I hear the 3-set's good as well (deflector/core/shield), so I'll give that a look...

Which beyond looking at the other pieces, also gets into what the 2pc, 3pc, and 4pc offer...yeah?

I'm still wondering about the 3pc for Meena's build. Had been looking at 2+2...but should probably hit up Tribble to see about 3+1...probably Counter-Command Deflector at this point...not sure.

Maybe there's something I'm missing here, but shouldn't the 3-piece bonus on the space shield/deflector/engine/core set make it a serious contender for best in slot for DPS, if you throw in the romulan engines or 8472 counter-command deflector?

I won't do STFs and thus I will not do this rep.

You don't need to play STFs at all to do this rep. You can replay the 2 Act III missions on Kobali Prime every day, it's almost 65 Iconian marks and 2 datacores in a few minutes.

Heh, they need an E-Mark to Mark conversion. :D

I'll pick up the console, but none of the rest looks phenomenally appealing to me.

I'll pick up the shield...because I like my ship to look like it has herpes.

I really wish they could change the visual effect to be something cooler

I started the rep...but I gave up on it. The marks are monotonous to earn and there just doesn't seem to be anything interesting to get anyway. The treats, for me, are always just these rubbishy quantum torpedoes and nothing fun. It's the least interesting rep so far.

    What are these missions again?

For those of you who are "I dont want anything from it so im not going to bother"

    Why?

I bought literally nothing from the Delta reputation, i still did it for that dilithium and mark payout at the end.

Put all the rewards together and you have a good 40,000 dilithium there, for about a month of work, which if you are playing the new missions (Which are fun, i dont know why you wouldn't) you are not having to go out of your way to get the required marks.

Would be interested on seeing feedback on this!

A, thanks. So they are actual missions? That's good to knw.

I had trouble getting anything group-based going on Kobali Prime. Well, at least PUGging. It would be much neater as a Voth-Ground type Battlezone.

Its another rep system like all the others. Ill finish it fir the sake of finishing it (with all the marks i stockpile from juwt playing there is no reason not to). The only piece of gear im interested in is the console you unlock at tier I but even that... There are better choices that ill use. Im at around 78k i think as of last night on two chars so the dil pot at the end is nice-ish (assuming the two toons im doing it on right now didnt already have a rediculous backlog of dil)

My sci is doing it for the exotic damage trait and some of my other toons for the universal ship console. Also, for the dil payoff in the end.

I may get another piece or 2 of equipment, but its enough for me to finish it and sponsor my other characters.

Personally, I'll let the DPS regulars figure out the effects of the 3-piece Space before I look at investing the resources necessary to grab and upgrade those. :D

I rather like the ground set for my tank BOffs though - Pulsewave to make them run up and blast, HP boost to make them tankier.

The two missions you pick up are basically reward wrappers that point you at the last two Open Missions in the ground zone. The Open Missions are the ones that give you the Marks, and I've occasionally gotten credit for the latter without getting credit for the former.

You're not going to get a group thing going here because you don't need to get a group thing going, every time I've done it there's been 1-3 other players.

First one is just hold & defend, then defeat 3 waves, then assault for clickies, then hold & defend. Everybody's in the area, and it gets done with credit awarded if you're shooting and standing in the hold & defend areas.

Second one is assault for clickies, then assault for clickies, then assault for clickies, then boss fight.

To be honest, this reputation surprised me from the onset.

I mean, from the perspective of the story, we know that the Iconians don't like temporal shenanigans. Yet this reputation contains nothing that uses that weakness to an advantage.

I mean, what the heck? How would THAT conversation have gone?

Vice-Admiral Whatsit: Okay - we know that the Iconians don't react well to time travel - perhaps we should investigate using Chroniton-based weaponry. It may not be entirely effective but it's worth a try. We also have existing weaonry that we could work upon. And any ship equipped with a Temporal Distruption Device should be of great benefit.

Fleet Admiral Whoever: Nah - just use Quantum torpedoes that heal the ship firing them a tiny bit.

I mean, granted, it's the Herald we're fighting - but nonetheless, the reputation is called Iconian Resistance.

I would have welcomed chroniton based weapons to go along with the temporal warfare set, but i expect them to keep that card for the introduction of the Krenim.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Personally I'm just unlocking the tiers because of the ground armor and space shield.
Not that I am expecting them to be great, but just another item to collect.
As far as the weapons and consoles go, they are utter TRIBBLE not worth the slot in your bank/inventory.

It'd be much neater if they did a round of bug fixes on that place, and adjusted any non-solo content to be solo. Some of the open missions are already solo friendly, but every last one should be.

The set is so-so. Great for new alts needing temporary gear to boost their survivability levels while grinding out better equipment (I'd say from my testing; excluding the Kobali set, the Iconian rep stuff do the job as well as, if not better than, the Borg or MACO/KHG sets as far as tanking/survivability go).

The real disappointment is that torpedo; it's worse than the Borg Plasma Torp in all areas. I'm not asking for another Neutronic 2.0, but at least a Biomolecular or GravWell 2.0 in terms of effectiveness. While it'd be great if it was a weaker Neutronic 2.0, I'd settle for something slightly weaker; not something drastically weaker. Especially for something listed as a quantum torpedo. The torp is an insult to even the basic quantum torpedoes, which do far more damage on average than even the Adv. Radiant Quantum. So bad it's embarrassing.

The 3-pc bonus is sort of nice; it's like a space-based Vanquish (Dyson Ground Rep Passive) ability, though I have yet to see if it's better than just a series of [CrtD]x2/3 [Over] APs I've been playing with for fits and giggles on newer alts (I get nice Overloads often enough).

Still working my way to the space set; it's tentatively looking worthwhile. And if not, at least I can enjoy the half-metallic look of the Iconian Shield skin. Which on the subject of ship skins, I'm still pissed about as we can't unlock Reputation ship skins the same way we can Reputation Uniforms.
