i reckon we will see the t6 bop not long after we see the t6 sci ship and the fleet guramba...
I was just glad I could T-5U my facehugger. I still think their will be a T-6 BOP. Around the time they release the Defiant, then they will bundle it with a T varo for maximum profit bundle.
A ship with less firepower and more fragility than escorts/raptors or even a pilot ship? Yeah, I'm sure that will sell well. 'Dozens.'
And that's why I expect to see the forums lighting up with complaints about the quality of the ship when it arrives, no matter how good it is. The ship could fire while cloaked, support all three Primary Specializations, and come with a time traveling Humpback Whale Bridge Officer, and it would still be derided as "conclusive proof that Cryptic favors Starfleet."

Frankly of such a 3 pk the defiant would be the least appealing to me, my ROM just left his T'varo for the Pilot Ships, and would happily go back for a T'varo with double tap pilot maneuvering.
Never was a big BoP player, but I would face the Iconians with merely a Mek'leth for a Vor'cha with a Lt pilot Hybrid.
That said I would like to really see a KDF oriented 3pk, Command Vo'quv with pets based of a T6 BoP, and 2 BoP, 1 Intel & 1 Pilot based. Let the BoP use any Hull types the Player has access to, just to show KDF retrofitting and upgrading aged ships with new Technology.
Don't know if I would buy it, but I think a large portion of the KDF player base would.
Thanks for the Advanced Light Cruiser, Allied Escort Bundles, Jem-Hadar Light Battlecruiser, and Mek'leth

Make the intel BOP a T6 Hegh'ta and the pilot a B'rel and I might even splurge on all 3...
T6 BoP...last T6 ship...released two weeks before T7 is announced.
Geko has stated that if any ship is going to be the final ship that the make, it would be a tier 6 KDF Science ship. He has said that they are working on a tier 6 BoP now.
And that's why I expect to see the forums lighting up with complaints about the quality of the ship when it arrives, no matter how good it is. Obviously - the Humpback whale is a clearly a Starfleet agent that ensures we don't do anything that the Federation would't like with the BOP!

it could be argued that the core basis of Geko's dislike isn't merely that he can't 'make a new ship' by rearranging seating, so much as experience showing that BoPs, while statistically inferior to all other ships, due to their flexibility, are not de-facto inferior to Fed ships in the hands of someone who spends even a little time thinking about it.
Meaning that IF they release one and stick to the core formula of all universal seating with a couple of Universal/single-specialty seats, a balanced console layout and the 4/2 weapons layout with excellent turn rate and accelleration, and if he doesn't Bortasque it by giving it inferior manueverability, it will probably do that thing he doesn't want, and sell-very well.
if it's done well, it might also harm lockbox sales. can't have that.
I don't think the risk is lockbox sales, but the risk is future ships. And Geko isn't the only one that can'T have that. Because if they see that's the effect - more reduced sales for new KDF ships - then we'll see even less, and that is something that Geko or at least the bean counters at Cryptic can live with, but the KDF players will definitely get angry about.
I suppose if Cryptic had known at launch what their business model would look like (largely about selling ships), they would never have made BOPs the way they are.
And quite frankly... I would have BOPs just make the Klingon equivalent of Escorts (Tac Heavy, DHCs, good turn rate, battle cloak). The "Raptor" from Enterprise is just the 22nd century Klingon Cruiser, no need to turn it into the "Klingon Escort" when the BOPs already perfectly fit that role in canon.

I imagine we'll get the T6 Defiant alongside a T6 BoP and T6 T'Varo or Valdore.
