There is another thread on it somewhere here, and it seems there is "kinda" a workaround. The crash seems to be related to t he shaking, and if you can drag the enemies out of the areas where the mine shake animation happens, you may be able to avoid a crash. (You will probably need to shoot some of them and ensure your BOFFs have a waypoint outside the affected area.)
If you log in back fast enough after a crash, you can also continue playing for a (sometimes very short) while, without being reset to the start of the map.
I haven't tried those workarounds yet, I was too frustrated by my own attempts to test it the last time.
