Salami Inferno comments (incase you missed it)

Here on Reddit and Here on the forums...
There are three large issues that are impacting performance right now, and they're all under investigation.

We're having some odd network issues, not including DDOS attacks, and you may have seen trendy collecting traces along with other information from players. This data is being passed off to our network engineers who are working to solve this issue.

A bug that caused major FPS issues went live with Season 10 and wasn't discovered until Friday. We have a fix that's already on tribble and will go live this week.

We did some profiling on our heavier maps and discovered that some player powers are incredibly expensive on our gameservers. It will take some time to identify them all and rebuild them in a way where they are functionally identical to you, but far less expensive for the gameservers. This is a change that will take time but will trickle out as we identify the offending powers and make fixes.

This is a pretty big deal to us and we have a fair amount of people across a wide array of disciplines working to get this resolved. I apologize for the inconvenience and my delay in posting something about it. Nothing nefarious about the delay, it's simply a busy time over here post release.

hahaha so the ship traits are bugging out the servers as reported is true and not paranoia as some folks wanted to refute the reports/vids of the lag.

Going to be a lot more of that with the forum move...meh.

But you guys should be prepared for the potential nerfs that might come into play as they determine a certain ability just can't remain enough the same to deal with its cost. People that use the ability once a week will flood the forums complaining about those pesky DPS people getting things nerfed!

Considering the upcoming Dil weekend , I have something more appropriate in mind ... :
Prepare ship for LUDICROUS LAG ! Fasten all seatbelts, seal all entrances and exits, close all shops in the mall, cancel the three ring circus, secure all animals in the zoo!

    Or perhaps just ... :
All personnel proceed to escape pods. Close down the circus. Evacuate the zoo. The self-destruct mechanism has been activated. Abandon ship.

... either way it's nice to hear something from Salami_Inferno , as he's been nudged to say something a few times on this issue ...

I thought it was still the blame the "pvper's" time of year for things getting nerf ' d. Or did I miss the staff meeting where the schedule was changed
Oh, it's not broken? We can soon fix that!

Useful info that the devs didn't post on the official forums? Thats disturbing. Don't want to have to pay attention to multiple message boards to know everything about a game. And add in the Arc shift coming up, sheesh. So much for consolidation of information.

Er..it was posted on the STO forums...sarc even linked that (linked reddit first, sure, but it was posted on the forums here)...not everybody follows devtracker.

There's more than enough stuff to wag fingers (middle or otherwise) at Cryptic about without having to fake complaints.

D'oh speedread only saw the Reddit part, seemed like part of something thats been a trend lately. My mistake. But no I don't follow devtracker, just stickies and news posts.

Meh, I probably had a bit too much aggro going on there...my apologies for that. The devstalker thing is something that I follow, and well...
We are working on making sure there is a working dev tracker for launch

...meaning there might not be, got the feeling there won't be, and that means a bunch of things will end up being missed. Hell, as is, not all devs show up in the devstalker anyway though...meh.

I've got a bit of #hatevanillaforums going on, and it's bleeding over into a variety of posts.

So, an issue is not considered to be well known until it is addressed by the Executive Producer now?

I guess the thread in Galactic News Network titled "Account Server Login Issues" with Trendy's updates on the lag issue shouldn't count as being well known?

Sorry, my english is not good, so sometimes some concepts are difficult to express. What i meant is obviously different: since now we have a statement written and communicated by the "boss" himself, it's like an official declaration of the problem and its soon resolution. Now we have a sort of warranty based on the fact that they have listened to us and they will work on it in an official way.
And btw, i press f5 every minute on that thread you mentioned :P

    You call me?

Yeah im here and no sarcasm intended i have to say im glad you guys are getting your "issues" solved.

On the other hand i NEVER posted that lag and rubberbanding didnt exist....i just agreed with some of the folks in the forums that were in the same boat as me aka no lag, rubberbanding or any other issues that you guys were complaining about.

I saw the same bunch of you whine and whine day after day, same group same players, and all i saw is them speaking on my behalf and other players without their authorisation now that is something i dont tolerate.
A lot of other players were gaming day in and day out without one single issue with their gameplay experience,no lag...no rubberbanding and that is the bottom line.

This has not a been server wide issue(if it were the forums would have been flooded,it would have been all over the net and even on CNN and to be honest apart from some random post i havent seen anything like i mentioned),some players might have suffered it and some players did not, there are no ifs or buts, that is the way it is.

For a minute I thought you were gonna say Salami inferno is wrong and you are ALWAYS right :D:D:D

Thank you very much for the info provided sarcasmdetector.

Glad to see that the problem with heavy isa/kasa lag seems to be at least acknowledged. The two runs I made yesterday were yet another pain while the rest of the gaming day was free of lag totally for me.

I saw the same bunch of you whine and whine day after day, same group same players, and all i saw is them speaking on my behalf and other players without their authorisation now that is something i dont tolerate.

    like him?
As I stated earlier, I don't normally post in forums. I simply am at a loss as to what I could have done that was so serious that it rated such rudeness and utter incivility. I will never post in these forums again. =(

I hope that someday, should you find yourself in a situation with which you're unfamiliar, someone will be as kind and helpful to you, as you have been to me. TY.

You saw it prudent to scare away players new to forums that had no idea how to address those issues and where they should have found help they only found you. DPS crowds take care, document and keep the community updated. If I wouldn’t know better I bet the Devs as well.

Thank you for this post, for the past week I haven't been able to play thanks to massive lag and fps drops and was worried I'm the only one experiencing it. Mostly since all bug threads are about crashin at login.

This gives me hope I might be able to enjoy s10 finally after today's maintaince.
