First off, here's my computer specs -
Self Built
Windows 7 Pro 64-bit SP1
ASUS M4A78L-M mobo
AMD Athlon II X2 250 3.0GHz
Diamond AMD Radeon R7 240 2GB
4GB RAM

Not the 'latest and greatest', but lets me play STO at max settings @ 50fps

*EDIT*
Should have included game video settings.
Display tab :
Display mode - Tried both Full Screen & Window Maximized
Video Card - Auto (Bandicam shows as GameClient DX11)
Anti-aliasing - Msaa 8x

Graphics tab :
Both sliders set to High

Advanced tab :
Default settings
*END EDIT*

So, evidently, a pre-patch started last night. Now I'm having issues. Keep in mind nothing has changed on my computer (hardware or software, except for a new monitor) from the time I installed Windows 7 (3/1/2015) until now.

So here's the problem. Yesterday, I got on and played from about 3pm to 8pm pst. No issues as usual. Then got back on around 10pm. Started the next mission in the list, Mine Enemy. Got through the space and initial ground part just fine, but as soon as I go into the mines and start running around, my game freezes and crashes. Reloaded STO and went back to the mission, which started me in the mines, same thing happens. Tried Force Verifying files, passes. Unchecked Patch on-demand, same issues. Upon digging through Windows Event Viewer, I find this which was created from the crash -

Faulting application name: GameClient.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x5522f1f0
Faulting module name: atidxx32.dll, version: 8.17.10.581, time stamp: 0x551b0003
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x00459f5f
Faulting process id: 0xe20
Faulting application start time: 0x01d07734819769fb
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Star Trek Online_en\Star Trek Online\Live\GameClient.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Windows\system32\atidxx32.dll
Report Id: 90b82a27-e328-11e4-8630-90e6baa645be

Side note - atidxx32.dll is a Radeon DirectX 11 Driver.

So, I thought it might be my video card drivers and I update them, same issue. Then I tried the latest beta drivers, same issue.

A fellow fleet mate plays on 2 computers (not at the same time, lol). His main computer hasn't done the pre-patch yet and has no issues, but once he got on his other one that has done it, he is experiencing pixel/shader problems.

Now, what I'm wondering is, are our problems related to this pre-patching? Anyone else having problems as well? Solutions?

I personally have been getting rubber banding, lag, SNR, and DC'd for the past two days. Five times in three hours yesterday while I tried to finish one mission that took me three times to do because the lag was messing up the game so badly that it didn't know what to do after I defeated Hakeev... twice.

Here's to hoping the new update fixes this, but I've been playing STO for awhile now... I know to NEVER get my hopes up!
