Look I know this is a painful process... But at least you aren't #2152 in queue, right?
Thats how long the queues used to be... From what I am told, the average wait time is less than 15 mins... and no more than 10 for most.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...

I will admit out of the two times I was in the q, I was in the game in about 5 mins? or there abouts so it could be worse if people are waiting ten to fifteen.
Question: As something like this happened before?
Side note: Guess the game isn't dying as everyone once believed?
Well ive been playing this game a long time and i dont complain about a lot but this is a NO NO for ppl like me who are lifers and do still buy zen.
the game just hit another low for me.
Last time i almost gave up on this game was when they ninjad the mail system and i lost a whole lot of TRIBBLE.
If this thing goes on any longer ....

Yes... From what I am told, there has always been a queue system in place, but it only became necessary when the game went F2P.
Back then the queues were significantly longer (2000 - 5000 people, and 30 - 60 mins wait), and it was especially bad when featured episodes were released.
It was eventually solved with stronger and more servers.
Back then, we had alot of thread like the one the OP made, and Cryptic explained back then, that any gold member skips the line in front of any silver player.
So basically we come to a long line with players, and we look at their sub model, and if they aren't paying at least monthly, we walk right past them until we find other golds, and then we get in the back of THAT line.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
So we'll be looking at this q system until they upgrade or get new/more servers?
What we are experiencing right now is probably just because of the influx of new players... It will doze off in a few days, when the "wow we can level fast on a new account" interest flattens out and people lose interest again.
Also, I will admit that there may also have been some server issues where some parts of the servers have been taken offline until the tech-team starts work monday.
Either way, it won't last.

They are not going to add more Servers. They add more Servers shortly before DR. This is the first time we have had a queue in nearly 2 years - since LoR launched. A few hours of queues on a Saturday afternoon is not going to lead to more Servers because the rest of the week there are only a fraction of the players on online.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

New low? The reason there is a queue is because there are actually a LOT of people playing, for a change. And if you are a lifer you already get priority over F2P players. What exactly are you complaining about? Have you never played an MMO that was actually popular enough to have queues before?
Believe me, I'm all for valid complaints about the game. But Cryptic has done nothing wrong in this instance, there are just a lot of people playing this weekend. And that is something to be thankful for, because more revenue = more content for you and me to enjoy.
I remember reading about this a long long time ago
But now i seem to be getting these on a daily bases
login queue you are nr 2 of 59 ......... nr 9 of 47 ....... nr 3 of 29
Now What the ****.
Im a ******n lifer im paid for this game dont feaking put me in line with the F2P ers
who else is getting this TRIBBLE?
Man, I don't know if you know this. But there are some of us that can't even get that far, I can't get past the launcher. That's the truth, and I am a life member as well. So this is hitting pretty much everyone. Want to trade places? I would love to be able to get in and actually have some game time.
So we'll be looking at this q system until they upgrade or get new/more servers?
Only if the increased number players attempting to log into the game is seen as a long term increase in the player base. For the moment this is only a temporary blip. Today is the 1st time I have seen the queue message since I started playing back in Jan 2014.
I would say that if something like this happens over a period of months, then that could mean there is indeed a "permanent" increase in the player base. I am sure Cryptic will have analysts looking that STO's metric to determine if there is an actual increase in the player base, or if it is only a temporary blip as a result of new players simply wanting to give STO a try. Also, only if players are waiting a long time in the queue.
For me that wait has not been that bad. At worse it has been less than 1 minute.
The crux of the problem is STO should not be sharing servers with Neverwinter period :eek::eek: !! Lifers should never wait in line.
Thats BS...
LTS'ers are dead weight after a short while... The whole "we shouldn wait because we've payed big once" is just a serious case of misplaced entitlement issues.

Agreed. At this stage I paid $240.00 for my LTS and they have given me $200.00 back in Stipend. By the end of the year Cryptic will have paid me more to play then what I paid them.

The funny thing is that I'm silver and get to log in within 15 seconds. But I like the entitlement of some (bold and italic) lifers and their superiority complexes.

I dont think people get it.. the "priority login" is just a way to sell some subs and nothing more lol its not this "entitlement" the only reason People brought it up at all was because people started posting about these q's and so of course one would say "well if you want to login faster you can pay a monthly sub or buy a lifetime"
I dont see why people are upset? LOL
dont purchase or purchase its all up to you but really its nothing about entitlement its a feature they sell for a monthly fee or a one time flat rate as a part of a package that some people choose to purchase.....
Just like people purchase ships and costumes and lockbox keys..

The ones you are in queue "behind", are other gold players.

The counterpoint to that would be that Cryptic / PWE will have increased operating costs.
That could mean PWE would have had to downsize more people and possibly look at shuttering some games to reduce operating costs.
Wow, that is actually crazy when you think about it.
