...then this should be followed up with an inspiring and motivational propaganda video showing the new Delta Recruits kicking TRIBBLE and saying "I'm doing my part!".

But as we pan out we see that all around you are corpses of non-Delta Recruits (aka old toons) .
...
Now I just wonder whether it's a good thing that you just turned Starfleet into a military propaganda organization..............................
...
Obviously in the minds of cryptics devs there's nothing wrong about that.
I simply wondering what Mr Roddenberry would say to this kind of starfleet propaganda....
"...'With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured...the first thought forbidden...the first freedom denied--chains us all irrevocably.' ... The first time any man's freedom is trodden on, we're all damaged. I fear that today--"
- (TNG) Picard, quoting Judge Aaron Satie

He'd make sure that he was getting money from it.
Also, in-universe Starfleet's a real organization that has to operate day-to-day. Inspiring people to volunteer for Starfleet and the MACO corps is a good thing, means they don't have to have a draft.
Willingly or not the Dev blog itself is just full of Starship Trooper quotes. Words like "war effort", "do your bit", "do their part" etc. are very similar to the movies propaganda.
Now I just wonder whether it's a good thing that you just turned Starfleet into a military propaganda organization..............................
Is that in any way related to FCD being AWOL?
I am asking myself for a long time now. Before you could argue that we're playing Starfleet and it's just a wonky gamedesign forcing us to kill hundreds of enemies each time we leave space dock - it's a game, alright. But since they introduced the new tutorials *everything* is centered around war, fighting and mindless propaganda. You toast to something akin to "shoot to kill, for the Federation!" when you finish the tutorial. What happened to "Ex astris, scientia?" - I'm fairly certain that not many people at Cryptic get what they are doing, honestly, in regards to these lore bits.
Yes, yes, war war war fight fight fight blah blah blah - there has always been war in Star Trek but never had it any influence on the principles of Starfleet. The recent changes Cryptic made with these propaganda posters really doesn't sit well with me. I know that military aficionados are a target audience for a F2P sci-fi game but honestly it doesn't feel like they are even trying to keep something of the spirit of the IP alive.
EDIT: Also, I find it funny that we're all pretending Delta Recruits are new players, needing to "learn the ropes" - I would suspect the large majority of DR are veteran players, grabbing the benefits and rewards
^ Memory Alpha.org is not canon. It's a open wiki with arbitrary rules. Only what can be cited from an episode is. ^
"No. Men do not roar. Women roar. Then they hurl heavy objects... and claw at you." -Worf, son of Mogh
"A filthy, mangy beast, but in its bony breast beat the heart of a warrior" - "faithful" (...) "but ever-ready to follow the call of the wild." - Martok, about a Targ
"That pig smelled horrid. A sweet-sour, extremely pungent odor. I showered and showered, and it took me a week to get rid of it!" - Robert Justman, appreciating Emmy-Lou
While I kinda enjoy this game propaganda, I'm really starting to hate your choice of always showing a female FED officer, a female Romulan and a male Klingon.
Is a bit more variety that hard to accomplish? I get that for new players or outsiders, a male Klingon warrior will be more recognisable than a Gorn or an Orion, but when you make several blogs a week with this theme, you could mix in someone else at least in some of them.
Also, I'd join this movement asking about the Vanguard tech upgrade situation. I'd very much appreciate them being Bound to account, as they were btw advertised.

Thanks for writing this mate!

The Fed temporal agent needs a better spot to stand at.
How about a booth in the club or somewhere more discreet?
Why not just swap his position with the Bridge officer trainer. That guy has been placed at a really unfavorable place imo.

Reread that, and then look at TOS episodes, plenty of confliict and war footing.. Most of the movies....
Do good federation is a bunch of aged fans, looking back at what they think are better days, ignoring the current issues (of the time) they delt with. Times when budgets, effects and forward thinking where limited to that generation.
Fans dream up what Trek is, it's changed, it's not relevent in many cases anymore. Covering all the real canon in one wide view, is so full of holes, contradictions, and well just plain bad writing, as to be TRIBBLE.
I like the idea of peaceful exploration and general do-goodieness we all think Star Trek entails, but seriously, how much of that has been shown on screen? Canon begs to differ with the backwards TRIBBLE thinking of a overly optimistic (and blind) fanbase.
Honestly? If you want this game to be about the same things Trek is about as a franchise, it's going to have to go to places a lot of gamers really, really don't like.
Because, while Trek involved war, it wasn't about war. While it involved exploration, it wasn't about exploration. Trek was a show about politics and social justice. The defining episodes of the series are episodes like Plato's Stepchildren, Measure of a Man, Far Beyond the Stars, and Author, Author.
That was what Trek was about - the goal of Trek. That's what Roddenberry and the various actors involved in the franchise - especially Nimoy, Takei, Nichols, and Brooks - say drew them in and kept them there. So if what you want is "more Trek," that's what you're asking for.

I can not speak for anyone else. I never watched Star Trek for the idology of politics or social justice. I watched every episode for the science fiction. I suffered through Voyager and DS9 just for a chance to witness the science fiction in StarTrek. Mind melds, Orion pheromones, Worm holes, Transwarp, The Borg, DATA!, the list goes on. Except for Time Travel. I agree with the Vulcan Science Directorate. The Prime Directive is the only political or social justice I took from Star Trek. Everything else was comedy.
This game needs more science in the fiction, in my opinion.

Maybe, but this "lets cheerfully march into war" menthality is a step too far imo.

gotta admit they have done some nice work but sadly it looks like delta's cant redeem either the crystalline torpedo or will never be able to gain the dyson sci destroyer t5 OR the samsar t6
i really REALLY hope they review this oversight
(hopefully be releasing them like they did for the ambassador class but not the kamarag class sto in the zen store for 0 zen therefore allowing the people who actually took the time to grind for the full solanae warp core set and the ships the ability to carry them across to ALL characters being as they forced the player base to make alts)
please PLEASE sort this out devs its a shame we have to be faced with this
Spurred by the threat of war against the Iconians, new recruits are flooding recruitment stations across the Federation, the Klingon Empire and the Romulan Republic.
Considering the plot and the enemy.............I find it a mild statement but very believable
and its also a Federation :P
Jellico....Engineer ground.....Da'val Romulan space Sci
Saphire.. Science ground......Ko'el Romulan space Tac
Leva........Tactical ground.....Koj Romulan space Eng
JJ-Verse will never be Canon or considered Lore...It will always be JJ-Verse
We so need an alliance propaganda series of videos, one for Starfleet, one for the Romulan Republic and the KDF
Devs please make it so.
"The meaning of victory is not to merely defeat your enemy but to destroy him, to completely eradicate him from living memory, to leave no remnant of his endeavours, to crush utterly his achievement and remove from all record his every trace of existence. From that defeat no enemy can ever recover. That is the meaning of victory."

Maybe you should reread what I wrote as well.
War and conflict have always been topics of Star Trek. But they have been dealt with without changing the portrayed spirit of the UFP and Starfleet. Cryptic did that. Completely unnecessary marketing gag.

I beat you to it on page 3.

I have searched them all and cannot find the Agent.
Help please? Thanks in advance!

not with the iconian armor... at no circumstances im going outside with that junk
next to that...
"Can anyone remember when we used to be explorers?"
since when does Starfleet/Federation call for war?
This propaganda bull**** violates what Startrek stood for for nearly 50 years.
Star Fleet wants YOU to be on it's poster.

Where is your DR right now?

He's actually on the Flotilla, so low level players can reach him.
Your father was captain of a starship for twelve minutes. He saved 800 lives, including your mother's, and yours.
