KDF Romulan Transporter

I'm not sure if this should be listed as a gameplay or a graphical glitch.

Can anyone else confirm if their KDF Romulans are now showing a Klingon Red transporter beam? I have two KDF_Rom alts, and it seems to be affecting both - I have had a green beam when beaming into the staging area on NR with a Boff (though it was red when they beamed out), but without a boff, it always seems to be red.

It doesn't seem to affect the Fed side as much (it won't affect my captain, but a reman-borg boff had a blue beam while I was doing uneasy allies)

I have only noticed this since the patch this afternoon.

Have reported it in game [TicketCreated] Successfully submitted ticket ID #3,323,113.

It is unusual - it only affects the captain when alone - it doesn't affect beaming in with a boff (at least on New Romulus), it also doesn't affect beaming from site to site on New Romulus.

I can't find anything in the notes - but they seem to have fixed the bug fed side where the Kobali Boff had a Klingon transporter - perhaps this is an unintended side effect.

perhaps, although to be honest I didnt have time to do extensive testing to see if it does it in the cases you mentioned, just tried beam around including onto my ship from space, logging off and then back on, but it persisted. Also at end of the FE when me and my away team beamed away it was still using kdf transporter. I know of a few other's that are having the issue as well.

Well, glad it's not just me.

How can adding a new featured episode result in changing transporter colours?!

I suppose it'll get picked up in an update soon.

Just an update on the bug, when beaming down to new romulus staging area it uses correct beam in, when using the transport system to get around the different areas in the New Romulus adventure area it uses the correct transport (this could be do to design of the area to force use of that system, did not experiment with my klingon or fed to confirm) however when leaving(beam up to ship) and any other use of transporter including visiting my bridge while in space, and beaming into any other area it uses a klingon transporter which is obviously incorrect. I remember kdf-roms had this issue at launch of Legacy of New Romulus because something in the coding got screwy. Hopefully they can fix this soon because it is a rather annoying bug.

That is exactly as I have found it.

It doesn't seem random, as you say, specific areas around new Romulus uses the green. But other than that it is the Klingon Transporter. I also replayed the Nimbus missions last night, and the green beam is used where you have to beam survivors out of the desert, but on the captain and boffs, it remains red. It does look like the LoR bug has been restored.
Hopefully they can fix this soon because it is a rather annoying bug.

Yeah, I agree, I'm wanting to re-roll a KDF-Rom for the Delta Recruitment next week, so hopefully it's all back working then. The republic really shouldn't be using second hand klingon transporters!

And additionally, I have played around with a Fed-Rom, and there doesn't seem to be any issues that side that can be documented.

While I was playing uneasy allies on Thursday night, I do think I saw my Reman Liberated Borg Tac Officer beam out with a blue beam, but it takes a second, and I have not been able to re-create that effect, so I could be mistaken.

It does not seem to affect the captain at all, however.

The only change to transporters fed side, as I mentioned earlier, is that I have noticed that the Kobali BOFF who had a red beam regardless now has a blue for the Feds, that might be a fix, or it might be a symptom of the same issue. I wonder if fixing this has undone the LoR fix?

Hopefully it will be patched on Thursday.

yea my reman lib borg boff used the blue beam out and fed style combage slap as well during the mission but uses red otherwise like me and the rest of my boffs. During LoR fed-roms were not bugged either it was always isolated to the kdf-roms. Now I know why the klingon in undiscovered country warned the enterprise(pretending to be a freighter) not "to catch any bugs". :D

All my fed rommies tap their non-existent combadge which really pisses me off!
Will check for the transporter bug on my kdf rommies tho.

has it always done this with the combadge or just since the patch?

The Fed-Roms have had the combadge tap since either Delta Rising or 9.5 - I can't remember which, before that, they'd just put their arms by their sides seemed to use the force to call for a beam out.

Would be a nice touch to have a romulan combadge if you side with the feds.

Well nothing listed in the new patch. Not even under known issues.

Any change my Rommie will be using the right transporters after tomorrow's patch?

Damn, that is irritating - considering I'm wanting to play a KDF romulan through the missions now.

To be honest, I'd be happy if it had just appeared on the list of known issues. They've had this report, tickets submitted - it's also not like the loadout bug where they need to find a particular situation where it happens.

This seems to be affecting all Romulan toons allied to the kdf.

Maybe it's not a big thing - but it is irritating.

Just an update with another ticket - just in case anyone else has this bug and is wanting to reference other cases.

[TicketCreated] Successfully submitted ticket ID #3,339,578.

Explained the details - and started March 26 when Uneasy Allies went live, and is still happening following the 2 April patch.

Could I just ask anyone reading this, if you have a KDF Romulan, even if you don't play it now - could you just log on and try a transport - is it red or green?

I'm just trying to work out if it's just the four of us who posted in this thread, or if it is a global bug.

    Thanks a lot.

Seeing that red/orange transporter beam when I'm a Reman allied with KDF really annoys me since I"m using Romulan ships and not KDF based ships. How could this have gotten messed up?

Its an old bug, popped up around time Legacy of Romulus went live but was "fixed" only to be resurrected with uneasy allies. Whats most annoying is that there has not been any dev acknowledgement of the bug either in forums that I know of or on patch notes as something being worked on. It's an eye sore and hopefully gets addressed soon. New bugs happen but bringing back old ones are the real head scratchers...

I looked at New Romulus command over the weekend - and when people are beaming in - it's roughly 50/50 green and red beams - so I think it's pretty clear it's a global bug - and basically it is the bug from LoR back - something in Uneasy Allies has undone the fix from 18 months ago.

To be honest - I think I'd be having much less of an issue with this problem if it hadn't been for the complete lack of acknowledgement. Just a single line in the dev blog saying it's a known issue, it'd be fine - but when they don't acknowledge despite the posts on here and tickets posted in game.

Still not a known bug apparently.

Devs - this is affecting half a faction. I'm not even that fussed about a fix right now - can you just acknowledge there is a bug please??

Still happening constantly for me, didn't start until that March 26rd patch, when they were doing God-knows-what. It seriously irritating, since most of my toons are Romulans. If you allow little things to creep in like this, and just say "Oh Whatever", eventually it become a huge pile of little things, and the game will become unplayable, then everyone will say, "Oh well whatever" and stop playing.

I just started a Rom recently and alligned her with the KDF...and I'm getting this too...always the KDF transporter effect when she beams out.

    That is exactly my attitude.

I know it's a cosmetic thing - and in the grand scheme of things it's an effect - but it's part of the environment - if there is a bug on a planet somewhere - I can avoid that bug. But this is happening everytime I transition maps - and it is seriously immersion-breaking. Maybe it's a bit of obsessiveness - but a minor glitch regularly is still irritating.

A little late to the party, but I can also confirm this. My Reman KDF-ally has the red KDF transporter effect, while my Romulan Fed-Ally has the correct green Romulan effect. Visually it doesn't bother me (could be pink and sparkly for all I care), but it is... unusual.

As a side note, I have a Reman BOff on my Fed Engineer, and he also uses the Romulan transporter effect, while the rest of my BOffs (Klingon, Jem'Hadar, and Liberated Borg) use the proper blue Federation effect.

I had hoped that this would have sneaked under the radar and somehow been fixed. But no - April 7th patch is complete, and the transporters are still glitched.

Can we please get a dev to acknowledge that there is a bug affecting half a faction, please???

No mention of this in the patch notes with a huge amount of changes. Maybe we'll get lucky ... or it's now a fix offered in a lockbox.
