  As stated above: Just with her looks, the galaxy crushes the guardian without firing a single phaser. When it comes down to a cat fight, the T6 Galaxy is the bigger and better cat. They made the guardian and then redid the galaxy to out class the guardian. If you want my honest opinion, they required a lot of ships for the DR pack,. especially for the fed side. I think the guardian was a filler for content. One more T6 ship they could list on the DR pack's items. The fact that it is similar shaped to the galaxy may possibly have been a subtle hint that a T6 Galaxy was in the works. Just a theory though.

  Personally I like the Guardian better, I'd take the Lt Cmdr Sci and Lt Int over the Lt Cmdr Cmnd and Lt Sci.
  
  She handles slightly better, .5 more turn rate and 10 more inertia, they both have right around the same hull and shield strength.
  
  Plus there always is the wild card that the Guardian will get a 4th tac console slot when the fleet version is released.

  By looks alone?
  The new Galaxy is one ugly ship, what is up with the deflector area etc, that saucer is pig ugly too.
  It is prob one of the worst lookers they have released for a few years.

  Looks alone - Subjective, open to opinion.
  
  
  Stats wise - The ships are very similar, the Guardian having a better Science Station and the Andromeda with the superior Engineering.
  
  The other difference is the Guardian can use Intel abilities vs. Command with the Andromeda.
  
  
  Honestly, while the Andromeda is a very attractive ship, the Guardian is superior. Why? Because the only thing the Andromeda has over the Guardian is slightly better tanking. The Guardian can out DPS the Andromeda with more useful Intel Abilities. On top of that, the Guardian can make up the Tanking difference ten fold with it's console.
  
  As for the trait, again.. subjective. I prefer the Guardian Trait, but this argument could go either way.
  
  And then there is the final factor, the fact that the Andromeda can go to Fleet level while the Guardian can't.
  
  Right now, it's a draw. But once they finally allow the Guardian to get a Fleet Variant, it will be the statistically better ship. You buy the Andromeda for looks and nostalgia, you buy the Guardian to be effective.

  the 3 console set makes the Galaxy better, also command abilities are way higher DPS. 1 HY torp and torps reset every 5 seconds? yes please!

  You are referring to the Andromeda not the Galaxy, the original Galaxy class hands down beats the Guardian in terms of looks.

  sure, buy the andromeda imo very butt-ugly.....BUT use the galaxy skin damnit and get the TNG look that most wanted with the so-called revamp they did a while back........
