T5-u?

It all makes sense now...T-F-U...make us pay not once, not twice, but three times for the same ship?

I've spent all the cash I'm ever gonna spend on this game. What a rip off.

    In fairnes, some of us (yes, that includes me) tried to raise the flag about this.

    We DID try to warn you guys.
    Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...

    This is why I do not buy Z-store ships; insufficient value for the money. Planned obsolescence may be good for Cryptic, but not for those of us who normally view STO as a fun hobby... :(

    No one's making you buy the ships three times. It was a very obvious move to make T6 variants of the Hero ships. If you didn't see it coming, it's not really Cryptic's fault.

    What does T5U have to do with anything? That was 6 months ago - and we knew a Galaxy upgrade was coming because they offered an Intrepid upgrade at the time. So if you thought after they introduced a T6 Intrepid that they would never make a T6 Galaxy - or that they will not eventually make a T6 Defiant - then you were only fooling yourself.

    And if the $5.00 for the token - or a couple of weeks of grinding Dilithium to get that 500 Zen - was a real hardship for you then you probably should not be spending money on games at all. Save the money for needed items.
    STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

    As anazonda said we knew this was going to happen, i have made some t5u ships and i have the Delta Intel bundle name of the game is be patient, main ships i turned T5u was the avenger and the Galaxy Dread. glad i did but will look forward to having an option to get a t6 version eventually of them.

    I can't wait until T7 ships come out. And T8 after. And maybe even T9. ;)

    No, you are not. You paid for a T5 version which had T5 stats. You possibly used it for many years. Then you paid $5.00 more to get a version which had T5U stats - which you have used for roughly 6 months Now you can choose to buy another version which has T6 stats if you want it, but you are certainly not forced to buy it, and it is certainly not the same ship. Your T5U ship is not getting weaker. It is staying the same.

    It is not about superiority. It is about people who think $5.00 is a lot of money to spend on a game every few weeks/months and yet are probably drinking a Starbuck's latte, which costs them $4.50, while they type their outrage at spending $5.00 on the game. :)

    Sorry, but this is the public forum. You are free to express your opinion, and so is EVERYBODY else. Especially when your opinion is just bull**** and consists of 100% entitlement and nothing more.

    Well it kinda comes with the F2P model really.

    These are ships that people want, and they are willing to pay to get them... We've experienced it once before, no twice before.

    Originally, The Galaxy, Intrepid and Defiant were T4 ships, then they were introduced as Veteran / T5 C-Store ships, Later they got the T5.5 treatment, then the fleet treatment and now they are getting T6 variants...

    Next up is T6-Fleet variants and then sometime next year most likely, we will start to see T7 variants.

    It's best to just mentally get used to the idea... Saves you alot of headace.

    How come nobody complains about having to buy versions of lower tier ships?

    Alas, this happening was kind of destiny the moment they did a very sly curveball on the 'T5 ships will not be upgraded to T6'. Which was totally untrue and a mere technicality. T5's would become T6's, they'd just be reissued as a new ship (as what happened to the Intrepid with the Pathfinder class) that you had to repurchase at a full price.

    I've never purchased a new ship so I feel less burn and I guess I'm one of the few nutjobs secretly hoping they'll pull a fast and issue an Advanced Escort T6 model.

    Greed, eh? Not at all. It's a business, did you think the company would give you the ship for free? You are deluded if you ever thought that they'd do that. Also, you're not paying three times for the same ship... smart people wait to see what happens in these situations, and then decide at that point.

    noone forces you to buy anything. and you are free to read the announcements and use your brain for predictions.

    it was clear since dr that t6 variants WILL come

    on the question asked "if there will be t6 variants" they responded with "its not impossible that we will do t6 versions of iconic ships, unless not on dr launch"


    it HAS BEEN SAID.

    and it has been clear since the pathfinder arrived ... just a matter of time.

    also expect defiant, sovereign, nebula galX bop vorcha and tvaro variants. just expect it.

    and you havent been screwed at all:

    i for example bought the guardian ... that was 3k for nothing now its been changed with the galaxy version.


    you were given the chance to keep your t5 variant as t5u until the galaxy t6 arrived. you saved 2300 zen! (if not 3k cause the tokens are in the exchange for ec)


    try to look at it that way. just try it. be happy a t6 galaxy is there and the old model got some love. why always look at the darkzone of the universe huh?
