Manually updating the Links tab on several spreadsheets is starting to become a pain.. I could get behind that, and then use the "=importrange" function to import the entire collaborative spreadsheet into the Links tabs of the various other spreadsheets so that updates only need to be made to one sheet.. hmm.. but on second thought the "=importrange" function doesn't properly import formatting so all of the other sheets would still need manual updates when new data is added.. hmm..
I'll take a look at it. The "=importrange" only imports the data, and doesn't actually convert links to links, one of the reasons I didn't use it for the Links sheet in any of my spreadsheets. Still, we can figure something out.
It does do links, but I believe (off the top of my head) they only work when it is a raw link in the cell. Like, http://www.google.com works, instead of using code to give it different display text like bacon which doesn't work (OTOH) when you use importrange.
Nitpicking is a time-honored tradition of science fiction. Asking your readers not to worry about the "little things" is like asking a dog not to sniff at people's crotches. If there's something that appears to violate natural laws, then you can expect someone's going to point it out. That's just the way things are.

I guess more testing is in order. You have a nice list of links there, some I'd never even heard of.
It would be useful to be able to input the number of items you want to craft in order to see the total # of materials and total EC/Dilithium costs for yourself or the exchange.
This could go in cell B7/C7. [Enter # of items:][5] which multiplies the results of B17 to B24, C10, C13*, C14* column E and the two totals in D29 and D30.
*although without being logged in I'm not sure if the time, and skip cost goes up by an equal amount to the number you're crafting if you're doing components in batches

Time goes up, but I think skip cost is determined by the length of time so it might not take long enough for the skip cost to go up. I'll look into implementing this suggestion when I have time, then it's back to work on my latest spreadsheet project: Boffs.

Yep, I'm waiting for that to hit Holodeck patch notes. It shouldn't be too difficult a change though... only the material costs of components seem to be changing.
V2.2 is now available with the updated material costs for components.
As a slight side project, I am now tracking all the mods I get while crafting Mk II items. You can see those stats at: http://bit.ly/STORnDMods. I may eventually add in info about the other mods available on epic and special Mk XII items.

I have once again updated this spreadsheet, now to V2.3. The latest changes include the new Officer Training school, a whole lot of Kobali R&D doffs, the special event Omega upgrades, and more. Enjoy!
question: does this spreadsheet incorporate crits and their benefits into the cost analysis of crafting? For example, crafting superior tech upgrades, you get a near 100% crit chance at rank 20, and approximately 30% crit chance to make the components. Is this calculated in?

At this time, the spreadsheet does not do that. As far as I can tell, crits still require the same number of inputs, so the "cost" of that crafting job has not changed. What does change is the number of outputs. I prefer to think of this as a bonus above the normal crafting expectations, not a discount on inputs.
I've been trying to figure out how to calculate chances of success, crits, etc., but have been unsuccessful thus far. I will give 100mil Energy Credits to the first player to provide me with a formula that works every time. Good luck!
Greetings Dabelgrave, thank you so much for the excellent work,
(also im sorry if im necroing the post)
Im trying to make kinda "crafting profit sheet" heavily based on your sheet, but im very bad at spreadsheets, do you mind giving me a hand- only if you know shortcuts to make this more quickly? otherwise ill input every formula one by one

I haven't had much time to work on my spreadsheets this year so mine is probably a bit dated, but I'd be willing to at least take a look at yours. Unfortunately, I am unable to access your link; you'd need to change the share options so it can be viewed by anyone with the link.
I'm not sure what you mean by shortcuts. For the most part, the formulas would need to be done one by one, although you can use some copy-paste with similar formulas. Good luck!

I accept lockbox keys, contraband, and Orion slave girls. Seriously though, it's nice to know you find it helpful.

What I might eventually add is the expected crit chance based on the quality of doff you use, similar to what you see in this chart: http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showpost.php?p=21747101&postcount=44. Catalyst affects are also a possible thing to add.
