The Capitol of ch'Mol'Rihan Ought to be Named "Hachae s'Temer"

The Capitol City on ch'Mol'Rihan (New Romulus, for the Rihan-deficient) has at present no name. I propose that it should be named, and that the name should be:

Hachae s'Temer
(Soul of Temer)

because without the noble self-sacrifice of Temer, the situation on ch'Mol'Rihan would be very different.

Make it so, Cryptic.

    So whole-heartedly agreed on this.

When I first played through the Romulan storyline, Temer's sacrifice was the point at which I first felt truly engaged and connected to the in-game universe. It made it just that little bit more 'real' for me. Temer is definitely a character of great importance for the Republic, and his actions were the springboard for basically the entire Republic storyline going forward.

Hachae s'Temer - I can't wait to visit there when the city is complete.

    Agree's wholeheartedly

Temer also deserves a prominent statue in the city center

(also we need the city to be released already Cryptic :) )

While I like the sentiment, I'm not sure naming the Capitol after one man is appropriate.

I agree Temer's sacrifice was noble indeed, but many brave and loyal Romulan citizens gave their live for a new start.

If anything, the city ought to be named after all the people who sacrificed so much to bring the Republic where it is today. The "Heart of the Romulan people" or "Soul of Noble Triumph" or something like that. But a monument somewhere in the city in Temer's honor would be a very good thing. :)

I agree, though I would also be satisfied with meaning it Ki Baratan or Valdanadex Trel.

Perhaps a very large monument to him and his sacrifice?

I already was naming my ship after him because I thought the Republic didn't give him enough credit. So, I'm pretty much for this. Though my hopes to see the actual interior of the capitol are low, given how excellent excuses to explore such avenues have already been squandered.

Or a ship class named after him could be nice. Though ships are pretty transitory these days. >_>

In my fics they named the Republic version of the Medal of Honor/Victoria Cross/Gold Star Medal after him: the Temer Order of Merit.

I think once the Iconian arc is over, there can be a sigh of relief / coming of age for the Republic.

I'd expect Season 11 or 12 will be something like "A New Peace," and that'd include environment assets and other non-combat mechanics being added. Maybe the return of the exploration systems too?

That's just my guess of course. But If they're going to do it, right after the Iconian arc would make a lot of sense.

optimist... if it happens ever itll prolly be season 15 or later or when they decide to "revamp" factions into "one big happy fleet"

    optimist...

    Hehe, guilty as charged :D

I just figure it seems like a nice time to squeak in in map updates and such. Lots of content and combat's come along through Delta Rising, and now the Iconian conflict. So I'd expect them to have a less combat- / story-heavy season in the works.

Either way, I'd love to see more of Mol'Rihan, and I'd love to see this name for the capital city be adopted.

on that we are agreed... Bioware recently went on record telling players to expect a lot more plot and progression based on character decisions in swtor, how glorious would that be here?

They should have delayed the Iconian stuff for months, maybe longer, and focused on refining what is already there.

If one can go around ch'Mol'Rihan (all of it); then the Citadel being named after Temer, is okay with me.

New romulus needs a social zone.
The names can wait till later.
(it feels silly that even in Delta Rising the planet is still not under republic control)

Well, it's only been an in-game year that Mol'Rihan has been a thing. I figure once the Iconian arc is over, the calendar can roll to 2411 and we can start to see some progress in the Beta/Alpha.

Case in point, we're seeing some things trickle out already. The new galaxy map for Season 11 will have a ton of important Trek planets we'd been missing before. So there's definitely some effort being put towards making "home space" a more complete place.

I just hope Mol'Rihan is on the list for improvements.

It is under Republic control. Gameplay and story segregation means that there still has to be a wilderness outside the gates so that one of the sources of Romulan Rep marks doesn't disappear.

I like the idea of naming the city, and a tribute to Temer. The Starfleet academy map has a bunch of memorials, why not do that with mol'rihan's capitol and the kdf academy.
New home of the Romulan Republic.
I have an idea for what Season 11 should be; Season 11: The Big Bug Fix.
I have not been able to read my bug tickets in over a year, not even the tickets about not being able to see my tickets.

Also, CRYPTIC can we get some SSL implemented on this forum? I don't like using it and sending my account info clear text.

Yes and no. I'm sure that they can make new mark sources in the city.

Mind you, most of the adventure zone can be left as-is. The Staging Area would need to be cleaned up and built to look a lot more finished, and any tents across the area can be replaced with more structured outposts. Most of the tasks can be kept anyways, like tagging Eppohs, gathering samples in Vastam or the Atlai, and other non-combat objectives. The Hirogen, Tholians, and Tal Shiar encounters would need to be taken out.

But for the city, I can think of several quick tasks to carry out.

In the Senate Hall for instance:

    - deliver communique from one Senator to another (just run between offices)
    - maintain / test security systems (check a bunch of consoles and wall mounts)
    - resupply banquet hall (grab some Entertainment Provisions, some food and drink)
    - arrange conference room for visiting dignitaries (help change flags and other markings to match the random dignitary: Fed, Klingon, Deferi, etc)
    - deliver response to local family (make it happy, like a Senator has responded positively to a citizen's randomized request)

    Elsewhere in the city:

    - support local vendor (replicate and deliver some commodities)
    - seek out rumoured spy (question citizens to find a Tal Shiar spy)
    - help tourist find destination (random end location: Senate Hall, a vendor, Spock's Memorial, etc)
    - help tend to city gardens (helping a Cardassian garder, 'cause reasons ;))
    - rally troops at local RRF HQ (speak to some RRF soldiers in Command, or ideally at some new RRF offices)

And special daily just for Republic players:

    - admire your new home (admire random thing: Senate Hall, Spock's Memorial, Temer's Memorial, the sea over the cliffs at a lookout, etc)

touche... I will have to give ya that one. Still rep marks or no, damn it they need to stop running off to the next big bombad and pause to develop existing things for a bit. Even just a couple rooms for the reman quarter, and a couple inside the rest of the city with a decent art backdrop would be nice. How cool would it be to leave the command center and hang a right to the Security Chief's office and hand him all the contraband your crew loves so much? Then come back out, go across the street to a full tailor shop ala the one on ESD. We don't need the whole city just a little illusion of one.
