I finally got myself to Level 60 after a completely ridiculous number of patrol missions.
(I actually returned to the Alpha Quadrant, then proceeded to run every patrol I skipped in Cardassian space, while running Doffs non-stop. It took 2 1/2 days from Level 59 to 60)
I can't believe I ground out all that just to see "What's Left Behind."
While the assault on Gaul was a good mission, what follows, and what is the ultimate status of your character, makes you quite literally the biggest Mary Sue in the known universe, as well and likely several parallel universes as well!
Just to sum it up:
1. I'm a Fleet Admiral. That means I'm the Commander in Chief of Starfleet. Admiral Quinn, I'm giving you 72 hours notice of your eviction from your office.
2. I'm on a first name basis with everyone in the Romulan Republic's leadership.
3. I have assembled, by hand, the "2nd Federation" in the Delta Quadrant.
4. I'm BFF with the remaining crew of the Starship Voyager.
5. I managed to solve TWO mysteries that were left unsolved by previous Captains, one which occured during Archer's era, the other which is of Picard's era...OH AND THEY ARE TIED TOGETHER!
6. I came face to face with Sela.
7. I ended conflict with both the Voth AND Species 8472.
8. I found previous Harry Kim, who was "Lost in Space".
It seems the only shark jumping that DIDN'T occur was Prophet Sisko and Cyborg James T. Kirk sweeping in for the Deus Ex Machina time warp reset of all these events.
Seriously Cryptic? THIS was the big pay off from the grotesque grind of Level 50-60?

I'm thinking maybe pancakes." ~ John Casey
My guess is Prophet Sisko and Cyborg Kirk will be coming soon. Maybe Season 11, as they haven't announced either as a Season 10 voice actor yet.
Then again, apparently some time traveling captain is going to be recruiting our delta recruits... they didn't say they were traveling from the future.
1. I'm a Fleet Admiral. That means I'm the Commander in Chief of Starfleet. Admiral Quinn, I'm giving you 72 hours notice of your eviction from your office.
What amuses me about it is that, eventually, we're going to get our level cap increased to 70, then 80, etc. We're running out of rank titles.
It seems the only shark jumping that DIDN'T occur was Prophet Sisko and Cyborg James T. Kirk sweeping in for the Deus Ex Machina time warp reset of all these events.
I'm sure we'll meet them in the next few expansions. Perhaps "Mirror Universe Ascending?" By then, we'll have united Starfleet, KDF, and the Romulan Republic into a single entity in which we lead in the battle against the Mirror Iconians. I say "Mirror Iconians" because by then, we'll have crushed the Iconians in our universe, be flying around in their ships, and even have a few of them as bridge/duty officers--maybe even playable characters.

My guess is after we finish off the Iconians, the Ori will make their incursion aboard Imperial Star Destroyers under the command of Darth Deanna Troi, and we'll find out the reason all of the events in STO occurred was because Troi and Riker didn't get it on, which would have brought balance to the Force.
Or something like that.

Considering that something called "IP law" stands in the way of ridiculous, sarcastic scenarios like this, I think not.
1. I'm a Fleet Admiral. That means I'm the Commander in Chief of Starfleet. Admiral Quinn, I'm giving you 72 hours notice of your eviction from your office.
Why would being a Fleet Admiral make you the C-in-C?
STO already proves that there's more ways to advance a character than level, (Rep system, etc) so why raise the cap more?
Honestly I'd have been happy if you stopped gaining ranks at Captain, and just got more points to put in your skills and build.
That would make a hillariously epic foundry mission, altho it would be sadly flagged for violations.

He is my answer to cryptic logic, he is the Defender of my Romulan Crew.
He is Tovan Khev... and he shall know no fear."
60-70 You save the galaxy, but by this point your genocidal war record have caught up with you and you get busted down to Captain. Everyone happy. Problem solved.
makes you quite literally the biggest Mary Sue in the known universe, as well and likely several parallel universes as well!
Maybe you're forgetting all of the fouls and follies that your Captain went through on their road to the Delta Quadrant?
A Mary Sue has no flaws, is perfect, and can do everything...except, our Captains can't.
Very first mission for Starfleet after the tutorial is to save the Azura. We not only don't end up saving the ship but can't even save the wounded crew if we're not a Sci Captain.
The next mission has us destroying several KDF squadrons that were completely right about there being a Undine infiltrator aboard our ship, yet we don't even have the option of trying to negotiate time to test the Ambassador. We go full throttle with the knowledge that no, you're Klingons, so you're wrong...and yet, we were wrong.
I'm not going to sit here and list every single muck-up your Captain commits over the course of many Storyline Episodes, but our Captains end up being rather flawed, and that's on all 3 sides of the factions.
It is sad that they slap you in the face just for getting to level 50 by making the grind so ridiculously long. However, now they want you to start another one up soon to do it all over again, even though you are no where near completing your spec points.
So yeah, it was a pain in the butt. But, can you imagine how much better DR could have been, if the ones calling the shots had actually thought things through from a game play quality side of things? It would have put the game on the road to reaching its potential, instead of almost grinding progression to a halt.
I now have as much doubt as I have hope that anyone will be doing anything to fix the state of the game anytime soon.
Still, look on the only bright side you do have. When I new FE comes out, you don't need to worry about needing to grind a character to level 60 to see what happens. That is, till they up the level cap again in a shameful attempt to make up for the power creep they are now selling.
So, there is a very, very small silver lining to this very dark cloud called Delta Rising.

Thats because the Klingons WHO THE FEDERATION AKA YOUR CHARACTER IS AT WAR WITH decided to barge into federation space and demand that your character turn over a federation diplomat based solely on their say so and get mad if you ask for proof of their accusations.
Honestly if you're character were planning to hand the ambassador over at that point they should be court-martialed for treason.
The nature of a game is that the PC often racks up a remarkable resume. If the game were about your char achieving the mundane, it wouldn't be as compelling.

Wow, it's almost as if this game -where your character ends up to be the biggest badass in the current universe yet still doesn't get the proper respect they deserve- is a MMO!
7. I ended conflict with both the Voth AND Species 8472.
Maybe I missed something, but where did the Voth ever end their conflict with us? The one Voth commander who showed up at the Turei homeworld was willing to work together against the Vaadwaur, but as far as I can tell the Voth in general are still very much at war with the Alpha/Beta quadrant powers.
Thats because the Klingons WHO THE FEDERATION AKA YOUR CHARACTER IS AT WAR WITH decided to barge into federation space and demand that your character turn over a federation diplomat based solely on their say so and get mad if you ask for proof of their accusations.

Pretty much this. Even if the Vulcan was acting a little peculiar (could have been suffering from Bendii Syndrome *shrug*) to start with, if you're just going to hand over an ambassador to the enemy, no questions asked, I don't want you in my military.
Which I acknowledged, noting it as sarcasm. (An Aspie wouldn't be able to do that.) It still wouldn't be able to legally happen, so considering the idea was to mock the writing by drawing up an absurd scenario, there's better strawmen available that are still IP friendly.... Such as pulling in Kelvans or Pah-Wraiths or Apollo for that matter.
Suggesting, albeit humorously, illegal IP crossovers defeats the critique you're trying to make.

Again, I'm not going to list how many mistakes your character does make, how many things they're unable to do, and how many people they fail to save, over the course of every episode.
Were the KDF right when they said you had a Undine shapeshifter on board? YES.
Did you make a mistake? YES.
Does everyone in the universe love your character and is your character always right? NO.
That is all that matters in proving that your character isn't a Mary Sue/Gary Stu.
And you are still being bossed around by Lt Commander durr to get him 20 self sealing stem bolts - AND YOU LOVE IT! :P

Just because you played it doesn't mean you have to include it in your character's personal story.
I usually mix it up.
For example, my main , who is KDF, lead the two decisive engagements against the Vaadwaur on Kobali Prime and later the Vaadwaur homeworld.
My Reman did all the missions that were about subterfuge.
Pretty much this. Even if the Vulcan was acting a little peculiar (could have been suffering from Bendii Syndrome *shrug*) to start with, if you're just going to hand over an ambassador to the enemy, no questions asked, I don't want you in my military.
While this is a valid point, the accusation here is quite serious and with the preceding events (refusal to use transporters, extremely emotional response to being denied access to P'Jem, equally emotional response to being granted access, lets face it, it's well known Vulcans don't do emotions) it is worth at least scanning the bloke with internal sensors for any evidence of the Klingon's accusation. If Cryptic must include combat in the mission, they simply have to make it so the Klingons don't like the idea of A you handing the Undine to Starfleet Intelligence and B being asked to leave Federation space.
If I had a military, I would rather my officers investigated such accusations and making a more informed decision than blindly following orders.
