Alien Female Romulan side changes race to Romulan and applies costume restrictions.

When choosing the female alien species on green side, it changes your race automatically to Romulan instead of Alien at level 10, and applies some costume restrictions from character creation, such as height being the bottom restriction of 5'6, wheras the alien normally has 4'6. In game, your race is displayed as Alien until you comple the choosing sides mission at level 10, of which your race is changed to Romulan.
This does not happen to Starfleet or Klingon characters. Nor does it happen to the male on Romulan side. It is only specifically the female alien on Romulan side.
It has been 5-6 months since I've been on, and this was present then. however, back then, the change only occurred after choosing your path at level 10. Up till then, you were still alien, and the restrictions were not present. But now, it is from the very start. The character creation has this restriction.

I spent a little time and created a new character to see if this was still present, and it is.

All three characters of mine are alien female for romulans, and they all have this error. Have you tried going to the costume editor and checking the minimum height? For aliens it should be 4'6.
As said, this is also upon creating a new character.
Check your female allien romulans character info. If it says Alien, then I'm not sure what's going on. But for me it says Romulan.

I am not the only person having this issue.
A newly created female alien romulan shows race as Alien. But in the past, it did until level 10 when you chose a side. I'm not sure I'm patient enough to get to level 10 and choose a side to see if this still occurs, so I can't say whether or not that particular bug at that point has been fixed. But prior to, when it was present, the height restriction was applied at that level 10 point. Up until then, the tailor bug was not there. Wheras now, it is always there.
At that point aswell in the past, any costume you may have had before level 10 remained alien throughout, until you modified and saved it, at which point your race would become romulan, and any additional costume slots you opened up would also be Romulan.
I guess I'll spend the day replaying through this past bug to see if anything has changed.

I have a difficult time believing this is account tied.
Even after this point, the costume bug is still present.

One would think so. But they tried to fix it like two times I think. They had a fix in the tribble notes at one point, I was overjoyed, tried it on tribble, did not work. So they just deleted the line from the patch notes and ignored the bug without further comment.
I think it took like a year of reporting for them to actually admit the bug existed in the first place. And I suspect they always try to fix the char creation alien which works fine and not the race we become at lvl 10. But that is just a guess at my part.
Honestly I would expect the problem could be fixed in 5min if we could just talk to a programmer directly. Other than miscommunication I can not imagine a possible reason why they failed to fix this already.
Than again maybe there is somwthing beyond my understanding going on. Anyway all we can do is keep reporting it. An ig ticket or a thread every few months and hope at some point they will actually fix it.
A bit of history on the side: with the release of the romulan faction they actually wanted the romulan aliens to have limited size. But after a short time they descided to give them more options, probably due to player feedpack. When the patch hit char creation allowed for what we have now but at lvl 10 you were stuck with the old restrictions. I guess they forgot that something happens at lvl 10. My guess would be the faction is part of the race and by choosing a faction you change your race. That would mean there are 3 romulan aliens and they only fixed one. That is just a theory on my part.
Anyway the bug is as old as the romulan expansion. Or more accurately the bug exists since they descided to give romulan aliens more options soon after the expansion.
I guess we could plan an awareness party for the 2 year anniversary of this bug this summer. While this bug gets reported regularly there are still too few to make cryptic care.

That would be wonderful but it is unlikely. What I would also really like is a statement from cryptic. Someone saying that they are aware that the bug still exists and that we will get a fix sometime.

Thanks STO! I'm REALLY happy. Hopefully, it's fixed "universally" and not just on my character. I'm just glad she's 7 foot tall again.
