Go to the Reputation tab. Go down to Upgrades Available. It takes you to the same Selective Active Project section of the Contribute tab, even though the available projects will vary from the standard projects. Once you've selected an upgrade, it changes the window to state Select Next Project. If you want to cancel that upgrade (I'm looking at the one for Isos), the button to cancel it states Cancel Project. If you click it, it comes up with the warning window...Cancel Active Project, if this project is cancelled, yadda yadda yadda.
So how are they not projects when everything says they are projects?
And the blog stated that Rep projects get no bonus...vs...the line before saying the E-Marks would.
That's contradiction, that's on Cryptic - creating that confusing scenario; but it's not bait and switch by any means.
edit: Don't get me wrong, I'm not happy about it...it's just I was pissed about it yesterday when the blog went up and not pissed about it today by surprise having expected something else. I went my typical pessimist route with Cryptic and figured they were going to TRIBBLE us.
They've said EVENT Rep project get no bonus. There is no contradiction. Turning in marks, BNP , injectors , etc is not an EVENT rep project. no confussion at all
It's just arrogant of them to just change stuff willy nilly go against their screen announcements and such. I have friends trying to get me to play other games yet i have stayed loyal and still stayed in game and continued to spend money and support the game. Since they don't want to support us or anything i see no reason to stay loyal to them. My wallet is now closed.
Eh, don't blame on malice what stupidity adequately explains. Odds are the original was just copy/pasted thoughtlessly and they had to make a change when someone at Cryptic caught it.
This is still a stupid, ridiculous, unnecessary change that shouldn't have happened and you're damn right I'm mad about it but it's not proof positive that Cryptic is evil.

I can understand if one man made a mistake; but the news is on a public website. Their own. So, nobody at Cryptic even reads it?

Completing a Reputation, the example given, is not an Event Reputation Project either...
...seriously, it's just easier to expect the worst and possibly be pleasantly surprised than expect anything better and always be raging about something.

The incorrect wording in the original announcement could be chalked up to sheer absent-mindedness, sure, but the actual change to how the dilithium event works, and no forewarning about this change, reeks of sheer, underhanded greed.
They don't want people getting a bonus from turning in all of the marks they have earned up till now. They want people out there grinding dilithium this weekend, so it shows up on their precious "metrics".

Ha,
It's more like they seek out the things that people like and crush them. So even expecting the worst, you will NEVER be pleasantly surprised.

I'm not necessarily sure that turning the other cheek and hoping they won't hit quite as hard this time, after being hit previously, is a healthy attitude, either.
Or hoping against hope that they kiss your cheek instead. That starts to sound like an abusive relationship...

But it's just a game...it's not a marriage or anything of the sort. If it actually starts to feel like an abusive relationship, we're free to walk away.
If Dil weren't so freaking easy to get in the game, if folks weren't constantly posting about wanting an increase to the refine cap because Dil is so freaking easy to get in the game...I'd have probably been more than just ticked about it.

Keep up the great work Cryptic! Your missteps never upset me...they only amuse me....and they seem to be getting better!
On the heels of another recent failed update...in which the forums lit up like a Christmas tree...you manage to make the most ill timed decision you could make...the mark to dilithium nerf...
Not only do members of your development and technology team seem to consistently upset players ...but now...your marketing team? Could this decision have been made at a worse time!?
WTF are you guys thinking!?
This level of marketing ineptitude is remarkable!
Again ...keep it up guys! Because just when you think things couldn't get any worse......

This game had a lot of pleasant surprises some while ago; but since the crafting revamp i can't remember anything notable. Raging has build up slowly but surely.
And i just simply can't believe this was a simple copy paste/mistake; neither giving a 99% proc to the neweste lockbox weapon. And not copy/paster a vastly superior version of Mat'ha in the same lockbox. It's just marketing strategy.

This is the thing, it's easy if you dump hours per day into this game. As a casual, I will agree that dil is not that hard to get, but these Dil weekends are something I look forward to because I can get a little extra bang for my buck. Especially being a casual with 3 alts, it gives me some catch-up time with characters I don't play as much (and I can dump marks I got from events into dil).
With them making this a game I need to play for at minimum 2 - 3 hours per day, its just not fun anymore. As such I don't want to spend money on it because I don't have that time to devote to this game that they are making necessary.
One of the things I loved about this game was that it actually was casual friendly. But they have decided to take on the whales who have no problem playing this constantly, and dumping tons of money into it, and decided that causal's don't matter. That is a shame.
It's now harder to get the post-400 bonus on Dil mining as they updated it so the last run of mining only pays out 25 per click. They also made the crosshair blurry which makes it a bit harder to align.
Aside form THAT BS, WHY, oh WHY did they take out the Rep projects where you turn in rep marks? That just seems so...petty!!

I just posted another bug report about the Achilles' Heel I - as long as you keep critting, you can maintain the debuff indefinitely instead of just the 5s duration (and some other things with it).
There is definitely that frustration that's building...sometimes I joke about it, I don't want to punch my monitor - I can't afford to replace it right now - but it feels like there have been more bugs since DR than there have been in the 2-3 years leading up to it.
IMHO, they had started getting a handle on things - they'd started clearing up tooltips - and things were starting to get better. Hell, even the game itself - they were taking steps to make things more alt-friendly with the other stuff, they'd been reducing costs, etc, etc, etc.
DR's been such an about face on so many things...whether it's bending the players over intentionally or unintentionally with bugs...
It's kind of mind-boggling just how bad it's gotten so relatively fast.
Don't think Cryptic's ever been so disconnected from the game and completely out of touch.
I'm gonna bet that they tried to remove the reward for JUST the end of rep reward and found they could not without a big TRIBBLE code re-write so they just removed the 50% from all rep reward.
If I'm not mistaken the Tier 5 reward gave no bonus during the last Dilithium (Non)Event.
I can see the discussions at Cryptic right now: "I told you all we didn't need to run a Dil Bonus Weekend, we didn't run any during QWW, why during the 5th Anniversary? But nooo... you insisted that we throw the players a bone, we give them an event even though we're already running an event, and look what it got us! Rants! B****ing! People cursing us out! See if we do THAT again!"

This. Who-his-face who posted in this thread about earning over 2 Million EC and others like hm are nit helping the cause. At all. This is why TD got nerfed.

Surely there's a holiday being celebrated somewhere in the world they could go on?
