I cannot move around ESD without being whipped back!

STO is now completely unplayable because I cannot do a simple thing like moving around Earth Space Dock without whipping back and forth. I cannot make purchases of any ships or anything because of this glitch!

FIX THIS! Until then I am not returning to the game until the patch fixes this TRIBBLE. If I cannot simply walk or run around to get my items, I don't see the point.

Me too....This is known as "rubber banding".....It makes the ESD unplayable and it's happening at the Academy as well. This makes getting to Q for the party patrols a bear (it can be done but it's a pain trying to anticipate where to head as to where you actually end up), as well as making the assignment "party patrol" impossible as you can't judge where you'll end up in relation to the fleeing party dodger....

Not sure what you guys need to fix, but it needs to happen soon.

Just as an afterthought, it was pretty crappy having to pay for skills my boffs had 2 days ago with this new system. Whats worse is I don't play my alts much since DR as one toon to upgrade is expensive enough, and in some cases I'm not even sure what skills I had.....Time has a way of making you forget...So thanks for that confusion too.

Yea you are not the only one, my whole fleet is complaining about this.

For now i'll try it over about 2 days again to play STO. If still rubber banding then i'll skip this years event.

Same issue since 18:00GMT yesterday, game is unplayable, some solid confirmation from the devs would be really nice where they're at with it.

Also can we expect as this seems a pretty common issue that the anniversary event will be extended?

I'm just trying to avoid ESD/SFA for now. I've got better things to do than to mess around there anyway.

yes this is very annoying, if I didn't HAVE to go to ESD i would avoid it all together. No mention in the last patch notes that this was fixed or even in known issues.

I appreciate all the hard work that you all have put into the game. That being said this is really disappointing to not be able to have fun with the new content. with all the rubber banding and glitches that are happening it makes the game unplayable. With the game now in it's 5th anniversary I would have thought that things like this would be in the past. The winter event had a lot of problems as well. I think it's only fair that the event get extended so everyone has a fair chance at getting the new rewards.

I liked when I transported off of ESD, just to reappear back on it.
Have you tried the new forum on your phone?

I agree, extend the event so everyone can complete it while you sort out the problems.

Right now, I can't even get to Q on ESD because the rubberbanding is so bad and it's been like this since the event went live. Even the emergency maintainance didn't make much difference.

Yep, rubber-banding in Earth Space Dock. Where I went because of the new BOFF bug that replaces their some of their skills with randomly selected other skills. Clearly the game does not want me to walk over to the BOFF trainer and fix that..."You WILL use Tractor Beam II and you will LIKE it, soldier!!"

You know a game is in trouble when WALKING FORWARD doesn't work properly.

They probably still have their old skills, they're just not active. You can fix it by going to the Stations tab, and changing their active abilities.

While I agree that the rubber banding effect in this game skyrocketed yesterday with the launch of the "anniversary event," if you are having trouble getting over to Q, there are two solutions.

    1. If you are already on ESD (or your respective social hub), try switching to an instance with the least amount of people. I've noticed this reduces the lag to a more "tolerable" level...if you can call any lag tolerable.

    2. Or you can just "hail" Q by pressing J on the keyboard and selecting the big picture advertising the event on the right side of the window that pops up. You can get all of Q's missions and turn them in without ever actually needing to go to him physically.

    Hi There
Just thought I'd mention that the rubberbanding I'm getting and reading about appears to be in Earth Spacedock and Starfleet Academy ONLY
I didn't get any in the new featured episode and I can move around ok on DS9 and Qo'nos first city
and yes it is VERY ANNOYING!!!!!!!!

Same problem went to vulcan and K7 had no problems. Once i beamed into ESD there was a ton of lag. Every player in the same zone as me was rubberbanding something fierce. Zone chat was full of colorful expletives and banter about the problem. Took me 2 minutes to get from transporter pad to the exchange. One step forward 4 back. Finally gave up and logged out. Time for me was around 11:40am Est.

I'm usually pretty tolerant of issues as i know how complex servers and programming can be but lately with the issues i've been having i'm getting close to finding something else to play that's more stable. I find it rather frusterating to even attempt playing STO lately.

Well as of 1600 GMT -5, the rubberbanding issue seems to have been alleviated on ESD and at the Academy.

However there is an ongoing problem with mini-Qs at the academy being two in one, which is a pain for the shell game.

Was there some kind of stealth update or did the zone reset thing finally go through?

Was hellish rubberbanding at that time. Played till 19.00 GMT and still the same issue. Gave up and logged off as I couldn't even complete the Omega mini-game. A huge case of 10 steps forward 9.5 steps back!

Yeah it has been hell trying to redo all my officers. If they had officer training on DS9 or some where else it wouldnt be to bad. But Earth space dock and even the academy are hell to go to. Takes for ever to get to the trainer and if you even do it takes a long time to train everyone up while you are there.

1900 Greenwich Mean Time? That's 1400 US Eastern Standard Time which is GMT -5. I was referring to two (and a half) hours after that.

That said I can only speak for myself, but after running my alts through some DOFFing and Dust to Dust I got back to Spacedock and the temporal anomaly seemed to have passed. Rubberbanding on Earth was almost gone.

I went through that. Vicious trying to train one officer. So much smoother on New Romulus.

you can always visit the delta quadrant command. it has a trainer too, but the place's kind of deserted so there's no lag there.

ds9 could use a trainer though.
Now clowns, that's another story. They scare the crap out of me.
We fight them too. Entire armies spilling out of Volkswagens.
We do our best to fight them off, but they keep sending them in.
