Didn't I put my 2 cents in on another thread about my outrage over a revamp of a system that didn't need to be fixed over issues that have been "known" for YEARS and haven't even been breathed on? Is this a surprise then that the "oh-so-needed-revamp" DOESN'T WORK?

Is it foretelling that the "Omega" is showing up more and more often in the last few months? Having it start showing up during the sphere's introduction and becoming more and more prevalent as time goes on, makes you wonder if there's a motive or meaning to it ("Omega" being an ending).
Yah yah, diss this as a "doom" post, but I'd put more stock in a game that was actually DEVeloped by employees that seemed like they'd at least be able to put a simple print-loop program together in BASIC.

Guy I work with used to play STO on a casual basis. He got super-involved with a guild on WoW and stopped playing STO. Last year, I actually got him to log in and play for a bit. Then the &#*+ started happening and I can't bring myself to encourage him to play anymore. Today I mentioned in passing that the 5 Year Anniversary was starting. He said "Oh, really?" All I could say from there was that the servers would be down for a bit. Would have felt guilty saying more. That isn't the way we should feel when telling others about this game.

This is like a bad joke played on us all. And to top it off the stupid loadout bug is back as soon as they added this ani TRIBBLE to the game. Its so freaking pathetic that they can't even get their own 5 year ani right. They have zero excuse for this. And the loadout bug is a year old and they can't even fix that. You know what they will do too. Put out a lame hotfix that will break something else. So freaking pathetic.

After the fiasco with "Tides of Ice" and it's accolades etc. I'd have thought they'd atleast try to do some serious QA on their upcoming events.

the mistake your making is to ASSume the dev's care that this stuff works. The only thing that Cryptic cares about now is milking the metrics. I don't think they even care if the content is fun to play any more, so long as they have us logging in every day.

btw i am thankful some toons have 400 already from last year... now 800... grind this mini game for 5 days and be done with it...
some toons are not so lucky... not here from last year... so need to grind the full 600 doing this cruddy mini game where you need to go to 3 different locations.

sure as hell not gonna do this once this is over. it's not fun at all.

on fed toon, ferengi and the ESD scan can not be done at all... lag is amazing bad there.
mini game starts up and ends almost immediately. zero points with a red trace.
on my nausicaan i could get up to 1k points...
off to check out how bad this at andoria and ds9 and drozana...
