The Vaadwaur Lockbox comes loaded up with tons of fearsome ships. From the deadly Manasa Assault Escort to the mighty Astika Heavy Battlecruiser, this armada of ships is the newest force to warp into Star Trek Online!
The bridge visuals, at least, look interesting even though I won't get the ship. Coming soon to a Foundry near us?

I find it somewhat funny that we're getting a playable Vaadwaur fighter - basically the only "canon" vessel of this species, as it has been seen on screen - but none of the Vaadwaur ships come with a Hangar Bay.
And I still think that the "consolation prize" ships should either be given a 13th boff slot or an 11th console slot after upgrading to T5U. It's just sad to see these designs ending up as subpar ships, even after spending money on an upgrade.

We have a Ferengi shuttle and no Ferengi carrier, a Temporal shuttle and now Temporal carrier. This isn't unusual at all.
Does the Polaron Barrage Launcher have increased firing range? Something like the Long-Range Destabilized Tetryon Heavy cannon from the Hirogen lobi set? After all this is supposed to be artillery fire, right?
On a side note I wish you would play around with different firing ranges more often. This would make battle much more interesting.

Does kind of seem as if the Heavy Battlecruiser ought to have a hangar bay.
The T6 Escort seems like a good ship, if not OP. That Polaron Barrage would be nifty to have, and the Starship Trait "Frontal Assault" will be highly sought after. If I got one (dream on) I'd have to think hard about whether to sell it or keep it.
Eh, I'd probably sell it. Admiral Deeldor still kinda wants his D'Kora, and a large amount of "pocket change" left over.
And in regard to the APU, I wonder what "versatile bridge officer seating arrangement" will translate to. Since it's not T6, no Command specialist slots. So maybe some universal BOFF slots?

TRIBBLE you and that escort. Horrifyingly stupidly overpowered to a level I never expected. Words aren't enough to describe how disappointed (read: to not use other words) I am with you all.
I'm struggling to maintain a civil attitude right now. Think.

In other words: you want it, desperatly. And you're willing to pay any price.
Well, I am glad to see a playable APU ship; sucks that it is only T5 though. Why would anyone even want a new T5 these days? It's not like the rank requirements are different.
"On the Heavy Battlecruiser, exiting Assault Mode will cripple nearby enemies' sensors by placating all nearby foes."
For God's sake, why do we need more placates in this game? It's bad enough that they made a return after all the grief we went through with Romulan rep one, now they're spreading.

Come to War Thunder my fellow PvP pal. We have Supermarine Spitfires. And Flying Fortresses, and Mustangs. And cookies for everyone!
In STO cookies turned in HCl (read, hydrochloric acid).

You can start flying it at level 40, and it replaces the old mirror ships as the small prize. T6 you need to be 50.
For those who can't afford the 68-ish million for lobi ships, or the 100-ish million for lockbox ships spending 200k-ish ec plus the option of another 8-ish million for 5u is a very affordable option.

Not unless you consider a single ensign uni to be "versatile". Here's the APU boff layout:

I thought that by now everyone got used to the idea that "New = OP".
i think with some of the vaadwaur ships having a more elongated look ... and any other ship with a long hull .. why not add a left and right weapon slots. giving a more area coverage. i state this if anyone has seen any anime the longer bigger ships fire from the sides as well if not all the time. maybe even have a 2 fore and 2 aft, and 3 left and 3 right (probably to keep simple you add 3 slots for left and right as a package, so whatever they have slotted in the slots count for both) ... i know it may be more work but i have seen some long ships that could really also benefit from having a front weapon, back weapon and combine the left and right so the bigger long ships don't always have to be beams to get max coverage. they could put things and mix it up .. so sto dev's look into anime for ideas (space fights and all)

I will take it. I have no problems using T5s. Still use them as my main ships. As only T6 I have is the Breen Carrier.

This is good. Hope one day I can add it to my ship fleet. However until then I will do without. I still want the JHDC and Apex. Oh well, that is for the ones who really wants it.

Both of the starship traits are pretty damn amazing on those Vaadwaur ships. Many players will get the ships for the traits alone. On top of that, the escort is plain OP. Very high shield mod? Check. Above average turn rate? Check. 5 frontal weps? Check.
The battlecruiser seems more down to earth, but is still very resilient and need I repeat the trait is crazy?

Yeah, seems like they not only aren't trying to hide it, now they scream this fact to our faces. (In regards to the escort, anyway.)

APU is a fail from my perspective. It was the T6 ship I was most looking forward too when Delta was first talked about and I would have spent well to have gotten it. Now it's useless. I'm sad.

They kinda dropped the ball on the APU. Even if they wanna keep it a vanilla Tier 5, they could have given it a much more interesting Boff layout. Great how they described it as versatile in the previous blog, lol.

Unless... of course... there's a Vaadwaur Dreadnought coming "soon" as some sort of R&D/Doff promotion grand prize...
Well never say never... It might happen.

Because its a front line ship not a command vessel, and as a nod to people with zen/delta pack Intel officers.
A!so because there will be a bunch of zen command ships hitting the store soon and this is probably the last Intel vessel well see.
