Paratrinic Shield Array absent

The Paratrinic Shield Array seems to be absent from the mission "Test of Mettle" for the purpose of redoing the mission for upgrading the rewarded item. Initially doing the "Test of Mettle" mission does have the rewards besides experience. This applies to original KDF characters.

I tried this with my other factioned toons & it is present. Federation's "Past Imperfect" & Romulan's "Tradecraft" seems to still be allowing the acquisition & upgrading of the Paratrinic Shield Array.

If this item has been moved to another mission then I apologize for the hastiness. Thank you for your time. If accidently removed or intentional ... WHY??? I use that shield to cheaply outfit my KDF toons :-) Again, thanks for your time.

    As I'm leveling-up my KDF I noticed I cannot upgrade that Paratrinic Shield neither. Federation & Romulan can keep upgrading it as normal but not KDF.

    Has it ever been officially addressed? Is this 2 out of 3 having access to upgrading this item intentional or accidental?

    I was just hoping to use it as my main shield as I leveled along along with the plasma-disruptors which are upgradeable. :-)

    Thanks if anyone has any, official, information.

    Seems to be a bug from way back, either 9.0 or 8.5 update removed the reward (presumably by accident). Its a nice shield but you can get a cap2 cov blue or purple off the exchange for cheap so its not game breaking.

    Have they, Cryptic, acknowledged that they are aware of that Paratrinic Shield not being upgrading for KDFs versus the other factions? Yea yea, it is a minor issue, but was there a reason it got dropped from KDF but not Fed nor Rom or just an oversight? If not the Test of Mettle mission then bring it back in another mission as an optional reward. Sure glad I didn't sell mine the other day.

    Bugger!

    I'm leveling-up a KDF currently & in the mid 20s. Wanted to upgrade my level 4 PSA. It's not going to happen I just saw & read till this gets a fix LOL. I read these patch notes & nothing mentioned in this patch, but reading the previous posts in this thread & another I realize this has been a longtime issue. Seems like a simple fix, place the darn item back into the mission reward LOL if not the original mission somewhere else even as an option would suffice.

    Is there another mission or way to obtain the Paratrinic Shield Array for the Klingon side???

    My three characters are all fairly new: 1 Fed, 1 KDF, & 1 Rom, but the KDF character is the only one not able to redo the mission to get the Paratrinic Shield Array again by redoing that mission???

    That seems a bit unfair & unbalanced since the other two sides: Fed & Rom can.

    Has anyone, officially, answered why 2 out of the 3 factions can keep getting that paratrinic shield through redoing missions?

    I just quickly read-over these patch notes for Jan. 29th '15 & didn't see anything mentioned about the Paratrinic Shield Array being reintroduced for the KDF faction.

    I remember when it used to be retainable by redoing the storyline mission then long ago for ONLY KDF it was taken-out of play. Fed & Rom can still acquire it at the MK XI level by redoing the mission.

    Does anyone know if Cryptic has even ever address it? Their reasoning for pulling it for only KDF, their acknowledge of "oops we'll get on that", or anything else?

    Is it a big issue compared to most of the glitches ... nope, but then why does it seem so difficult to fix?

    This Jan. 29th '15 patch is introducing a LOT of things! Hopefully many of these features will improve the game experience. Now to figure-out what to do with all my storage BOFFs. Too bad they wont let us turn them in for the dilithium they say they are worth.
