After the live stream his build is about 75% complete. It's missing a good keybind/power rotation, an AMP core, and most importantly: strategy and tactics, timing and positioning... In the days following the live cast Elijah's DPS has gone up to 22k DPS. pretty much tripling from where he was before. He's on tract for hitting 30-40k but additional updates to his build will probably have to wait for the next stream
I thought it was unfair that we spent 2 hours on Elijah's build so after the live stream i passed cookiecupcakes one of my unpublished builds. ironically i told her to just thrown on whatever beam weapons she had on hand, she had blues and purples, mk12s with random mods.
With some coaching from Ryan, Porchsong, and myself; she's jumped from a recorded 7.6k DPS to 31k DPS in one week. That's a 4x increase.
her build is 90% complete, all she needs is to polish her flight skills and (later) standardize her weapon loadouts and she should be hitting well into the 40-50k range.
Good job to both of you
Oh the power of exchanging useful information. Wonderful :P
I think I just heard all my characters cry out:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=np9Hb9IrhaI
<insert 17x increase joke here>
yeah that's what I heard too
shhh! we haven't shown them the "/exploit 17x" yet.
Free Tibet!
I've been preaching most of it for a while now, but I managed to pick up a few nice tips as well(completely overlooked the aux->offensive Nukara trait; I didn't realize it was "bonus damage").
Another great interview. Thank you for asking questions with heft.
It's unfortunate that a month and a meme have to pass before they clarify what was said. Gecko's unscripted remarks did more to damage the perception that the team was out of touch with players in general than the 4 weeks of loadout glitches did.
Taco's recent comments on the hurtful nature of the meme did not go unnoticed. Point taken.
For me I've never been concerned about the ongoing future of the game, but rather on the direction Cryptic is taking. The changes have had an effect at least with the people I used to play with. Things are reforming, but it's a shame so many I knew left.
Hearing that they have a solid plan for the next year and that Smirk can't wait to geek out and tell us is very reassuring and exciting. Who knows - maybe this may be the catalyst to get them back in the game.
As for the queues: However successful 1 guy testing may find the system, it's not an accurate view if you limit yourself to one time during the busiest part of the day. That's simply unrealistic. The good news is that they are listening, starting focus groups, and are at least committed to rebalancing them.
As for R&D - IMO it's faster leveling by research. One alt has become a crafting monster having maxed out the proper doffs and attained lvl 15. The rate of development by crafting items isn't as competitive whether your 5th or 15th level in a school.
And I'm not sure how much fun playing the crafting lottery is VS playing STF's. Now that I have 'some' Triple D + Pen weapons, maybe I can get back to actually using them to blow stuff up.
Looking forward to your next podcast.

i think Sarcasmdetector is the women.
They should not have commented on it, one way or the other
Sarcasmdetector is cookiecupcakes!!!!!1!! Another riddle solved. This makes me think of Ace Ventura...Finkle and Einhorn...
Go to the shipyard page, they share builds quite often through the skill planner and YouTube.
It's pretty much a solid guarantee everything won't be timegated dil sinks like the 20 hour boff gates.
Just like I am sure the patrol grinding for text specialization points is entirely in the past
That's what, 1200 patro missions now @ around 2 months?
That's 7200 patrol missions per character a year.
Or 20 patrol missions per character each day to keep up with a bunch of non-animation text passives.
No doubt you recorded this in your usual way, lighthearted and taken with a pinch of salt, but i don't have any more room for smoke in my posterior.
I'll listen to the next episode without anyone from cryptic on.
Worded perfectly, lol.
+1
I have never heard Smirk before in that kinda interview environment and he sounds genuinely enthusiastic about upcoming features - definitely made me excitied.
Alt-love... awesome stuff.
New systems to train boffs.. awesome (this has always been a limitation with the loadout system as you need multiple boffs/training constantly to switch)
Was interested in how he approached the 'signature' issue, he seemed to take it all with a pinch of salt and good humour (as I personally meant it to be taken). Unlike Taco.
Now if only they can look into the following issues:
XP gain and requirements for specialisation levelling - with a new spec tree put in this is getting a seriously tiresome grind with so little content actually rewarding decent XP. Also I hope love for alts includes something akin to specialisation sponsorship (half price spec progress once you complete a tree on one toon on an account).
Upgrade/crafting system - again needs alt love. I am not sure how this could be acheived, one potential is to have the ability to replicate/duplicate gear once its upgraded on one toon on an account to give to other toons for a considerable discount. Another potential is to increase TP/rarity % granted by a kit dependant on the SUM total of school levels ACROSS an account.
Rarity increase lottery is too greedy. There needs to be guaranteed rarity increases (potential that there should be max of 2 or 3 fills of mk 14 TP to guarantee a level increase). Also experimental tech should NOT cost more dil to apply than superior tech, in fact all dil costs should be reduced slightly (in the same way that material/EC cost was slightly decreased recently). will Also we NEED the ability to choose modifiers to roll to replace on an upgrade (and also the ability to choose mods on certain craftables like the SCI and ENG special consoles).
Ship system. I have already posted a suggestion on how ships should be handled.

Oh yer, and fix bugs

Based on what I've seen on Tribble, I like the new training system. It may not be exactly what everyone wanted but it is largely the kind of boff training system that players have been asking to be implemented for years.
No longer having to waste expertise improving up individual boff skills, keeping all skills that an individual boff has been trained in forever, and being able to switch a boffs trained skills on the fly with a click of a button any time you're not in combat anywhere in game are huge quality of life improvements that far outweigh that minimal 500 dilithium cost and 4 hour crafting time when creating when creating PADDS for skills that can only be trained by a player character. Plus all the old skills you needed from the skill trainers are still there available for ec.
My only concern is that currently on tribble rare skills that are only available from boff candidates, for example Beam Overload III, cannot be obtained under the new system. Once this oversight is corrected I will be very happy with the new system.
Nice! So far the max DPS I've hit is 14.5k!
If Cryptic can get away from those issues, I will have no problem with coming back to "Star Trek: Online". I will even buy more zen. However, I think Cryptic needs to have a serious change in philosophy.
Secondly, Cookie, don't pay any mind to Skiffy. You continue to do the R+D school how you're doing it. No one has time to sit there and babysit projects. Doing the daily may not be the most efficient way, but it is the best way. A couple of tips. Level them all to 10 first, should take two rounds, be sure to include Beams and Ground Weapons in the first round. Use the extra slots on the 2nd round of getting schools to 10 to get Beams and Ground weapons to 15, and your choice on how ever many slots are left.
If you find you have time to do actual crafting, then craft Improved Tech Upgrades and upgrade your equipment to Mk 13.

Pretty sure she's just one. Unless she's account sharing...
Thanks Mighty! @Metrikon (Ben) does a phenomenal job at bringing Jake's words to life! It's super-fun!
I like that they are improving the boff training, but I have a huge problem with adding a double time sink to it. First with 4 hour time gates, then with a currency that is time gated itself.
They didn't add a time or dil gate to revamped episodes and other improvements or fixes. Why should they do this to a game function that was completely free?
What's next, a 4 hour 500 dil project to craft 'ship dedication plates' to rename our ships in a flashy new interface?
Edit-
Honestly, with all the extra grindy stuff added, I'm being bled to death. I'd say this is a bridge too far, but that was a couple bridges ago...
