We've seen the Command BOFF abilities for a yet-to-be released command boff (or the ability to cross train existing BOFF's), and now the Command specialization tree for captains has been explained more.
What could we possibly see next?
We know a T6 variant or retrofit of the Vesta is coming soon. We know that fleet variants of the new T6 ships are also due.
Cryptic is unfazed by the escalation of DPS and shows no signs of slowing down.
While there are many who want to see a true Federation Dreadnought, including those who support the Jupiter-class project, I think the federation will go another direction.
A true Capital Class vessel, perhaps a strategic-cruiser with a focus on Command capabilities. The 'strategic' cruiser would be T6, and have an elevated capability over current command cruiser designs (Bortasqu, Odyssey).
I'm imagining Lt Commander seating in Science and Tactical. Perhaps even having flight deck capacity.
Perhaps a free version during the Anniversary event, with a 3-pack for Federation players shortly thereafter or a Fleet version.
Ah this discussion is making me giddy - T6 vesta and Enterprise?? You've given me the vapors. I do declare.
Captain Jean-Luc Picard: "We think we've come so far. Torture of heretics, burning of witches, it's all ancient history. Then - before you can blink an eye - suddenly it threatens to start all over again."
"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."
Odd thing about this is that a fair chunk of the Command powers are buffs to torpedoes, but cruisers usually make pretty poor torpedo platforms due to low turning and unsuitable boff stations. You certainly can, but they don't particularly shine in the role. It seems a mismatch.

What's your best guess?
Ya know... not only Federation players play this game right?

My bad - I was speaking to feds only. I should have said... KDF and Romulans as well.
But given the overall 'unequal' treatment of the KDF and Romulans in the recent Delta Operations Pack, in the back of my mind I thought they (Cryptic) may continue the trend.

For shame! :P
Actually, you're right. Though I strongly dislike the fact that it is so.
He took questions about the design process and the tools he was using. He confirmed it was for STO.
It was kind of interesting taking a peek at his Twitter there ( https://twitter.com/yard2380 ); for some odd reason if I even try to go to Twitch the browser lets out a scream that can be heard even without speakers attached.
I said it about the Winter Event and I'll say it about the Anniversary...instead of yet another ship, which people will probably only use for five minutes, how about something special for the ships we're already flying and love?
Actually 80% of why I went to the effort of getting that Breen Ship is so I can use that Ship Mastery Trait on my Fleet Corsair ;p So even if you do not want to use the Anniversry ship you may want the ship trait for your primary ship.
If they start releasing T6 versions of T5(u) ships, I hope they offer a discount for those people who've already paid for the originals. I wouldn't have upgraded my Vesta to T5U had I known T6 was coming.
if Cryptic was unfased by the DPC escalation, why did they cut traits we earned back to only 4? Now that they have botched the new mission upgrades, I want the traits I worked for in reps back..
Mark Rademaker is working on a Vesta Refit design, but it's not for STO. However, he did state that if Cryptic was "interested" in using the design for a T6 ship, he would be open to the idea. It's ultimately up to Cryptic if they wish to make a T6 Vesta and use Mark's design.

Just saying... it'd be nice.
Hate to burst your bubble, but have you forgotten about the Pathfinder? Its a tier 6 sci vessel with the Intrepid model. Its 3000 Zen with no discount from any previous Intrepid version. So its very unlikely.
And if you do get your discount on the Vesta, it would flare up the Intrepid fans who didn't get the same treatment. Either way, someone loses.

I would and did - 5 bucks for 3 to 6 months of flying.
I will also buy the T6 vesta the instant it is offered.

Still don't have a tactical focused "Yesterday's Enterprise" themed Galaxy class that would make money hand over fist for Cryptic. We already have a "All good things" alternate reality Galaxy Dreadnought, so why not? They could use the opportunity to give the ship a canon proper model.
will You Buy The T7 Vesta The Instant It Is Offered?
The T8?
T9?
................yes!!

Well, I've heard that Geko once said he wants the TNG bridge.
So maybe that's the Anniversary Ship - the good old USS Enterprise D Command Tier 6 Retrofit.
I'd buy that for a $. Or grind it for a week or however long the anniversary lasts and requires grinding.
Rademaker live streamed himself working on it on Twitch last week. I watched for about 25-30 minutes while he was working on the deflector array.

I want the Galaxy Class Battle Bridge, from the Engineering Hull.

It's probably a good opportunity to release Command Carriers(hopefully with associated Command Small Craft) for each faction as well.

Very true, however history has shown that the other factions get very little love.
Not to sound like a downer, but Mark does not work on STO, and his process is a far cry from how we build things.
That being said, it is indeed fun watching the refit come together, but it is completely unrelated to STO.

There's my prediction.

You're very eager to see things purchased with real money be obsoleted as fast as last month's raid gear.
