Cannot see any Zone/Local/any chat from other players

I've idled in Sirius Sector block and Earth Spacedock for over two hours each for the past 5 days and not a single person said anything despite 100s of people being on in each zone total

I've even watched a GM seemingly talking to other players in Zone chat but I can't see anyone talking other than the GM

All my chat channels are checked, they're set to on. I get System messages just fine, NPC messages, Combat, etc, but nothing pertaining to other human players. I can see chat in custom chat channels but absolutely nothing in Zone or Local

Either NOBODY talks at all in this game to anyone outside their Fleet, which I find hard to believe, or my whole account is bugged so I can never see another person talking outside of custom chat channels

I've spent money on the C-Store on my Silver Account so I know I should have no chat restrictions. Please help me out here. Disabling chat channels manually is one thing, but being forced into them always disabled for some odd reason is another

    I am having the same Issue. I can't see any type of text chat from any player not in my friends list. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. I have reset all my chat channels to default. I have searched the forums for an answer and found only this thread. Before I subscribed I could see the chat just fine.

    Do Devs even visit the forums anymore or am I just wasting my time looking for help here? I would ask for in game help but if you are not on my friends list I cant see your chat.

    How many characters do you have? I know this is an extremely long shot, but if you have more than 1, reset chat on both of them. Another game I'd lpayed a few years back had an issue where turning off chat on one character messed it up for others.

    Nope only got 1 character. thanks for the input tho, at least someone is willing to take a stab at it.

    I fixed it. In case anyone else finds this thread and is having the same issue. Goto social window and click on privacy in the bottom right. set all filters to on and then set back to off. It seemed to have reset something that was stuck in the system for me and all of my chats started working again. Hope this helps you out HotDoug.

    im have issue right now,, idled out because i fell asleep, and chat wont work for anything, channels are gone and wont recognize the or zone chat etc
