I'm trying to find more things to do in the game. (Other than the main story lines) I've been doing pretty much the same stuff every day and I've come to a point where I try to find things to add to my daily routine. I'm Vice Admiral (52) so I'm quite far into the game.
I'm kind of tired of Delta Rising since I'm stuck on a certain mission, which turns Delta Rising into Delta Crisis for me. And there is not much variation into it either. Patrolling one system where you have to fight a few waves of enemies here, do some emergency beam outs there. And then I go to the next system only to find out I have to do the same thing all over again. And Delta Rising seems to be focussed more on space than on ground. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong about this) If anyone has any hints to make Delta Rising more interesting, please let me know.
So, my list of daily activities:
- Visiting Q's Winter Wonderland and do all the stuff there.
- Farming Dilithum. So mining it from the asteroid, doing the daily missions etc.
- Have look at PvP but that is pretty much dead.
- Have look at PvE. Sometimes I get into a Borg mission but other than that, dead.
- Sniffing through the Exchange looking for stuff to waste my EC on.
- Having my Duty Officers work themselves to death to get the Dilithum and other stuff.
- Doing side missions that seem interesting.
- Zone battles in the Dyson Sphere.
Once I done all that I get bored and then I just go to Nimbus III being useless and killing scorpions.
So I wonder if there are some more things I can do?
When I get bored I go and explore every single system in every single sector block, looking for a patrol that'll be interesting or pay out a decent reward.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Simple answer: make new characters. Try different classes, races and factions. And even with one toon, you are still low lvl. Try to hit lvl 60. A bunch of new stuff are opened for you.
For me is the opossite. I cant find myself the time to actually do the things I want to do in-game. For me it seems there is too much to do, and only with 4 toons
This is going to sound very noobish actually.. I'm stuck on the last part of "Enemies in All the Usual Places". There is this Vaadwaur Heavy Artillery ship I have to fight. I only get about 4% of it's hull when he blows my ship to pieces. Once I managed to get it down to 18%. But then I got rekt again, respawning 50km away. I get back in range only to find the bloody thing back to 100%.

That doesn't sound noobish. Everyone has had trouble with that. Try the mission on Normal.
Also, if it's one of those missions you can do as part of a team (I can't remember) send me an invite and I'll blow things up with you.

I've been considering starting the Romulan side of the game but I just wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything out on Starfleet. I don't like the Klingon storylines, they somewhat overdid it on that side.
DR has a ground area on kobali with a lot of daily stuff to do but its not terribly rewarding for XP or anything. If you like ground, that is about it.
Foundry gives a daily dil reward and you can do a wide variety of missions including some ground action.
Nimbus is of little to no xp value and pointless. If you want mindless ground action, do the borg on defara or tholians on nukara ... both give quick XP from repeatable rep missions. I can make xp on nukara like mad but its dull after a couple of hours.
I have created a run of missions that I can repeat fast, but they are space based. For kdf I can fill an entire 1/2 hour with lowbie missions that take just a few min each for an xp payout.
farming dil is always done in parallel for me. That is, it is a reward on the side for doing other stuff... for example, DO assignment->contra->dil machine ... 5 min every few hours for 6k / day X 3 chars or 18k /day for minimal time invested. That and empire defense for xp, vendor trash loot, and dil, takes a rather high dps char to do it efficiently, though.
I dunno maybe you can find something from my daily list ..
before work:
set DO assignments on all chars (over 10, lost count) and crafting assignments on all, rep on any that need it. Includes contra turn-in.
after work, repeat DO assignments.
Pick a char to play -- I have 3 "mains". Do something.. stf (and many run, by the way, crystal, ice, khit, bug hunt, and a couple more will trip within a few min of entering the q). Do a round of missions for xp. Was doing the elachi mission every 30 for marks on a new char.
when timer hits (8 pm my time) do 3 ice races, refine ALL dil on ALL chars, and move it to a main. Upgrade something. Maintain crafting of upgrade items as well. Craft ongoing weapons projects (looking for full set of AP crafted to tier in cannon, beam array, and DBB all so its a long term goal).
go back to doing stf/mission repeats/stuff.
when bored, swap to another game ... done for the night.
at bedtime, do one last round of DO assignments.
Once a week, sell all excess crafting mats and such, hit the exchange and all.
This is why they have to continually come out with more queueable events/instances. There was a thread that someone started that asked, "What are you doing in the game?" Most people listed that they will queue up for one or another instance. The selection of these has to be expanded.
One thing that would be great I think is if you could sit on your bridge and go places and have the main view screen on your bridge show you the actual forward view. Then...just tooling around in space would become more interesting.

The Foundry missions.. I completely for forgot about those. Yeah I'm going to look into that. Kobali is a place I'm going to check out as well. Yes, I like to do Grounds and stuff. Lot's of interesting points you described here. I have my to do list written down in a simple notepad document so I can keep track of what I'm doing etc.

That would be awesome yes, as well interesting for roleplay, if any roleplay is being done in here.
I'm also curious to where people like to 'hang out' now and just have converstation or something. A few year's back I found many spots where people hung out to socialize but those places seemed to be deserted now.

There was a bug where an Elite NPC spawned with roughly 1.2M hit points. It should be fixed now.
Some pointers:
- Stay 5km out or the heavy artillery will "cloak" and spawn an assault ship.
- If you have problems with heavy shields, then use breen cluster torpedo or vaadwaur cluster
- Stay out of the wake of the HA since it drops tricobolt mines.
- The HA has no weapons on its flanks
- When targeted by a barrage, use emergency power to engines, engine battery, Deuterium Surplus or evasive maneuvers.
That doesn't sound noobish. Everyone has had trouble with that. Try the mission on Normal.

Not everyone, but enough people to take notice. Personally i liked the Elite NPC challenge.

I take it I need to do something before I can get in the Adventure Zone of Kobali? I'm the Kobali system now and I can't enter it.

With that in hand perhaps your build can be improved.

And Delta Rising seems to be focussed [sic] more on space than on ground. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong about this).
Yup--I remember as a kid hearing that opening narration as the first few bars of Alexander Courage's main theme rang out: "Dirt, the final frontier." My mom would call me to dinner and I'd yell back, "But ma--Dirt Trek is on!"
ST:Voyager's episodes were largely space-bound, weren't they? It seems to me DR follows that lead.
Anyway--you say that like it's a bad thing. I personally could play the entire game without ground missions and never be even the slightest bit bothered.

Oh no not at all. But I think it's a matter of preference as to more space or ground. I personally like space, but I also like to have it balanced with ground.

I used to be okay with either until DR launched, now I think Space has become a bit of a joke. I mean when you discourage build diversity it kinda makes one wonder why they bother.
Ground is still fun though, if anything the Elite ground missions we actually have are a complete joke. Any well functioning team will stomp them, which is a bit sad as I was hoping for a genuine challenge.
My advice to the OP is consider accolade hunting, it can become surprisingly fun if you're into that kinda thing.

I no longer do any Bug Hunting work for Cryptic. I may resume if a serious attempt to fix the game is made.

I was into Space alot when I started playing for the first time and it was fun. But as you said, Space has become less fun than it used to be.

I also added a new thing to the list I haven't tried before: Melee combat. I was on the Deferi homeworld fighting the borg and I saw someone using a Bat'leth to fight the drones, and it was very effective too. And I was like: okay I need to try that, so I'm trying to get skilled in using one of those. When fighting the borg I won't have to worry about borg shields or remodulation every 10 seconds.

I STILL love to play space, but I'm just disappointed there aren't more options...why a Winter Event, with a ship as the reward and no Winter Space Event?
Some of the long-gone games were terrific and I think the scheduled events were a must.

A Winter space event? What does winter look like in space? Any event in space just would not do justice to either summer or winter.
Besides, aren't there enough events in space? Just look at some of the recent content: Mirror Universe Invasion and "Smash the elachi" (the actual name doesn't pop up atm)

You can do foundry missions some are fun and if you do officer reports you get extra dil.
