All I can advise you to do is to stop playing STO if that's the case. Find something that you do find fun and enjoy.
Ignore the progression, it's boring. Just do whatever you happen to feel like doing in the game. If that's doffing, Crafting, RPing, chatting with your Friends/Fleet, or just running a queue and logging out... so be it. If it's PvP, look up the VPvP crowd... that's probably the only way you'll get a decent match if you haven't been slogging out those Specializations and buying up T6 ships/Starship Traits. You might even join us in making memes to keep yourself occupied and to blow off steam, though the thread is intended for pointed humor... so try to avoid anything that actually discusses Delta Rising directly. :P
Overall... opt out of the TRIBBLE that makes Delta Rising miserable and the game itself becomes less so.
With each passing day I wonder if I stepped into an alternate reality. The Cubs win the world series. Donald Trump is President. Britain leaves the EU. STO gets a dedicated PvP season. Engineers are "out of control" in STO.
Then I recommend you find a game less misery causing. Or a book to read. Or movies and showd to watch. Failing that, I hear real life can be nice. After that...yeah got nothing.
I tried "real life"... it's almost as much of a grind as Delta Rising while my stats and run speed are way lower than most other games. The cost of modifying your avatar is ridiculous and costume unlocks have a durability system. Injuries can be persistent, and it even has permadeath. Seriously, "real life" sucks... I only play because it has such good immersion and it lets me use its currency in other games...

Between people like you and the sad sacks who want snowballs nerfed - SNOWBALLS - I'd say there is a lot of misery in the game.
Cheer yourself up by going to the Winter Wonderland, getting 1000 snowballs and then running riot in a social zone of your choice.
Do the game and yourself a huge favour and completely ignore leveling and crafting-upgrading.
If you do not, that - and worse, will be the type of content you will be getting from here on out.
By all means, if people want every story episode be locked behind 80 patrols send them more money.
At the same time you should still log in and support the stuff that actually makes sense like the winter event ships and so on.
Like it has been said elsewhere ideally the metrics should read that players log in, they do still want to play, but they ignore Dil Vaporizing...
I do know we got a ton of whales throwing dil at upgrading but then so the dream is they won't be able to deny it all if's there in black and white in their metrics
I tried "real life"... it's almost as much of a grind as Delta Rising, the "female" toons still aren't always run by actual females, and my stats and run speed are way lower than most other games. The cost of modifying your avatar is ridiculous, though changing gender is at least covered by insurance... not that I actually want to go that far, thanks. Injuries can be persistent, and it even has permadeath. Seriously, "real life" sucks... I only play because it has such good immersion and it lets me use its currency in other games...
:P
I heard that Real Life has amazing graphics and complexity that can't be found in other games, but it has the worst grind in any game unless you P2W.
I've basically switched to "maintenance mode".
Which means, i log in once a day, do some doffing for Dil and XP on alts, the Ice Race and the occassional Queue when I'm short on marks for rep.

Same here. STO is in a holding pattern with me at the moment. I pushed a third toon to 60 the other night but I have no desire to do any more at the moment. I am now SOOOO sick of Argala.
Time to venture into other games and hope that things improve at some point.

It does have that sort of melodramatic paranoia thing going for it, eh? Compared to somebody just saying, "I am not having fun in STO anymore, I feel the development team has lost touch with what is fun, and I have little hope that I will experience fun in this game if they continue the way they are." Sure, that's a little boring...but it's also a little sane by comparison, right?

The graphics are pretty good, and the physics engine is outstanding - but it's hard to find questgivers, and it seems like all the NPCs ever drop is meat.
if this means what I think it means i would personaly like to punch you in the face.
If you think it means what I meant to be taken with a sense of humor, I apologize. I have no problem with your gender identity, or that of others, and will remove that portion of my post. How you choose to live your life is your choice.

I think you clearly haven't left the starting area. There are mobs that drop considerably more but they do have elite guards.
Granted, 40% of the loot is dropped by the top 1% of mobs.

when you have been married as long as i have the only thing you can do is find humer in gender.
thats why 99% of the funniest jokes are gender related.
When I think about everything we've been through together,
maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,
and if that journey takes a little longer,
so we can do something we all believe in,
I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

Given how hard it is to level is it suprising he's still in the starter zone? I think lvl 18 is when you can leave that zone.
You can get some decent loot from mid level mobs no need to go for the ones with elite guards, it's moree efficient even though it takes more mobs to get the same amount.
One advantage in RLMMORPG is that you can't be conned by people pretending to be the opposite gender as easilly as you can in others. It is still possible but the chance is a lot lower.
The biggest down side is that the RMT part of the game it is sjust sooo expensive and can use all the money you get in a week up leaving nothing for the upgrades.

i'm a male and i have 8 toons: 4 females and 4 males. it's more interesting to play with a female toon, they are more badass
