How long till signature nerf?

Let's play a game:

How long will it take cryptic/pwe to disable or delete the signature graphics (Delta rising is the best expansion ever and players love it)?

My bet is on "immediately after maintenance/patch".

    I can't see why they would.... unless they institute a "pay for your signature" money making scheme.

    they also did the posting limit and closed several of the negative response threads, deleted some postings.

    But you are right, 100dil per posting with signature and 500dil setup fee for the sig may be ordered by PWE. :D

    consider it as free for use, just copy it if you like it - no grinding or dil required. :D

    I don't think they'll nerf the signature. It's just fun, and most of them are not anywhere close to be insulting.

    They didn't make a fuss for the "Shaka when the wall fell" a long time ago, they even made an ingame medal for it.

    Anyway, we'll see if they kept their sense of humor.

    I'm not expecting a signature nerf. I do see them merging all threads together though.

    One thread on the subject is fun, this is the third one I see already. One thread will be allowed, like the doom thread. More? Well..... I'm in b4 the lock.

    Although, it has to be said - unless I missed something - the 'best ever' thing is a reference to ONE comment, made by Taco, the day after the expansion launched. I wouldn't necessarily blame them for thinking that this one, basically throwaway, comment has been blow a little out of proportion.

    It was a throwaway comment which Taco later completely distanced himself from... until Geko said it again, phrasing it in various ways, about 10 times in a recent podcast.

    Well they didn't delete any of the crash sigs, that were made and used. I think I did 10 of those, and none of the delta sigs cross any line.

    The only thing I can think of that happened, the last time a dev said one thing and it blew up to this level. Was the Devs stopped using the forums to communicate for a long time. They stuck to Twitter and facebook.

    Why would they nerf sigs? EVeryone knows noone from Cryptic pays any attention to the forums anyway, so they probably don't know they're getting lampooned in sigs.

    Why would they nerf signatures for expressing how Delta Rising is the best expansion ever and how much the players love it?

    Now, if the signatures implied that Oceania hadn't always been at war with Eastasia, then they might have to correct them.

    Smirk did say a forum revamp is coming. I'm guessing the "Allow User Signatures" checkbox is gonna get unchecked when that happens. You know, to shorten the threads and make them easier to read.

    It depends really. The graphic design is fantastic. The level design, for example the Kobali ground zone, is amazing and you can see that a lot of effort went into it. If I was responsible for those parts of the game they'd be in my portfolio for all to see.

    Now, if I was the person responsible for the terrible decisions surrounding XP and player leveling... well I don't think that would be on my CV anywhere. I'd probably just say I was in prison for the last few months instead.

    Seems very large and should be more like a smaller banner. 300 x 64 instead looks like 300 x 300. I am not really into banners though. Takes a lot of loading time on slower PCs. Most forums including what I run it's not enabled for any member, unless admin or super mod.

    Max size is 500 x 150.

    My thoughts as well, as I have publicly praised their efforts in the graphics dept a number of times. Unfortunately, you can only go so far as appreciating the graphic assets in a game with serious issues in their core systems.

    Prolly when they update the forum software. Till then I'm thinking forum rule change followed by vacations for those still sporting 'flaming sigs'.
