I personally see it as being silly and they should look like animals, not a human with hair slapped onto them and pointy ears.

I feel that what the OP was trying to say has been very misunderstood here. I'm pretty sure he was referring to adding more variations of feline facial features/expressions, hairstyles and digigrade legs for the Caitians and Ferasans in STO.
Furthermore, I have to agree with darthmeow that the pics of Caitians in the OP are not anime, they're basically the Caitians we already have in game with a plethora of new distinctve features that he wants to see implemented in-game. And ofcourse they're cartoon-ish, that's the style the artist that created them made them be - doesn't mean that the OP wants cartoon-ish characters brought in-game, he's just giving examples of features.
Now, I've said this many times before - I consider the Caitian/Ferasan heads in STO by far the best looking feline species' heads/faces in any game I've played that had feline species. Cryptic did a good job on them, especially on the Caitian males. That said, I wouldn't mind implementing different facial features and expressions such as the ones posted in the OP which are more akin to domestic cats. More variety can't hurt.
And as far as hairstyles go - it's pretty clear by now that there is a resounding opinion amongst the players that play Caitian and Ferasan species that more variety is really necessary. Why must Caitian Females only have pony-tails for ex.?
Digigrade legs would be a nice adition to make things more realistic, as seen in TAS, however I'd personally make this one optional so the people who don't like their Caitians/Ferasans to have digigrade legs would get to keep their characters as they are. I know I'd want this on some of my chars, but then again on some I have the feeling it might look weird for some reason. *shrugs* I don't see the issues with the footwear on the pics, we know from TAS that Caitians are known to prefer to walk bare-footed, so these could be viewed as fashion items first and foremost and to have something different to compensate not being able to wear the current footwear on digigrade legs.
