    A fifth off the price on everything in the store, including new ships, is a pretty big deal. New ships normally are not discounted so soon after release. Perhaps I will be getting a Guardian sooner than I thought...

    Hope you didn't have to walk away from the feasting to post Trendy.

    20% on a new ship package? Now that's very unusual. Cryptic doesn't discount new ships or sets this early into their release. Until now.

    I'd say thankyou, if I were buying ;) Waiting on the new [redacted] due to arrive on [redacted].

    This sale would mean something to me if I knew about it before I bought the Pathfinder when it came out. I guess select folks were given word about this ship being a part of a Black Friday sale since no new ship has ever been made part of a discount right after being released.... :rolleyes:

    black friday? as i recall there is like 2 dozen times where the name "black friday" has been used over the years and im aware there is an american tradition about the start of the shopping season. amazon and asda are trying it out in the uk, jury is still out if it works. usually our shopping season is a lot smaller time frame, usually around mid point of december before everyone stocks up, but it depends on weather conditions more then when is needed just for the hell of it otherwise. if it were snowing in the uk in december, heavily, then the silly shopping season gets underway for the purpose of stocking up if the weather gets bad enough. some areas of the uk tend to get hit with snow hard, some areas reaching maybe as high as shoulders on a human.

    guess thats our black friday if this is what it represents and not the other 2 dozen "black friday" events on record.

    point of interest in the uk, as soon as snow touches down in the uk the whole country is in chaos, we dont have snow tires and chains like germany does and a few years ago there was the curious case of not having enough salt grit for the roads over a period of time. all because the country receives little in the way of snow when it should, americans steal all that snow meant to be dumped on the uk and dance in holiday spirit :P.

    anyway just of point of interest.

    Man first thing I though was that the blasted banking system had collapsed again..!

    we had a black Monday and Wednesday both about banks.

    why only 1 day as its cyber Monday coming? world of tanks has theirs all weekend, and I just bought Total War 2 Emperor Edition for £7:49.

    my EMPIRE begins!!

    and I just got a tax rebate but I already bought the DR pack, my timing sucks.

    Nice one Trendy for putting the Ferengi theming on things. Just keeps it all within the Trek flavour...!

    This discount will probably tempt me to finally splurge for the Eclipse and Intel outfit.

    Well, if there ever was a time to buy a normally overpriced starship trait, it is now.

    Guess I'll be getting that Mat'Ha a lot sooner than expected.

    A sale is never unwelcome, but PWs timing (or more likely mine) is horrendous!

    Last time I bought a new ship in the C-store, there's a ship sale the week after.

    This time I just bought a pack of upgrades yesterday, and there a sale now.

    I guess my leson is to never, ever buy anything when I need it - but always wait >_<

    It is because today is the day after a national holiday in the US, a national holiday that most of the country's (traditional) workers get a 4 day weekend for. Of course, the poor souls that work retail and service mostly didn't even get yesterday off but a LOT of money will be spent today in the US. They won't be out stocking up for the snow flying either because that would make sense. Instead, they will be out after game consoles, TVs, stuff for gifts more or less.
    Wow. There is a new KDF Science ship. I'll be!

    Until you guys fix the heavy skill point nerf. I wouldn't buy a damn thing from you even if it were 95 percent off. I encourage all you guys to keep your wallets closed in protest.

    I would really appreciate this.
    Theres a few things i'd like to buy in there, but some of the prices are a little prohibitive, like the Talaxian Boff for example. 300 Lobi is a bit too rich for my blood, but if there was a discount of some kind...I'd probably grab a couple.
    And a ship for sure.

    Due all the changes done with and after DR, especially the new leveling, I don't feel like spending anything. Heck, it's not even just me not wanting to spend anything - with most of my chars, including fed sci, on hiatus, there is simply no reason left for me to e.g. get the new pathfinder.

    If I buy 1 of the intel ships am I locked out of later buying the whole pack?

    Based on previous years' sales, I was expecting a ship sale. We got a services sale, which is exactly what I needed.

    This "Black Friday" sale, on everything including the newest ships (which historically have never been on sale), was most unexpected. It is, however, much appreciated!

    It was not my wallet. I used a zen supply I had been saving up from dilithium stockpiles.

    20% off is a Good deal in my view, I just wish there was a decent Fed Tac T6 Ship to buy but months into DR and we are still stuck with the flying Metal dinner plate as the Only choice for Fed Tac Officers :(

    Took advantage of some Services buys though so that saved me a bit Thanks for that atleast Cryptic!

    Well this sale is nice, albeit very short.


    However I fear I got all I need already and given recent changes/rebalances/nerfs I'm certainly not in a mood to actually try stuff I don't need (for example: I'm definitely not trusting you devs enough right now to upgrade any more ships).
    TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class.
    Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider.
    Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.

    Don't make ARC mandatory! Keep it optional only!

    Well, I like the sale, but a little earlier warning would have been nice.

    I got some money for my birthday earlier this week, and finally had enough to get the Delta Pack.

    I bought it yesterday at 8:40 PM CDT. The announcement for the sale was at 10 PM CDT. Had I known just a couple of hours beforehand, I would have 2500 more Zen waiting to be utilized because I would have waited until the sale took effect.

    Great idea, not so good on advance warning. Another game I play sent me notice of Black Friday deals 4 days ago. And I bet there is no recourse I can do is there?

    Not warning players of sales beforehand is one of very few actions of Cryptic/PWE that, imo, do not warrant criticism (you'll always get players that bought xyz right before the sale began/was announced).

    The only advice I have here is only buy stuff that's on sale. With exceptions here and there, it's worked quite well for me.
