Why cant we have more than one T6 ship at the same time?

I bought the Romulan Dyson ship and had no problem pulling multiple copies on the same character for various builds.

I ended up buying the Faeht Intel Warbird and have been enjoying it so far but today I decided to try a different build. Went to pull another and it says I can only have one Faeht Intel Warbird?????

Why on earth would they make this change to ships bought from from the Zen store?

This is very discouraging. Part of the whole fun of this game is trying out different builds. Big limitation for the most expensive ship imo. Especially since its no problem for cheaper ships????

Are they trying to force the use of the loadout system? (Prolly not a good idea if true, seeing as it has never worked correctly) and worse now since If I have to find a bank to switch all my stuff around it also means I just went to a ground zone. So each switch will entail yet another redo of all the tray bars.

What's up Cryptic? Why the change? (Very disappointed)

I've never been able to claim more than one copy of a C-Store ship... T6 or not. Try it with a T5 ship, I think you'll notice the same behavior.

You can try out different builds using the Load Out feature. And the slotting of gear from any ship if you are at a zone with banks allows you to pull gear from any ship, inventory or your bank.

You can't have more than one copy of the same ship at any given time. It has been like that since launch.

The Dysons ship bundle contains 3 different ships, hence why you might have been able to claim more than one... It's not truly the same ship.

The reason you could have several dyson ships simultaneously is because they are different ships. There are 4 Versions of the dyson-destroyer: the anniversary/lobi, recon, strategic, surveillance. Those are ships are independent from each other and all have their own console layout and skin. Multiple copies of the same c-store ship were never possible.

I never been able to get more of one of any ship in the 3 years I have been playing with the exception of ships like the dyson that have many different variants and each is treated as basically a different ship.
this is most annoying when you come to upgrade them to T5u as they all need to be upgraded individually.

This was never possible. Long ago I tried it, was before the loadout system was implemented, with the Armitrage. Does not make sense in my opinion. As long as I have ship slots, what do you care which ship goes in it.

You can have a ship and its fleet version though. I have a character with a T'Varo and a fleet T'Varo. When you add the Mirror T'Varo, you can have three T'Varos on one character. I suppose this can be done with any fleet ship.

When a ship is in a package, you can sometimes get the package while you have an active ship. I have a character with a Risan Corvette, but when I did the event I got one in a box, Haven't tried to unpack it though.

I only have one version of the Dyson Ship. I didnt buy the bundle and I can pull multiple copies of the exact same ship. On another character I have multiple copies of a Guramba.

Actually, I think those who are mentioning the 3-pack aspect being why the OP has been able to claim multiple science destroyers, they might be right for the wrong reasons.

I have the Galaxy 3-pack. On one of my alts, I claimed all 3 ships, stripped the consoles, and then dismissed the first two in favor of the X. Later, I decided to reclaim those ships and use them to store extra gear. I actually claimed the 3-pack, which put 3 boxes in my inventory. I've never tried opening that 3rd box with another Gal-X in it, but I do know I can get that close to owning 2 copies of the same ship. Can anyone confirm there is a restriction on opening a box claimed in the method I got mine? I can't get ingame right now. Even if it is tagged to not be openable, perhaps that tag is missing on the OP's DSD boxes? Of course, since then DR has come along and my Gal-X is now T5U, so it might be actually possible to open that extra box...

Edit: Ninja'd by the OP eliminating my theory...

You are right. I just bought a second B'Rel. That is cool. As I remember this wasn't always possible.

I dont know which way the bug runs. I thought pulling multiple copies was normal.

I was in a zone one day and some people were talking in chat about builds and it just came up. I went to the C store and just hit claim on the ship again and bingo. Then tried it on my main with her Guramba and worked just fine.

God I hope this is normal and the T6 is bugged because I think this is a great feature and makes sense given they are paid for ships.

it beats me why you would want multiple copies of the same ship anyway, with ship spaces at a premium and so easy to fill with existing ships im dammed if I would waste a ship slot on a ship I already have even just to try different builds, that's what the loadout system is for, baring that a screenshot of how I have my weapons lay out so I can change them back to how they are if I want to experiment.

Well I am not a fan of the loadout system in general and since it is broken at the moment I am really not a fan. Of course yay or nay on the load out system is a personal choice. I am sure some like it, or just benefit from it because of ship slots. I also don't care about my non top tier ships (as they are now useless). So that frees up a bunch for me if needed.

I havent been playing long so I could see how ship space might be a premium if you have bought a bunch of various ships over time. However, since a respec is something I have to pay for I also don't mix build types (torp/energy weapon/combo of both) on the same character. This limits to some degree the number of various types of ships each character might try. There is also the fact that I don't have a bunch of money or built up dil for Zen to get lots of various ships (at least not yet).

Forgot to mention, I had asked about multiple T6 in zone chat when I discovered the T6 issue. I do not remember their names but one person, like me, could not pull a second copy, but another person said they already had a second copy pulled. However when that person tried to pull a third copy as a test they got the same message as I did about only being able to have one, even though they already had two.

I can only have a single copy of a ship in my ships list, too. I would think that's normal.

In fact I recently had a problem here because I tried to equip a Phantom Escort, but it went to my Overflow Bag (that contained stuff, but I coudn't open it despite clearing my inventory) instead of the available inventory or ship slots. (And I only realized that this has happened that way the next day after a suggestion by customer support to check there).

When I tried to open a reclaimed Phantom Escort Box, I got the misleading message: "You can have only one of this Bridge Officer".
