Gift Card Fiasco

I bought a Perfect World gift card from Walmart and after getting home tried to enter it and received, "Card not found". After reporting the incident PW replied back that the card was not activated.

Just in case I tried 24 hours later and recieved the same response. "Card not found". So returning to Wallmart they showed me that they did activate the card, but were nice enough to deactivate it and give me a new one.

Logging in, I entered the new Number only to get the same replay. "Card not found"

REALLY? Come on Perfect World get your act together.

Sorry to hear about your difficulties, and hope things get cleared up soon.

I just bought one at Wal*Mart and it worked without a hitch, so something is up. Wondering if it's something to do with what you purchased it with (cash, credit or debit)?

Elsewhere on the forums, a few people have mentioned on-line credit card purchases and PWs' new security measures are TRIBBLE them up... could this be related?
    Are we there yet?

I ran into this problem yesterday. I was able to get mine to work by taking the spaces out of the number on the card.

It's on the card like this:
    TRIBBLE TRIBBLE XXXX

and you should put it in like this:
    XXXXXXXXXX

As I seid that's how I got mine to work so I hope this helps you.

    Hi Kittyhawk,
May I ask what contact method you used to get in touch about this card?

    Thanks!

Hope they get it together. People asked me what I wanted for Christmas last year and I didn't really want people to spend much on me and didn't have any ideas... so I suggested $10 PWE cards... I got 11 from all different family members...

This kind of non-sense makes me not want to suggest that this year.

    Hi Phantom,
Have you had any troubles redeeming any of those?

    Hi Phantom,

I did not have any trouble, they were all redeemed last year one right after another in the span of a few minutes. I think I may have caused some confusion with my post and I apologize for that.

The 11 gift cards were received and redeemed for Christmas last year

My post really didn't add anything of value to the thread other than my expression that I really hope this is an isolated issue. I would like to ask for gift cards again this year and see this stuff as pretty scary, but re-assuring since you seem to be on top of it. I hope the OP responds with an outcome.

As a side note, would the recent fraud protections that were in place flag an account for entering 11ish valid codes from cards? My recent paypal purchases all seemed to go through without a hitch sooo one would think I am a trusted customer.

Thanks for replying and sorry for the false alarm. I feel terrible.

Glad to hear you were not having troubles with them.
