With all the current threads relating to lack of communication to the players from the STO Community Team, I can't help but wonder should Branflakes should of ever left.
From the recent threads and posts it's clear my feelings are mutual from other players. We know why Branflakes left STO originally and I respect his reasoning behind that.
Branflakes, if you ever read this thread please please PLEASE see if there is a way you can come back to us. Your Family here needs you too.
He'd come back if he could work remotely. Apparently they wouldn't let him do that so he left. When I see him ingame I'll let him know about this thread, though I already told him we miss him here.
He's better off where he is, in that game Devs and community actually talk to each other, they even hop into the game and make events of playing against the players, it's a completely different atmosphere from here.
If something is not broken, don't fix it, if it is broken, don't leave it broken.
Not only did he, correctly, prioritize his family first, and left the dream job for what was truly important, but he also managed to dodge this whole thing before it happens.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...

Everywhere I look, people are screaming about how bad Cryptic is.
What's my position?
That people should know what they're screaming about!

Have you seen the playerbase here? Can you blame the devs for staying away?
Yes, because playerbase became acid for no reason at all. Game is so well made, bugfree, fun, dynamic and affordable that it's really a fluke of the universe how anybody can complain.
Sarcasm is the lowest form of wit and I am not very witty.

thats like saying a person made some good clothes and then decided to abuse them and and then try to ignore the clothes for no reason. that doesnt make any sense.
the player and the community can only do as much as the design limits on the game and the rules allow.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.

True, players can take their share of the blame, there is no justification for being abusive, it's pointless and contributes nothing constructive. That said, Developers are most certainly not blameless, they have completely disconnected themselves from the community and almost everything they do of late proves how far removed they have become. They make no attempt at a dialogue with the players and hiding in their ivory tower refusing to communicate at all is certainly not going to make the players any happier.
Yes I know, to his credit, we regularly hear from Tacofangs about his efforts. If only other developers would follow his example. If they did, the playerbase would probably have a very different relationship with the Developers, but they do not and this is what we have, so who is really to blame?
In any case we have gone far afield of the topic, simply put, Bran moved so he had to get work where he lived, I wish him the best whatever he does, but to be honest, right now, I wouldn't wish this place on my worst enemy, community managers here have my deepest sympathy, I envy them not.

It's true, Brandon did leave his dream job because he sorely missed his family. While I'm sure he misses the STO community and his place in it, real life truly does take precedence. I met his family and they're truly wonderful people and he has such affection for them. Though it saddened me as well, I really can't blame him for making the choice that he did. We must learn to honor and respect that choice no matter how much we may miss him.
But if PWE does let him work remotely then, WhooHoo!

Sorry, it's a bit of a pet peeve for me.
The state of the game and a certain lizard are.
Exactly, juliet is asking the heavens, why Romeo must be a Montague, sworn family enemies of the Capulets.
Pet peeve of mine as well.
Why where who cares STO needs Bran back regardless
But better question is...where is Captain Kiki?!
I missed those uber cheesy vids with her and Bran
If you want to get absolutely nitpicky, it means "for what reason".
Kiki is still with PWE in Marketing, she was a guest at Branflakes wedding earlier this year and she looked STUNNING

He is the Lead Community Manager at Red 5 Studios Inc. for Firefall

Of course. It's their game. Their responsibility.

This is a comment that seems to be turned around, a lot. Unfortunately it is why a lot of players have left.
