STO is more like real world earn and spend than some people may think. Let's say your real world job is the same as dill working in the mines. Beyond the vet reward refining you can only really earn 8000k per day. Just like in real life you can really earn only so much $$$ a day before you just can't work anymore because your tired. Now unless your really a rich guy in real life it will take you a while to save for that new car. Maybe you don't want that new car. That T5 ship "Ford" you have now works great!! But hey you made a choice by working "McD's working in the mines and saving for that new car. Or! Maybe you got a loan "spend real world money" that in the long run cost you more personally "taking real dollars away from you". Than if you just saved. Now you own that new Ford! "T5u ship" 8 months later and what did those money hungry "for profit company" do?? They made a new ford!! How dare they make a new and improved ford!! This new ford "T6 ship" has a better safety rating "better hull points"! Built in entertainment pkg! "More fun to fly" Even makes less sound on the road! "Cloaking device". Ford! "Cryptic" should give it to me for free!! I invested in the older other model!!! I even bought a bunch of optional equipment with my ford! Made it almost like the new ford! "T5U" So I should get the new ford for free "T6". If not then I'm bailing or I'm raging if you dare put this new ford out.
Look guys there "with my hope that the game last" is going to be T7, T8, and very soon I hope T6 fleet ships. Cryptic was very nice letting you all upgrade to T5U. My business mind I would of made that little bug ship and your other ships obsolete to make more money from you! Hell I would of never gone FTP or I would of charged $$$ for the expansions lol. Before you think I don't have any business skills I do have one of 14 years. It steams me that you all complain about progress!! I want new ranks, new ships!
do you have a point in all that wall of text? i must of missed it somewhere.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
Why does the Eclipse need to look like a small motor-scooter?!
Because First come the ugly ones bought for stats, second come the good looking but not as good stats, Third are bit of both, fourth are best of both.
Then Fleet T6, then T6U and T7, and the whole f**ked up mess begins again.
Ships are not f**king gear, you pick your ship because you like it and damn the f**king stats. If stats are all that matter to you get a f**king Scim, a f**king Romulan Tac Captain, 4 SRO + 1 SI and be done with it.
All this complaining about how the devs released a t6 intrepid class with the Delta sector content...yes it is a marketing ply for fan boys who want to spend cash so they can be janeway in the delta sector. It's to make fast cash up front.
however, the content came out last friday. T6 ships are coming, fricking relax kids, your toys are coming out after the mission content tweaking & final balancing is done.
You miss the point. A ship in space is almost like a character on ground. Make ships upgradable, make new model variants and that way earn your money. Don't force people to get rid of ships they already bought. Let them pay to upgrade those ships.
This add in quarks dodgy relatives as a used ship dealer add in a ferengi mark and currency exchange at the same time, if they want they can use the current upgrade system for gear so you can buy a fixer upper as a project while you play. The more beat up the cheaper the ship in whatever currency but more upgrade points to fix it up ??
More T6s will be coming, but with originals having better loadouts now that Cryptic has CBS' blessing to innovate rather than stagnate with re-releases alone.
That's provided they even bother to go back and release old canon ships; after the burn they got with this T6 Intrepid. At this rate, they'll probably just release one T6 hard-canon ship whenever they go to a sector that would star the ship. Such as Defiant around DS9 or Galaxy/Sov in a TNG-oriented episode chain.
The other issue is why the rush? Intel isn't suitable for all the canon ships, and they did say they will bring out more Specializations in the future to theme more new originals and select existing canon ships to.

Soon all T5 ships will have T6 version. Period.
But the T6 version will be 30 dollars period.
Better stats better everything. Can anyone not see how htis is in real life. Everytime tech comes out a better version comes out as well.
Given that i have driven my eclipse for over a month now, and my oddy is sitting in drydock i will not go back to T5.
But hey, you choose to fly what you want to fly and ***** and moan at it.
Just wish the eclipse had a more oddy look than a vespa look.
