My bad STO Review

stommy1stommy1 Member Posts: 10 Arc User
STO is 99% grinding and only 1% gameplay. if you want to loose your real life and friends and never see the sun again and spend thousands of dollar for TRIBBLE, then go ahead and play sto. the game is full with never fixed bugs, boring cutscenes you cant escape, more boring pvp and pve missions, bad comic-like graphics, every 20 minutes you get a game crash, the network code is very slow and you will get a ton of lag and rubberbanding all the time, the login and loading of the game takes ages the first 5 minutes you cant do anything and i have a fast ssd, huge amount of best fast ram, best 8 core cpu, best dual gpu in crossfire and fast connection so its not the fault of my system, the game clipping is horrible everything is warping around, the episode mission storys make no sense at all, the support doesnt even exist they will rather harras you instead of help you, everywhere they have added timegates i still wonder why they havent added timegates even for the beamout process. the game devs cant even code at all, they are all copy and paste coders cryptic has hired some cheap coders of a third world country and they just c&p code from neverwinter another pwe game. now they have added a new and very, very, very expensive crafting system and it takes you almost 7 years to reach the endlevel in crafting and if you want to speed up crafting to reach level 20 asap you would need to buy enough dilithium for 8500 dollars!!!, but you cant craft gear with the mods you want, instead its more like a lottery crafting with random mods, its useless in this stadium. so forget it, you cant equip your toons with your own crafted gear. after that they have added a new very, very, very expensive upgrade system, this is the most expensive and overpriced system i have ever seen or heard of. you can easily burn 300 dollars away just to upgrade one shipgear loadout(6-8 weapons, 1 deflector, 1 engine, 1 shield, 1 warpcore) and it takes ages to go through all the little upgrade steps(for 1 shield i have needed over an hour to upgrade) and you have to click like a trillion times and you need tons over tons of upgrade commodities(you cant even get more some of the needed commodities anywhere in the game, they are very, very, very rare and therefore very, very, very expensive). the upgrade system is the total scam. and again this new upgrade system doesnt give you the needed mods you want, its again another lottery-like upgrade system. just to have 8 identical beams with the same mods you would need atleast 8 beams x 8 different mods - 8 = 56 trys with the upgrade system, just to get 8 identical beams with the same identical mods like crtdx4 LOL!!! and this whole process will cost you hundreds of dollars in real life money. now imagine you have to upgrade the warpcore, engine, deflector, shield of your ship and now even imagine you have 50 ships all with different gear. this will cost you thousands of dollar just to upgrade all your old stuff that you have already aquired and paid with real money. they let you pay again and again and again your stuff that you have already bought. sto is not worth the insane high costs, its maybe worth 10 bucks per month at all. you could fill a 1tb drive full with games for the money sto wants from you. i had a little trick i have used to avoid the insane high costs in form of real money. i had in the end 27 chars and 20 alts all level 50 that i have used to farm ec, dilithium, commodities, contraband, doffs and i was a heavy multibox user. because of this little trick i could aquire everything in the game, i had everything and all ships you could get. this means i have started sometimes up to 10 game clients and i was logged in with 10 different accounts at once. i did cycle though all 47 chars to get all the doffjobs done on all of my chars. i mainly used the refugee, prisoner, officer doff exchange assignments to get more very rare and rare doffs and sell them on the exchange. all i did was switch between the game windows and do doff assignments for doffs, contraband and commodities or i did path to 2409 or did mine dilithium with my 47 chars or did the cristalline entity event and idled with 10 chars at the startpoint lol. sometimes i have played more than 18 hours per weekend day! i made trillions of ec and millions of dilithium(trade 5 contraband for 2000 dil ore every 4 hours with my 20 alts chars plus 1 main char). i did not pay a dime for the new greed rising extension, i have farmed over 2,5 million dilithium and traded it for zen and bought the dr pack ingame for 12,5k zen. i was very dissapointed by the delta rising pack, the new t6 ship are ugly beyond imagination, the stats of the ships are horrible, everything is broken in delta rising nothing works. i couldnt even login more due to crashes and server timeout and game freezes every few minutes. sto has no beta testers, we the endgame customers are the alpha and beta testers. i said to myself enough is enough, TRIBBLE that. i have deinstalled sto. i will never again play a mmo or sto. i bought now TRIBBLE with premium and all unlocks. now i play maybe every 2 or 3 days TRIBBLE for 2 or 3 hours per day. i only play TRIBBLE if i really have the time and nothing else to do. i have also no monthly followup costs like in sto. i bought TRIBBLE once and have never again to pay anything and TRIBBLE is now 99% gameplay and fun and only 1% grinding and for the first time in 3 years i have seen a real working game support, thanks for that. now after my horrible sto experience my whole life has changed to a very good life, i have now more sleep, more energy, more money, more time, more friends, more sun, more of everything, im so glad i stopped playing sto.

    1. Paragraphs are your friend. No one is going to read that massive word wall.

    2. There are plenty of bad reviews already, no one cares.

    3. The thread will probably just get deleted anyway.

I didn't read a word of it, no one will. Hope you enjoy the next game you play.

    Have a nice day.

Considering you are telling not to come back, would you mind reinstalling it just one more time to give some items you have acquired over the course of your gameplay in STO to a person that would still play this game? Someone like me perhaps?

You should have made it green... Then I would have assumed it was matrix code.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

    dude

You are obviously going through something,

I only read the first several words, it was enough to know what you are going through encompasses experiences people have with _all_ mmo games and some regular games as well.

I have two bits of advice to you,

    (1) never ever EVER play computer games again. Something in your background, genetics, personality, or whatever may lead you to play them .... "too much". I could say obsessively or additively (EDIT: addictively) or a bunch of other loaded words, but who knows right? so, "too much".

    (2) vest (invest) yourself in the external world. and if your world isn't good I suggest you go out and find a new world. work for it, spend time on it, new school, new plan, new friends, etc. Get a new plan and take it for a spin. And if it sucks, do one of two things. (A) slog through it until it doesn't suck or (B) change what you are doing.

    good luck man

EDIT: not saying you are wrong about your review

Here, I summarized the wall of text:

Hi, my computer is a 386 and I use a modem with AOL to get on that internet thingy. Your game stinks and is laggy and as you can see its not my super duper gaming PC that is the problem. Also, you have to work to earn the stuff you want, its horrible. Bunch of borderline offensive ranting about programmers. Bunch of whining about using real money to reduce the grind because it costs. Bunch of crying about nonexistent issues like server problems. The end.

I was amazed that there were attempts at punctuation given the complete lack of capitals at the start of what was presumably a new sentence.

At the same time I suspect that if the OP knew about capitals THE ENTIRE POST WOULD HAVE BEEN LIKE THIS.

After taking a moment for my eye to recover I'd suggest that the OP gives up on sto and pays a bit more attention in english classes. Maybe they could even go back to primary school to learn the basics. Any teacher accepting that wall of text as being ok should be out of a job pretty quick.

On the bright side at least they didn't try and use text speak for the entire thing!
