I agree, the ship has no business being that difficult. I have no desire to get this frustrated doing something I do for fun. I struggle enough at work, dont need it at home too. Back down the difficulty a bit. Im not saying make it a pushover but it sure has no business being ridiculous.
didnt go near the tau patrols. since heiwe ruins or whatever its called gets me rom marks more easily, and i have plenty of doffs for exp.
my latest gimmick boat into dr is a CSV risian liner, which is parsing dr missions at a meagre 3.8 to 4.3 k dps because im being silly.
its not a matter of skill, its simple maths.
if a fleet starlooser is putting out 3k dps, assuming non a2b, and someone else goes in with an FAC doing 9k dps, more with a2b, who is going to have an easier time burning mobs hp away
your elitist redherring doesnt change that.
spend 200k creds for the mirror assault cruiser, get the 3rd tac slot, keep the looks.
what you have hit, is a straight played dps wall. the npc's are rocking out panzer 8's and you are still bringing a 6 pounder gun to the playground.
the enemy armour and hp antiquate your current platform through sheer weight of maths.
We'll guess what, I ran a FAC with phaser build using Mk XII tac consoles. I also had a singularity launcher with me. I was using FAW,DER,EPW and APO, I was running weps on full power 125/125 and still had problems with the bulwark. All that equipment was fleet elite, and somehow that bulwark managed to absorb it, per shield face I tested it, on normal each one took me about 10mins to take down so that disproves that theory
I had serious problems with this as well. Flying a T5U fleet escort, with all MK XI purple or higher gear, omega equipment sets, some mk XII fleet gear. I played on elite level like I do everything else. Spent an hour at a time over several days trying to get it. I'd get him down to about 25% no problem, then he'd hit me once, my shields would drop and I'd blow up. Come back and he's at 100%. I tried upgrading some of my consoles and weapons even further. I tried changing around some traits. Nothin'. Couldn't do it. I like that the DR content has been substantially more challenging than other stuff, but this was a bit much. I finally dropped down to advanced and still couldn't do it. Finally dropped to normal just to get it done with.
Came on here hoping to find that there was something that I was not doing right tactically, and maybe there was, but it doesn't sound like anybodys found it, from reading these posts.
I have gotten the ship down to 26% (just got it too 19% for two seconds) and then it shot up too 23% and after four seconds it got to 25%. (all real times used)
And after I came back from death it was at 100%, this ship is a bug!
I was able to do this OK on Normal. I died once (because Miracle Worker didn't fire when I clicked the clicky. Grrr.) and when I came back it was still badly injured and I was able to finish it off. I'm not sure what makes it return to 100% health when you die, but I didn't trigger it.

Time. You'll see this in Borg Red Alerts. If someone is shooting at a Borg group solo and gets creamed a short time later they'll reset to full health. Borg do this spinny animation when they reset, not sure about Voth.
As for the length of the Timer, I'd guess it's the same as the player Red Alert timer. Anything that makes a player stay in Red Alert, such as lingering damage states, will probably have the same affect on enemies.
You are comically out of line. On Elite difficulty (I don't play less), with all fully upgraded equipment loaded into what you call failboats and gimmicks, ANY cruiser should be able to do at least ~18k dps, more if you work another damage angle from another class into the mix, and yet more if you are a Tac. This is endgame average. Yet, you actually quasi-bragged about a pathetic 4.3k dps in a Risian Cruiser, one of the better sci-cruisers in the game that can easily do 4X that with avg equipment? And then you try to derail the thread into an e-**** measurement competition, and put down others when your grand entry looks like the positive end of a battery? And you call your analysis "simple maths"?! LOL!
Jebus tapdancing Cripes. No matter what any casual player does, on Elite (and probably all the way down to Normal), the Holo Bulwark is absurdly tough, and melts just about everything. Extremely hard? Absolutely. But have hard video games bosses become passe? Not for me. Diversify your tactics and be clever. There is no other answer. Keeping your distance from the overcharged grav wells helps.
I found I was having a glitch I had to fix. It was causing issues with STO for a bit including animations not running properly and the bulwark health not dropping. I was able to beat it after I fixed the issue, although I certainly died a few times. Its extremely tough, I wish I had a ship like it!
I went into this mission with my Prometheus T5U-F with the MK12 (purple) gear (and some new gear from DR); the Vaddy part was hard only because the Turei fell apart and I had to fight on my own, but the Bulwark was one heck of a pain. I knew it would be a challenge since I never had an easy time with Bulwarks except when able to use Priates, Holoships, or tac ships to bolster damage. I did not have the Pirates available and went in with what I had and it cost me a quick shield loss and heavy hull damage. I was dealing damage but taking a lot more (even when the Bulwark was done to 5%). The overpowered offense and defense of Bulwarks is something to be learned and something to be careful with when even dealing with one if your build is not a strong DPS (the only way to deal with Bulwarks).
I tore through that Holo-Wark in about ten seconds on my escort, 20 secs on my t5 avenger and 1 min on my part-Gen Sci magic ship. If you're failing then you're the one with the problem, not the mission.
I have a word for you, well two actually.
You have about as much couth as the other idiot that keeps posting and he knows who he is.
This particular Voth IS more difficult from other Voth NPCs. Period.
A DEV could come in here and explain the "MATH" of why but just play the damn mission, then
be honest about the outcome. Not to come barging in this thread claiming you took him out with one hand, sipping cognac with the other hand while playing a game of chess with Samuel Sevian....and winning that match too.
This feels weird, normally I'm there agreeing 100% and having the same troubles as people concerning DR difficulty. This one time however, it was a breeze. Popped photonic fleet, snared it with a grav well, then tore through its port-side shields with tachyon beam and subsystem targeting; the poor thing never stood a chance even on advanced. Which is really weird because in the same mission the Vadwaar took so long to kill that I felt like I needed a shave afterward, and even the Kazon put up more of a fight, the friggin' KAZON. Maybe this one ship was in some way designed so that science ships are its Achilles' heel, that would certainly match with the whole "spam as many Boff abilities as you can" requirement.
Is the Delta Quadrant just some strange bizarro world the devs have created where every aspect of the gaming experience is reversed? Were they secretly replaced by duplicates from this world prior to DR's launch? Because that would explain a few things.

BS.
