First off Congrats on the achievement it is always nice to see players do more.
That being said this does show the issue with STO if I was to try and compare it to another MMO that I play I would consider the STF's as a group instance as apposed to a "raid" environment. The difficulty is on par and in both games you had people that would DPS and folks that couldnt but the point is to truly work as a team
One of biggest difference is AI you don't always know what the enemies are going to do in the other game or which ones they are, in STO you always know what enemies you are going to face and what abilities they use
An example would be in the infected space old infected space (sorry haven't played new so don't know if they changed it) you knew you warp in they there are 2 spheres and cube every time. what if they changed it so it was random what spawned one time would be the normal then next time would be 2 cubes and a sphere or probe.
The thing about dps is that in stfs it is quite alot based on your team strength. Say for instance i am usually a 15k dps player in the old ise elite. This is usually with a good team. If i was in a medium to poor dps team my dps suffers somewhat. Factors include powers like apb between the team, damage resistant weapons the team uses, the other large factor i believe is time to complete as well.
So take dps readings with a pinch of salt. Sometimes its nice to see in a parser once in awhile but it means nothing really if you pug alot between good and poor dpsers and the time of the stf till complete etc. Only if you say have a stable finishing time, stable enemies that follows a set pattern, have the same strong dps team you always play with then they can be a bit more meaningful but generally. Unless your mad about dps and have similar minded friends then dont worry what your dps is. Long as you get the job done in a reasonable time is all i reckon ppl should be thinking about.

The thing is, most things ARE inline with game mechanics. the problem is that players don't understand the mechanics in question and under perform.
as for Aux2Bat. it's already dead. it doesn't need a nerf because it is useless now. well... if you are fed with access to a Phantom that is.
The point is most players don't care about the mechanics, nor want to play the exact same build as every else just because the dps crowd says so, and because only a couple of cookie cutter builds will get you the notice of those who consider themselves elite.
Most players just want to play STO the way they want to, with builds they personally find enjoyable, but because the mechanics are so fubared if they want to break that 5 to 10k glass ceiling they have to use certain ships and certain powers and certain weapon types.
But Cryptic is balancing around those cookie cutter builds and ships instead of fixing the underlying issues, thus causing a bigger and bigger gap between those who want to use certain ships and powers and weapon types that are under performers because it's fun, andnthose who want to use the same level of ships and powers and energy types that are dps performers because they find dps min/maxing fun
This is off course a team result. Take 3 well equiped High DPS ships (the shorter the run, the higher the effect of the stacking). Take 2 beta spamming recluses, that buff end protect the High DPS ships at the right moment. So repair hull after Go Down fighting is triggered of the DPSer. Make sure you get GDF from the first cube and stack APO APA BFAW TAC FLEET etc. Have others to save TAC fleet after first TAC FLEET is ended. Use good keybinds or macro's. And fly the right path. Etc and do runs untill succesfull. And Every one can reach these kind of results 60K-100K after some time practising.
High DPS ships (like scimi) solo can sustain about 40K-50K average in long ISA runs. (So without good team support)
So the real challenge is getting 4 ambitious people together for multiple runs willing to assist you during your run as explained. And are patient enough because getting a good GDF means you probably die many times, and have to rerun it.
Please understand an individual cannot reach these kind of results, you need the team to support you proper.

I don't see any of the other guys who were really good. Popping all fast without knowing what they do half of the time. And running pure Feedback builds waiting for peeps who shoot at you isn't pvp. :P
But who cares now. It's about pve here - but youre Statement simply was too funny.

Ok i find this funny mighty scimitar do 100k damage to OP debuffed targets with negative defences ok so what are they braging about? show me actually challanging STF like onslaught borg stf on elite lets see if u get tractored all the time and how much dps they got but never mind that i too did glass cannon ship phantom escort with all the best universal damage up consoles and guess what? i to did some spike dps damage over 5 to 6 seconds i was hitting from normal beams crits from 88k to 92k! in faw mode in elite argela patrol but i was not alone target of mine was fully debuffed by sci ship i to debuffed with vurnability and tac beta and fire on my mark in top of that intel fleet buff and in that short moment the enemy carrier ship just melted but my team mates also scored some heavy hits.
Imo this all stacking debufs are just wrong too many players depends on someone debuffing waiting till some kind sci do the dirty job for them.
This is just art for an art like in league of legends rammus moving over half map in like 2 seconds with other players buffs.
Im playing in fleet galX dread and i cant score that high dps however i do this stf in 4 minutes with pug group in advanced so its not thaaad bad compered to 4 scims...
I love how they decide to nerf carrier pets, but continue to do nothing about Beam Fire at Will, which is THE cheesiest ability in any game that I've ever played. You either park or orbit and hit everything around you really really hard...no, that's not broken at all.
Congrats to Ryan for that awesome display of DPS. PWE should honestly take a good look at it and start nerfing Scimitars, Aux2Bat, and anything else that allows a players damage to be so insanely out of line with the game mechanics.

The DPS league people are in the most part pure PvE heroes. Throw them into PvP land and they explode in seconds.
Between them and the devs refusing to code smarter AI instead of damage sponges they completely ruined the queues. They should scale back advanced further back so the queues can get some life back in them. They can leave Elite for the 1% up in the 50K+ DPS channels so they can feel some sense of accomplishment at killing dumb AI NPCs.

That aside I am quite sure we would be decent if we would play real pvp with our knowledge of mechanics, we simply dont do it, because its unrewarding, and even more unbalanced than pve.
We would also welcome smarter Ais and the need of higher level tactics. We wouldnt have any problem to adapt to them, unfortunately (from you) said 99% of players wouldnt be able to complete such challenges.
Though we were hated once for roflstomping queues were even premades waited for us. Until that also got boring. But better than making a vaper or a fbp-build, which should be 99% of builds avaiable for pvp now.

I can see where you are coming from, but your logic is flawed: If you yourself debuff the enemy (especially alone like usually done in pugs) you also increase your dmg, and thats with your own set of skills. By your logic that would be fake damage, which isnt true as it 1. comes from you and 2. the enemy dies faster, so it is real damage. Sure, you get more with a teameffort, but in the end and comes down to the player how far he can go.
And not to burst your bubble, but reaching 40-50k in pugs is quite easy in such a build with a skilled pilot. And in pugs you usually dont have debuffers or healers. The biggest part of the playerbase doesnt even know what dmgresistence is. That you are only able to double this in a team (5 player effort) is quite disappointing, isnt it?

You are confusing cause and effect. The scimitars are an effect, or rather, a symptom, not the cause of it.
