The beam up button is missing (normally in the lower right corner), and the beam up button next to the minimap never worked.

Romulan character - I'm told that the button is missing since I never completed the Federation Tutorial, and as a Romulan, I can't start it. Many people are stuck here.

I think this is in desperate need of a HOTFIX!

Same thing happened with my Rommie today. Until it's fixed, here's how I got out of there: Go to the episodes tab and hail your contact for any episode mission, then transwarp to that location. Costs some EC, but sure worth it. :)

The current workaround for this is to accept a mission from the Mission Journal ('J' by default) and use the Transwarp function from your Mission Tracker to get you out of the zone.

Tip: The closer the mission is to ESD, the cheaper the Transwarp will be.

A real fix for this should be in an upcoming build.

A great fix would be to not force Romulans to have to go to their allies for Academy stuff anymore. It would kind of be like they are their own faction almost ;)

Yup, stuck in the same boat here. All my Rommies like Starfleet Academy well enough, but they wouldn't mind leaving, eventually.

Visiting ESD is a pain, transwarp to mission, then transwarp back to Earth. Oh well, at least the bug is known to the Devs.

    Edit:

Geez, 5 minute lockout between posts? Seriously?

I can check out any time I like, but I can never leave.

+1 for Romulan Academy (or adding academy events/contacts/missions to the flotilla if there's no time for a new map).
(+1 for New Romulus lore mission giver)
(+1 for New Romulus security DOFF contact)
    (+1 for race-specific Romulan recruitment contacts/space missions)
(+1 for full Romulan faction & factionless PvP)
    Don't phaze me, bro!

Though I'm not holding my breath for the last point.

Yeah, I'm having this issue too. I don't have any other mission available so I can't use transwarp, even!

The mission I'm currently on is "Welcome to Earth Spacedock", and the missions before that don't seem to be repeatable.

You can also use Fleet Map invites to get out, too; the Spire or Embassy will let you leave the holding directly.

Way to impress the new players. Beam up button has apparently been missing for days, no ETA on fix and best guess of players stuck at academy with me was thursday.

No thanks, a game this broken isn't worth the time and certainly not worth paying anything to buy zen.

    Very disappointed.

My federation character is currently still stuck at the academy. You're right, this game is pretty broken. Two of my other characters right now are stuck, klingon and romulan.

those who just started are stuck. I spent half an hour trying to help someone before giving up and recommending she make a new toon.

    She wasn't impressed.

I'm having the same issues as everyone else, on my second mission 'Welcome to Spacedock' and I am still stuck at starfleet academy with no way to beam out or do anything else!

It's nearly been 24hours since I submitted my help ticket to a GM but still not reply... And this is my first impression of this game :/

Bad phrasing on my part. I meant to refer to the "Path to 2409" lore missions found at the FED and KDF academies.

It occurs to me that a good temporary fix for FED Romulans is to reopen the "Q's Party" portal to the New Romulus Command Center.

Won't do a thing for the Welcome to Spacedock trap, of course, but it's a start.

    Hello!

I'm another new player (Federation) who is stuck at the academy on the 'Welcome to Earth Spacedock' mission. I accidentally warped down to the academy instead of speaking to the admiral (as the warp to academy box popped up, I thought it was telling me I needed to go there).

I submitted a ticket and my reply basically said 'since your character is so new, you will probably just have to make a new one, please do not beam down to the academy before visiting the admiral' - helpful! Not a great first impression of the game. I was hoping for either 'A GM will beam you back' or 'we are in the process of fixing this/adding a warp out button, please wait'.

I would suggest in the meantime, if there is some issue with providing a warp out button, perhaps make it impossible (by greying out the option) for new players to actually warp down to the academy before they have visited the admiral, since this is such a game breaking bug? I really don't fancy another few hours creating a new character and repeating exactly the same missions/cinematics, but I guess I don't really have a choice!

You haven't been reading the threads about this, have you?

People are stuck at SFA with no option to transwarp, either.

No beam outs, no map invites (including bridge visits), no trip to the tailor, no option to transwarp to a mission - nothing.

    They are trapped at SFA.

A real fix should be their first priority. Despite your days on the STOked pro-Cryptic propaganda podcast, even you must realize that this is a very serious problem - especially when people who have never played the game before are being hit with it.

Aye it is still occuring I tried to help a player on monday

and there are at least two on local chat in my instance on
SFA stuck at the end of the tutorial.

    Right now.

    Quick fix is advised.

Remove the beam down to starfleet academy tag when new toons doing the tutorial missions first beam to ESD thats where it all goes wrong.

It provides an almost overwhelming urge to click it.

And they become stuck in SFA as the only way out for a new characters from SFA is if they have skipped the tutorial missions which at the end of the SFA part an option to beam to ESD is presented as part of the ending conversation.

or just add an option if they do beam down to allow them to beam to esd again.

this is sad that this has not been fixed for so long. I just started playing this game thanks to recomendations from friends Now i will not play it since the devs ave obviously no care for the players or game If they leave a problem up for over a week. Oh well another dead MMO

This bug is a known one.

Bugs take time to fix and although it is irritating it will be fixed. .

If your character is new and you haven't haven't done the first mission (it's been a while since I made a new character so not sure how the tutorial plays out etc) you could always delete and start again if you don't want to wait for a fix..

Ya with a new character the easiest coarse of action is to just delete the character and start a new one, it's not that no-one cares, but devs have a full plate and this is a simple thing you can do yourself.
If something is not broken, don't fix it, if it is broken, don't leave it broken.

I'm a dev, I get it. But "you're too new to care about just start over" is a totally unacceptable answer. Especially after spending a few hours collapsing those G%dd@mn particles to get a very rare officer.

It honestly just makes me want to give up and never come back.
