Seems like it could be a good opportunity to get some much needed fleet marks for all my toons, as well as potentially providing the XP to get all my chars to lvl 60.
Not that it will erase the bad blood just like that, but maybe this is... i dunno, their way of apologizing?
Real Temporal Operative: Purchased the Special Temporal Agent pack before it was even officially announced!
Funny, the blog mentions a very rare Doff, but later talks about a shotgun. I'm torn on this one, Doffs are always useful, but nothing beats a new tool for "exploring" new enemies.

Maybe the shotgun is sentient and is not only a weapon but a Doff???
Your pain runs deep.
Let us explore it... together. Each man hides a secret pain. It must be exposed and reckoned with. It must be dragged from the darkness and forced into the light. Share your pain. Share your pain with me... and gain strength from the sharing.
Everywhere I look, people are screaming about how bad Cryptic is.
What's my position?
That people should know what they're screaming about!

Hmm. I wonder how the HP and level scaling is going to work? Last time you already had to be fairly coordinated to do Elite mode (or just fly 5 cheat-code Scimitards). This time with the slab-o-HP everything has, will Advanced even be doable with a channel-pug like PESTF? Or what about optionals and the new rules, given how often the station died in badly-organized groups? Probably end up having to run it on Normal.
Do wish this game had a proper middle difficulty setting, rather than just 'insultingly simple' and 'requires friends.'

Both this event and the CE event don't require to play on Elite, take the safe road and play on normal. It's faster and you still get the item which is the main reason to do it anyway.

That's my fear. This mission had a lot of problems last time. Adding on the absurd health scaling, even of non-Delta Quadrant enemies....I am concerned.

Oh I know I do the same but its the principle thing. On Normal its so stupidly easy; you shoot some enemies and they're dead before you even finish your firing cycle and are left wanting. On Advanced you have to take it seriously, coordinate with your team (heck know your team; most of my fleet has quit so I'm stuck with pugs), and make good use of everything or you'll fail. The one good thing about the old Elite was it had that middle ground where if you were stupid and badly built you were a toast, but if you were decently set up and aware you could still get some good fights while still having enough slack to use non-standard stuff and TRIBBLE around some no matter who you ended up teamed with. A halfway point between Derp and Take It Seriously. Don't have that now, and I miss it.

If it's like the previous one, the time will be about the same since the rifts kept spawning 'til a timer expired.

Copy Paste Failure of the Day.
Reward is a Shot gun with no details... probably a Pulsewave of unknown dmg type.
What Mk is it? Unknown. Can it be upgraded? Unknown. What quality is it? Unknown.
Will follks over L56 get xp in event? Mobs are L50 and right now mobs 5 lvls below do not give xp. So I doubt it.
If it makes up for anything is something to be remain seen when it is over and the player base gets back to the stuff they usually do. I hope personally that Cryptic uses this distraction to address some serious issues to recent changes in end game.
For the time being the event seems to be a good installment. What do I expect to get out of it?
- Reasonable amount of skill points for my toons not at 60.
- Reasonable amount of dil times number of toons running it.
- A dealt with Delta Reputation on the fly thanks to multiple choice rewards.
- A full queue list
- Something to do in STO other than doffing
Gosh the two last ones were sad...hopefully not that sad as in not being able to let myself blind anymore that the first three are even more sad.
Lol, an event like this so soon after a major release sounds like someone crying "Pleeeeease stay in game, pleaaaase".

just like 60 lobi weekend and eu login event sound like.
cryptics way of damage control, bribing players into their broken game.
while going "LALALALALALA" with hands over their ears about ANY bug/mistake they made.

Faster? Nope this event is on a timer. It ends when the timer reaches 0 not if you kill all the enemies. you do that you just end up sitting there waiting on the timer to count down.

I have to agree, LoR had no such offerings durings its release, think they added a few items to the pack during week 4, so far we've had a lobi giveaway to help bolster the weekend logins and now this to bring logins back to an acceptable level for the next few weeks. Dont get me wrong though, if this weapon turns out to be a PW version of the TR116.. then great!! I just hope the guys use this time to work on the current issues and get our game back on the straight and narrow.

Because Cryptic didn't do this same event about this time last year and Cryptic never give away anything, unless they're trying to coax players from leaving...
There must have been a big exodus a couple months ago when they gave away all those CStore items, such as uniforms and a couple ships etc...
Who's Cryptic trying to convince with all this, I mean really...
Never mind all this whining about unrelated stuff, what about the fact that level 60 players will be doing this event and getting a grand total of 0 points for every ship they kill? Meh.

That makes up for Enterprise for all I care!

Play the game if you want. If you have that much of a problem with it though, I suggest you find a different MMORPG to play.

I wonder if the shotgun is the first ranged kinetic attack and if that means it has shield pen like other ground kinetic attacks.

Play Advance and Elite for higher research reward... and fail when group fails to keep space station alive.

yeah they did a awesome job with the last expansion,
taking every opportunity to show off their incompetence.
mirror event totally is in line with that, no xp*multiplier is still no xp.
