I don't think the OP is saying that his friends and fleet left. The last patch made the game unplayable for him, thereby losing touch with his friends and fleet.

There's no way to contact them out of the game?

Good. Finally cryptic did something right. I don't like my friends and was hoping something as lame as redesigning pvp queues would be the nail in the coffin!
Couldn't cryptic have done this earlier?

Are you a hermit, monk or sitting on Gillagan's island hoping Cryptic will come to the rescue?

Doing something right? for real? Dude what world are you from?

strange that at lot of my fleet mates had left the game some time ago to play swtor, didnt take long for them to come back to sto and they seem to be enjoying the new stuff.
personally i think most of the new stuff is pritty awsome.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

Ignoring that attempt at structuring a reply...

I log on, I play, I have fun. If I didn't I wouldn't rage, I'd find something else to have fun with.

Playing the victim is both boring and non-constructive.

But being a troll is right?

Well, true friends are not bonded together through a game only. I call my friends list more of an acquaintance/contact list of convenience.
Agree, some are actual friends, some are people I've barely even met in-game, and a variety of things in between.
