An introduction.
I started playing in July 2012.
Purchased:
Lifetime
Collectors
Steam pack
LoR Pack
DR Pack
Every Fed ship from C store
Every Rom ship from C store
1/2 of KDF ships from C store
15 diff Box ships
30 diff Fleet ships
5 max rep on 6 char
OVER $4,000 in Zen purchased :o

Point? I have INVESTED in this game
I LOVE Star Trek ! I would even say I know more about it than Geko. (No offense Al)
I get the intent behind MOST of the changes with DR. (other than molding the game to encourage spending money by the players)
I have a problem with playing for over 2 years and INVESTING in the game and BRAND I love. Playing at least 8 Hrs a day for those 2 years . AND buying the new ships, and maxing out the ship reps on all of them, and paying to upgrade my gear to MK XIV , and buying every god awful expensive captains trait out there. Etc, Etc, Etc

To feel like I did when I first logged on and played the first mission "Stranded in space"!
You know when you couldn't kill anything or it took forever to blow up 1 ship.
Some may say that a 3 minute ISE "The conduit" is "Too OP"
I say ..... I Earned it I worked and played and payed to be able to do that.
I HATE that being taken away from me. I was informed in all the interviews and dev blogs that minor changes would be made to the "former" STF Elites and that only the "NEW" elite ones would be a nightmare.
To my "surprise" the entire first week and a half of DR was nightmare mode. I couldn't even grind fleetmarks because the boss ships didn't spawn.
So what did I do ? I was a LOYAL customer and fan I didn't log out, no I kept playing encouraged my fleetmates to keep playing ,encouraged them to buy the delta pack , saying the ships were cool and fun to fly and WOW do they level fast because all we could do was JAPORI.
It was fun we all were laughing excited for the new content man it was a good time and we all PAYED, BOUGHT the delta rising packs. 2 of my fleetmates a hubby and wife BOTH had there PC's TRIBBLE out a year ago and had JUST come back to the game excited having fun SPENDING MONEY! Even though EVERY stupid thing was broken in the game . And then Delta Rising Gate happened. The EP of the game himself has the nerve to call us CHEATERS/EXPLOITERS when it was CLEARLY CRYPTICS fault for this fiasco! IF they didnt break everything else, If they had fixed this bug (that they knew about), it never would have happened. NO ONE would have been grinding Japori. PERIOD ! IT IS YOUR OWN FAULT ! eh hem.
I recently sold a Home. I WAS going to spend a LARGE sum of money on this game I because that is how unreasonably much I love Star Trek and this game . NOT now.

My entire fleet is currently looking for a new mmo to play and I long for the day STAR TREK is in the hands of some one else, some one that won't blame the CUSTOMER for their oversight and blunder.

Sorry it was so long :)

your choice you invested, you took the chance and thats not cryptics fault.

this looks suspiciously like another "i quit" thread, but i donno what the op's point was in all of that.

I think he's trying to say all his investments are pretty much nullified at this point. With the broken state the game is in, and the blunder Delta Rising was it's pretty clear to see why someone would be irked if all that money and time spent suddenly became useless/not working/not viable.

Really? That's a silly thing to say.

Seems to me the OP loves ST, so he invested in a game he loves, and in recent times, all that money he has invested is becoming meaningless. With cryptic labeling people exploiters, and distinct lack of communications, increase of bugs that aren't fix, I'm surprised more are not ********.

    buged? oh yeah, big time

completely broken? the rest of us are still playing

its tougher, we adapted, still moving forward

DR is what 2 weeks old? i'm sure there will be rebalances and re-re-balances and re- re-re-etc etc, plenty of time so relax

as for exploits? save it, I've made my stance on the subject clear though i'm sure we'll find plenty other sym-pathetic ears on the subject in this forum

maybe, but its hard to complain you asked for a soda from a cafe with a no refunds policy and you were expecting it cold in a can with a few ice cubes in a clean glass next to it if needed and they instead bring out a warm soda in a misted up glass. then you head online later and discover that the cafe was rated one of the worst for customer service. you need to look more carefully as to what you invest into and where. cryptic has always had a very shoddy record with its customers and how it brings out its content, some simple investigation is always a wise thing to do before hand.

Where is the respect for the OP?

People who actualy spend money on this game, allow others to play for free. Without paying players there would be no game.

Obviously they didn't intend people leveling so fast...

"A program or system designed to take advantage of a particular error or security vulnerability in computers or networks" is one of exploit's definitions.

Quite honestly I don't understand why people are in such a rush to level? Basically the only thing you can't do pre-60 is Elites, and from the way it sounds most people don't care about DR elite...so I don't see why it matters at all?

You can be level 50 and do advanced, pretty much almost any queue, and gear in XIV epics...
Can't have a honest conversation because of a white knight with power

You are a forum troll with an agenda. If you think they'll ever let you be a mod, they won't...you show far too much disdain for others. You are a very strange individual to be spending your time doing this in every thread you disapprove of. (Let me guess: Reported...?)

Barely can do advanced now with a good team, fail one thing and its over. Upon release? Only the best teams could do Advanced.

There has been a shift in the games fun factor. A lot of small but significant and complementary changes that have increased difficulty and while distancing itself from fun towards work.

No amount of complaining will change Cryptics mind. We gave it a good go over the past week, only to be told we're cheaters and that despite being told of a bug and not fixing it, Cryptic can do what it wants when it wants. It is their game after all, and with it being F2P players are the product.

    Meh.

My only recommendation to you is to seek out other MMO forums and publications, and where ever possible let others know what you think.

I can understand the OP's frustration as I'm in a similar position. I accepted that any purchase was a temporary 'access' (with the end time not really clear). So I didn't have problems buying sub-T5 ships, even if they only get used a few days before I never saw them again.

So like the OP, I've spent a four-figure sum on this game. Of which I have no regrets (except, maybe, the Delta Rising pack, thanks to the broken state of the game since DR launch... buyers regret is easy for that one).

The real annoyance is that it seems pretty clear that there's some sort of insistence by the game's "business development" people that everyone will simply love buying XP boosts. Well, I think I bought one once, and didn't see it as value. I have no intention of buying more. I've got Lifetime, I get a monthly stipend, and I've never spent part of that stipend on boosts. I've had to open boxes for Lobi to buy "Bind on Pickup" consoles and equipment. I've never used those boosts either (they just add a bar and sit there being boring).

So what has this utter mess done? It means I see no value in spending more actual cash to boost up my monthly zen, because at the moment all I can really do is grind doff assignments, hoping the stupid XP nerf will be fixed. But then, the question becomes whether they do this in a timely manner that will reinstate trust.

    We'll see.

I don't see any difference between using a term like Cryptic Apologists and using an ethnic slur. Both try to dehumanize a group of people by using a derogatory label. If your defence is I don't have to listen to what you say because you are a Cryptic Apologist, then your argument is non-existent.

ok I don't care for being called a cryptic apologist myself but this is a bit much

just see it for what it is, a childish attempt to counter a point of argument with a silly insult when they can't think of a real response

sorta like saying "i know you are but what am I"
