I see the Champions and Neverwinter rewards for Extra Life listed in their blogs, but such info is completely absent from the STO one. Is this info available somewhere?
You are donating for a good cause. Statisfaction and humbleness for what you have compared to those in need, pain and suffering should be a reward.
I find it troubleing see people only willing to donate if they get a "material" value back.

Hi, welcome to America. Alternatively, hi, welcome to the internet. Alternatively, hi, welcome to the world. Alternatively, hi, welcome to humanity.
That said, they offered, and then they told Neverwinter and Champions Online what they'd be getting, but have stalwartly refused to clarify for STO. It's just plain odd.

Personally... I think they should have in game events that we can participate in as well, which include themed items like Defiance did.
Say... make a new queued event based on an old one that rewards special event items and all we gotta do is "Kill Hellbugs for sick kids" sort of thing, or "Protect the Fleet Starbase for sick kids" sort of thing.
A way for even those of us who can't donate to show our support besides watching a livestream.
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

Yeah Trion's always been big on Extra Life. Playing Rift for 24 hours straight got ridiculous though.

No way I could survive 24 hours of Defiance either... Managed to snag a few new toys thanks to the Extra Life arkfalls, but... there just isn't enough going on right now since they lowered the number of world events.

one thing i never understood with these types of donation efforts, a celebrity starts up a charity cause for a specific target, easily has enough to make the mark without issue on their salary but goes out their way doing these public events that cost 30x more then the intended target only to reach 1000 dollars for the charity which isnt close to making up the numbers. why wouldnt a celebrity just donate the required amount and just be done with it? there are other ways to showcase a reason for charity causes. its also the same with a big business, they setup something like this with a limit of 15k, and 15k is just pocket change compared to what they are used to.
heck i even volunteer my time to work in a charity shop when i can as i cant cant pay to these charities in money, its all used on keeping me alive per week.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.

For the celebrity? PR. It's as simple as that. They don't care at all about the charity, they care about the perception that they care about the charity, and the perception of community involvement.
For everyone else, it's because the actual "goal" is meaningless. It's completely irrelevant. It's all about appearances and perception. See, if I want to raise $100,000, and raise $90,000, everyone goes "man, we failed to meet our goal." If, instead, I set my goal to $10,000, to your average individual that's still a lot of money. Now, if we raise the same $90,000, I can say "WE GOT NINE TIMES OUR GOAL! WE'RE SO AWESOME!" with exactly the same amount of money. It's all about manipulating perceptions through word/number choice.
