Ok decided to try and level a bit so logged in

i was thinking how to best go about leveling

and so i began doing patrols

over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over....finally i leveled up

i was like wth?!!

then i checked how many exp i needed for the next level and promptly soiled my britches

i did the math and my heart sunk

i checked everything twice and my jaw hit the floor

so i tried to level again......forescore and several grinds ago cryptic brought forth a crapper of an expansion that is so mind numbingly boring that i dang near fell asleep trying to level up.

seriously cryptic i got pretty bored trying to level im a casual player and this game is no longer casual so idk how im supposed to level when i just dont honeslty have the time.

I have a family and grandkids who need my attention far more then this game and what time o do have to spend i want to spend enjoying myself playing a game....im not enjoying myself or having fun.

But i AM catching up on my sleep i guess STO is good for something....a sedative.

    No one disagrees...

    Except PWE.
My Old Blog about things that could and should have been added when I wrote it. Not sure what I want to do with it now. I'll just keep it available now that most of it is outdated.

Switch mission difficulty to Elite. You can get up to halfway to the next level by just doing the story missions that way. It's still a grind, though. At least they still have doff missions to ease the pain slightly.

My point is the grind and timegating and the fact its so boring and not enjoyable when i have a full schedule tending tomy family and when i do have time i wanna have fun and honeslty STO just isnt fun right now.

Funny i'm just logging in for free lobi this weekend. This update has ruined way to many things in the game now. People are even having graphics problem where they never did before, And the xp grind is not worth my time anymore. Thank god for the Earth & Beyond Emulator. I can get my space fix in that game.

To play the story with no grinding you would have to be level 59 admiral.

All of them, including the respawn monstrosity that is Kobali Prime ? Maybe, hard to say.

I noticed that at level 60 the last missions are very tedious, as suddenly the enemy ships have shields that are never down and way too many hp. And that't on normal difficulty. They did nerf enemy stats recently, so maybe it's better now.

KK thanks, gonna try 58 with one of my Alts, if I can bring myself to doff that long ... already went through the "regular" Grind-Experience with my Main, and I'd rather shoot myself than do it again ...

lol you think leveling from 50 to 60 is a problem?? have you taken a look into specialisation? every of that Points represent 1 Level. for a casual this is not possible to fill EVER. additionally to reaching lvl60 you Need to farm another 35 Levels to fill at least the Primary and secondary specialisation. good luck mate. better dont try and spend the time with the Family, is far more worth.

To be honest, I'm getting bored again also. This happened last time and I disappeared for three years. (Some people apparently would like to see that again, lol..)

Honestly, I just want the best for STO. But it's not fun. If it's not fun, people stop playing. I haven't done much of the DR content because I got stuck on the second mission; I haven't tried it on normal though and that's on me but I just don't feel motivated to play through it. Somehow, this game burns you out. I hadn't considered it, but actually the grinding is likely what does it.

So yeah, I'm not feeling very compelled to do anything in STO. They already got my money so good for them...just don't think it makes a successful expansion. My purchases were because I came back and played Legacy of Romulus (which was excellent, really enjoyed it).

Not really that wasn't the point ... I'm aware of that ... doesn't mean if have any interest in doing it, tough ... certainly not with multiple toons ... 50-60 with 1-3 toons is all I can bear right now ... and since I already went through Delta Grinding with one of them, I'd prefer to actually "enjoy" my LvL-Experience with the next ones ...

PS : nvm was probably directed to the OP ...

When you did the math i hope you knew that the xp a ship gives you is not what you get when you are 60. The ship kill may show you 100xp earned.. but hen you are 60 you need specialization XP. Spec XP is like 70% of the ship kill xp. So u see 100xp poping up, but u get 70spec xp only.
And by the way, the ship mastery xp is like 50% of the ship kill xp.

Dude im a casual player when i did the math it wasnt how to get maximum grindage from the grind it was how i can get form point A to point Z easily.

and i discovered its not possible and with having two grandsons to spend time with and a new granddaughter coming in december i just dont have much time to endlessly grind.

i like the game but as it is i just dont have the time to grind away what free time i have on a game that just isnt very fun like it used to be...pre DR.

Easy answer... Level 60; I would have said 59, but I don't know what kind of grind might be between 59 and 60.
