[BUG] Cannot spend Specialization point

So I've made level 51 on several of my characters. All but one can spend their specialization point; one character (fed-aligned Romulan) cannot. All selections are greyed out.

Anyone know of a work-around? Not looking forward to wait for the devs to fix this.

    Please make sure that your skills are valid, as that will prevent the purchase of Specialization Abilities.

    To see if your skills are valid, open your skills window ('K' by default) and see if there is a "Respec" button in the bottom-right. You must press that button to reset your skill trees before additional training will be available, as your character data has landed in an invalid state.

    That was it, thanks :) No clue why my skills got reset, but they're invalid now. Will re-spec and see if that fixes things.
