Seems when you closed Memory Alpha you failed to move Rek to Star Base 39.

He sold commodities at a discount... folks still need to use him.

The other Commodity Brokers are still in game, only he is missing cause you closed Memory Alpha.

Please put him back in game on Star Base 39.

I believe cargo vessels (not ferengi, not mudd) in sector space provide the same (or better) discount anyway.

    your wrong... they charge more.

selling in sector space gives you only 33% of value and buying costs more. you can check with the low level commodities. No different than using your replicator.

unless they have changed things since mem alpha closed, only place for discounts is at the specific vendors for certain items...

unless your a ferengi, they get a racial discount

T2 rom embassy has a discount console for commodities.

Selling is bad to Sector Vendors, but not buying.

Base Price of Provisions == 100 EC

Buying from the Replicator is 150% base cost on commodities. (Provisions == 150 EC)
Buying from Sector Space Cargo Ships is 75% base cost on commodities. (Provisions == 75 EC)

Selling to the Replicator grants 40% base cost. (Provisions == 40 EC)
Selling to the Cargo Ship grants 40% base cost. (Provisions == 40 EC)
Selling to Commodity Broker Fhoss on ESD grants 40% base cost. (Provisions == 40 EC)
Selling to Ensign Lessa (Personal Equipment) on ESD grants 50% base cost. (Provisions == 50 EC)

This is without either being a Ferengi or having the Ferengi Set bonuses.
I can't comment on the Embassy values.

Fleet Embassy with the commodities unlocked is the best place for Warp Coils, Stem Bolts, Entertainment Provisions, Seismic Stabilizers, and Terraforming systems. It is also tied with the sector freighter for Industrial Replicators. For everything else, the sector freighter has the best prices.

Never sell your loot to a commodity broker. They'll stiff you at least 10% under what you would get from selling to a gear requisition officer or even a bartender.
