Last Chance Lockbox Event (Now - 10/14)

The Lobi Crystal Consortium (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Quark Enterprises) has announced that they are taking the Xindi Lock Box away soon! Now’s your opportunity to open one of these boxes for a chance at some spectacular prizes. Read more details about it here.

    I noticed that both the Xindi and Undine boxes are mentioning BOTH the Lock Box & Lobi ships... are both going to be in the box for this event??? Like the Tal Shiar box during the LOR anniversary?

    I'm wondering what Cryptic/PWE's stance is in regards to a recent article posted over at Massively.com. Specifically:

    Heh love the spell check in the article "can be persecuted..." I guess the lynch mob mentality is alive and well in South East Asia :D

    Nah, they like it when round eyes gamble with money and stuff PWE's coffers. Only thing they'll do is block the game in singapore :P

    Well, blocking a region is one solution. But anti-piracy groups have been trying this for years versus piracy-sites, and it hasn't made much of a dent yet. If people wanted to start circumventing any "blocks", there are easy methods of doing so.

    And so, from now until Tuesday, October 14, 2014, players will once again be able to find previously-retired Lock Boxes dropping while playing content in Star Trek Online. This includes the Cardassian Lock Box, Ferengi Lock Box, Tholian Lock Box, Temporal Lock Box, Dominion Lock Box, Tal Shiar Lock Box and Elachi Lock Box, Voth Lock Box, Hirogen Lock Box, Undine Lock box in addition to the currently-active Xindi Lock box.

    Oh joy ! You have no idea how much I love these junk weeks....

    So? If PWE blocks it, they can't be held liable for people breaking the law via unauthorized access.

    Yep. Somebody has to help pay for those expensive Type 99 Main Battle Tanks and the J-20 program. :P:D;)

    Unlikely. I bet it's going to be the Xindi lockbox 2nd edition with a Xini-Insectoid starship and Degra's ship as lockbox and lobi store prizes.

    I think the next one is the Delta Quadrant buddies lockbox, with the friendly delta races stuff. The next one after that will probably be the Vaadwaur lockbox. There are way too many new art assets related to them and Cryptic is going to monetize them like crazy. Plus several developers have hinted that enemies coming together to face a new foe is going to be a recurring theme in the future of the game so we might get some sort of story hook for that.

    Goodbye T5 lock boxes. Rest in peace.

    The Vaadwaur lockbox will come. But it won't be the first. My guess is that Benthans will be the first lock box. Hazari the second, and the Kazon raider will be the winter event ship.

    I was under the impression the next box is Hazari...
    TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class.
    Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider.
    Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.

    Don't make ARC mandatory! Keep it optional only!

    In a perfect world (har har) they'd simply stop exploiting vulnerable people with trashy gambling traps and instead, *gasp* put work into content worthy of people's money instead of riding the whale express all the way to the bank.

    Maybe we'll get lucky and this anti-lockbox thing will get picked up by other countries as well, but I doubt it. If anything, it'll mainly just protect Singapore from predatory games.

    Come on guys, at least when you copy-paste old blogs double-check them before release.

    Good, glad to see this series of boxes going. So now new boxes can come. Now to see what mirror ships and ground weapons shows up this time. I love getting those. Thanks to the boxes my ground weapons choices are like a kid in a candy store. :D

    Usually during this box run where all shows up. I been keeping the Dominion and Hirogen boxes. As in hopes to open one day.

    Personally, I would have rather preferred it if Cryptic had 10-day expiring Character-bound Lockbox Keys drop instead of different lockboxes, and those Keys would only unlock any Pre-DR Lockbox. One, it would tempt players into gambling on more Boxes and Keys, two, it would encourage inventory upgrades, and three, it would bring down the market.

    As it is, more lockboxes to pointlessly take up space until the market is low enough on certain types to sell.

    I would love to see a Mirror Tactical Escort Retrofit (aka Mirror Defiant). It wouldn't come with it, but you could use your existing cloak console with it.

    I'd like to see that "useless ensign" (I know, it's not all that useless) reassigned or maybe give it a LtCDR sci slot and some other options. It would be interesting to see different boff seat combinations on this external visual model.
