As is usual with these sort of things prizes will go to the buddys of those having a say in handing out the prizes.
The best part of this accusation is this:
There is no winning move for cryptic here, if i do not get the prize i can say "see i told you" and get the satisfaction of having been right.
If they hand me a prize i can say "nice try but we know how this usually works, so despite your attempt at bribery and sugarcoating you are guilty!".
So in the end the only thing they should do is indeed give the prize to a buddy, because then they know for sure he will be happy, and through his happiness they get a bit of happiness back. While i can revel once more in feeling justified in my accusation, and since i never thought i'd actually get anything in the first place, i wont even feel cheated which makes any post about the topic somewhat superfluous.
Flex your muscles at circular logic too, its fun!
I have a mate and he always says he never wins any competitions, so one day out of curiosity I asked him how many competitions he has entered, his reply was "oh I never enter any cos I know I wont win"
now that's circular logic for you.
now heres is some honest logic 'if you aint in it you cant win it'.
When I think about everything we've been through together,
maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,
and if that journey takes a little longer,
so we can do something we all believe in,
I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.
I have no illusions about my chances, but since all it cost me was about ten seconds of my life and the tiny part of my soul that flitted away from me when I used a "hashtag", I'd say it wasn't that much of a waste. Yeah, I hate hashtags.

As a matter if fact OP, All those first time poster accounts probably are Cryptic, because when you register on the forum don't you have to have a valid game account to go along with it.
That's just it, you could create easy new simple dump accounts!
My goodness this forum is full of cynical buggers, isn't it?
As for my chances... Eh, i know I won't win. Simply for the reason that I never do, and not for anything like 'it's not a real contest' or 'they'll just give it to their buddies'.
I'm pretty sure I won't win on any of the social media platforms but I wanted to wait until the drawing, just in case. My only concern is when will the Delta Operations sale end? I plan on purchasing it but only at the sale price. Has anyone heard any news as to when this sale might end?

At least the chances should be better than winning Powerball in the US.
Hell, if I win Powerball I'll hold my own raffle to give away 100 LTS.
Maybe if I start ranting about end game Miranda and Constitution class starships in that give away thread the mods will lock it so no one else can enter....
If i happen to win its lucky, but if i don't then there's nothing lost. Entry was free after all.
It'd be nice if active forum users had better odds than those who created an account just for this contest, but it'd be a pain to sort that out especially with the incredibly limited forum options.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
I entered 5x. One on the STO forums, Steam, Youtube, Twitter and Facebook. So thats about the same as a 5 Dollor ticket on the Mega Millions. I've never won that. There a first time for everything. Right??
Based on the population growth in the relevant giveaway threads, I would estimate the odds, if non-zero, are 1/3000 to 1/3500 on the forums and 1/3000 to 1/4000 on Steam.
Infinite possibilities have implications that could not be completely understood if you turned this entire universe into a giant supercomputer.
#of tiimes you enter divided by total number of entries.
for me its 1/some number that no one will know until contest closes.
But hey OP.. thanks for posting the comment about 'multiple accounts' and reducing my odds further as those few less than honest players that haven't already rush out to make new accounts for new entries.

Based on the current date and entry count, the numbers are between 6000 and 7000 for the forums and 3000 and 4000 for Steam. And for the record, my younger sister's account was already there - it's just that she doesn't particularly care about the prize, so I get it if she wins.

Kind of sad that the above does not seem far fetched.
