So I just logged in after that patch to find that they have removed the FX for Eat My Dust:(
Please! Please! Bring back that animation and don't nerf it, it was great the way it was.
Can the double experience on tribble please be disabled so we can get an accurate feeling about how the progress really will be instead of the way it is now?
Yes this must be the most unusual request but I got lured into the 'progress ain't that bad' trap before realizing that the xp is 'increased'.
Was doing Borg Disconnected and was wondering why it was so easy to free Borg ships.
After keeping an eye on my buffs and the hits I was receiving (or in this case wasn't receiving) I realized it was down to Attack Pattern Expertise.
As you aren't actually taking any hull damage when it's in operation, it's allowing you to interact without interruption.
I'm going to really kick myself for saying this arent I? Or is this an intended feature. I suppose it won't matter with the Intelligence Team buff anyway.

We received far too much negative feedback (both internal and external) from an ability that fires this frequently, to allow animations and FX this active remain attached to it.
If we had a simple means to allow players to choose on/off, we may have pursued it. But that is not an option at this point, so we had to err on the side of disrupting gameplay as little as possible.
We'll save animations and flashy FX like this for future abilities that allow more control of the maneuvers your ship undertakes. But they really had no place being attached to a passive, frequently-triggered effect.

Thanks for the response, though I have to say I'm more then a little disappointed about this news; I found that animation to be one of the most immersive game additions I have seen in a long time.
I am saddened by the amount of negative feedback you received, and hope one day we will see this FX added back to the game somehow.
Attack Pattern Specialization: APA tac captain ability doesn't proc this. Why? It's on a longer cooldown than boff attack patterns. That's fair for the fact that tacs get this for free.
Like there is a captain retrain token for 500 zen on the zen market, I would like a Specialization retrain token to be made available on the zen market (for 500 zen as well, it would be nice and consistent).
Otherwise I like them. There needs to be more than 4 though.
Players should be aware that at the moment, the "Specialization Qualification" PADD available to be made via the R&D system opens up when you're a few spec points along, BUT will only allow you to train your boff in low-grade Specialization Skills (i.e. those from the trainer) until you hit high levels yourself.
The cost to make the "Specialization Qualification" PADD is 1 PADD, plus 37,500 ec in trainer skills PADDs. However, at 13 spec points, my one toon which can make it, will only be able to train in skills worth up to 10,000 ec direct from the trainer anyway.
Therefore, if you make or buy such a SQ PADD, ensure first that you cannot get the same skill from the trainer cheaper.
When you added a new specialization tree you should have refunded points to people. It's incredibly annoying to have wasted points in the Intelligence Tree simply because that was the only primary specialization only to have an infinitely more useful tree added shortly thereafter.

I have a level 60 Temporal Agent character who has stopped earning Specialization points when I fill up the XP bar. I know that I've filled it several times since purchasing all of the Specializations and Abilities. That's why I just now noticed. This is a HUGE problem that's going to prevent me from investing in the Constable Specialization when it comes out. Please help!

How many Specialization points have you stored without having spent them? There is a limit on the number. Not sure what it is though.

I have ZERO. And I've filled my XP bar twice more since posting this. No Specialization Points have been awarded. Ugh.
Once you have completed all the current Specializations, any further Spec points are turned into Dilithium and NOT saved. The only ones you can save are the ones from the FE rewards and the 1/4 spec points you sometimes can get from Endeavors.
Hello. My name is iamynaught and I am an altaholic.

Hmmm... I have other, older characters that are still earning Specializations points, even though they have bought all the abilities. The 1st character I ever created, way back when the game came out, has 27 Specialization Points right now. And another character, a Delta Operative (or whatever you call it), who just earned her 20th point.
So is this a change for newer characters? Doesn't seem fair, to me. That means all my older characters will be able to buy most of the Constable abilities when it comes out, but my Temporal Agent will have to grind from the beginning, even though she should probably have about a dozen extra points right now.

that was never intended to be a thing in the first place, it is a hold over from a bug. your temporal agent is the one functioning correctly.
if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.
Once all spec trees done thats it you get DIL every time you level the bar..I learnt it the hard way when I came back 2 years ago..No extra spec points or anything its just dil once you finish all spec trees no matter how many times you level the bar..

Tone down, don't remove.
TRIBBLE Hydra! Hail Janeway!
Based on what I've read so far, I think this would be ideal.
Blurs = bad. Bobbing, weaving, swaying and what not = good.
Infinite possibilities have implications that could not be completely understood if you turned this entire universe into a giant supercomputer.

Indeed I suspect it won't.
