Its been a while since last I played, but I wanted to play some today.
But it didnt take long before I started having performance issues while playing.
The gameplay is choppy, I get constant 1-2 second freezes or very low FPS, and no matter what I do it does not help.
I'm running the game on a Desktop computer with the following specs
- AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition, 3,3GHZ/3,7GHz Turbo
- Corsair SSD Force Series 3, 120GB
- Western Digital Caviar® Black 2TB
- GeForce GTX 560Ti 2 GB
- Kingston ValueR. DDR3 1333MHz 8GB
- Windows Home Premium 7 64 bit
I never encountered these issues previously so I cant help but wonder if this is an issue with the latest update.
Can anyone tell me if its just me having these issues or if its something more widespread, and if there is a way to improve this?

Even when I log out and go to the title screen it's still occurring. It can't be my desktop computer because I was able to run it smoothly over the last few months, it's only now it's happening to me.
I don't know what Cryptic has done to the rendering engine but my system shouldn't be having ANY issues at all with STO, especially when I am the only player in the mission.
My System.
AMD Phenom II X4 955BE @ 3.8GHz
8GB of G.Skill Ares Cas 8 1600MHz
MSI R9 270X Gaming 4GB
This system plays BF4 maxed out @ 1080p minus AA and I don't get any stuttering. Fix your Damn Rendering Engine Cryptic!

No. It is not that.
I already knew about the bad performance after season 9. Its something else. Even in episode missions, you are running smoothly through the map and you have moments of slowdown without any reason at all while the overall performance is just fine. I suspect this happened after the last updates. I didnt suffer this 2 weeks ago.
BUT, i think deactivating the postprocessing helps a lot in this matter, that has nothing to do with the overall bad performance of the engine in some zones.
