Word to the wise: don't buy Jem'Hadar Space Upgrade

So for an upgrade that costs 200 Lobi from the Lobi Consortium, it will only cost maybe 10k dilithium or something in Delta Rising. People who bought the Lobi upgrade for the space set (which Cryptic explicitly promoted in the last few months) won't get anything for it.
So if you haven't bought the Jem'Hadar space upgrade? DO NOT. Waste of 200 Lobi and Cryptic will not be doing anything to honor or recognize your purchase there.

Nope. I know that'll be an unpopular answer, but it is what it is.
Keep in mind that you have the Mk XII version at this price, while everyone else must start from Mk XI in the Upgrade System, and improve it from there.
The Ground Set also included a Costume Unlock which will need to be purchased separately from now on. So call that a built-in bonus, if you like.

I paid what I felt I wanted to pay to give my bugship a 'canon' set at endgame. I have been happy with it and am even more happy I can push it to 14 UR/epic (even though it will cos a small nation's income in minerals)
I am not personally upset that the 200 lobi I spent all that time ago is basically being devauled to a mere handful of dilithium. I bought it then at a price that I felt was fair. The equipment I bought is not being reduced in capacity - far from it there is an option to make it even better now.
HOWEVER.
As soon as this upgrade system was thought of/put into Dev servers/became clear that it would enable us to upgrade mission rewards the mk12 upgrade SHOULD have been removed from the Lobi store.
It is pure theiving for this to still be in there. You are taking advantage of people's stupidity and it shouldnt be allowed!

maybe a little retroactive advantage from the lobi store. a new hull skin unlock or something. 200 lobi vs a few thousand dilithium is harsh.
Now the stealth detection possibly scaling to 5% on an epic version, awesome.
Yeah. If it unlocked the hull as a visual, I'd have zero complaint.
I am put out by this and still gauging my level of reaction as I only bought it a couple of months ago and have barely gotten any use out of it in that time.
The important thing, though, is that players who have not bought it yet DO NOT BUY IT.
Read the quote. People with the Lobi just get to start out at Mk 12 instead of 11. That's it. The advantage of a few thousand dilithium's worth of upgrade is what you get for the 200 Lobi package.
Additionally, Borticus indicated that they will be removing the Lobi upgrade when DR goes live.
Shady business practice. It should have been removed once it was known to be a bad deal. You could probably make a BBB complaint.

And somehow I fear my lobi set is exactly the one that will remain static, and not scale.
The difference being that those who bought it some time ago, got to use it in the meantime. If you buy a car a few years later the car maker will usually release a new model with up-to-date equipment and at a similar price (by comparrison and considering current economy, obviously).
Cryptic have, on the whole, gone out of their way to protect our cash investments in the game for DR.
Lobi, cstore and lock box ships have been all been given some love.
The jemmy sets, being lobi purchases, are similar investments.
It is extremely regrettable that cryptic have not seen fit to protect them as well.

I got what I bought: Mk XII.
But I think an exception should be made for those whom invested in these Lobi Store purchases IF the same Lobi Store items are being upgraded, or given an upgrade path -- and the currently available Lobi Store items aren't.
I would prefer that Cryptic/PWE permits an upgrade to Mk XIII at minimum. Again, I accept I bought a Mk XII item. If the same Lobi Store item is being sold as Mk XIII or Mk XIV instead, then permit a one-time upgrade.
My two cents on that.

Lol. Thats fine Hawk. I'll just endlessly grind Dillithium and not spend any cash. But I'll still be playing the game so there is that.
The last time this happened was with the Tholian set and all that happened there was the devs added a feature where you could get a few Nukara marks for it(and keep the gear).

no then they would whine it should have be made mk 14 gold from the start... or that it is somehow a cash grab anyway. there s no pleasing these people.

Gold might be a bit far, but if they could update the jem'hadar set to ultra violet, or keep it purple but go to maybe 13 then id be more than happy with that.
the original set was to take 11 to 12 which in fairness is a minor improvement as it is and probably was not worth the lobi price as it was, but we paid it. the cost in dilithium for equivalent items to go from 11 to 12 in game would have only been reasonable amount of dilithium anyway.
i dont think we can really ask to have an increase again as compensation that is well above the gap from 11 to 12, so gold is too much.
Having that set be slightly better again would i think be sufficient. people have still had their use out of it, and automatically have it improved which is all they paid for in the first place.
