What?! Yet another reput. Oh man, just reminds me a bit of LoR (which was awesome by itself) and the squeezed in Nukara reput with very little contend to cover it back at that time.

Think here we look 2-3 new queues for the new marks as well as another battlezone.

Whatever, the new sets will have to be impressive to cope with stuff already available. I estimate another 2 piece bonus boost for polaron 7,5% from the weapons set. If the new space set is worth anything will be seen. Perhaps pieces of it. Could also be that peeps tend to match it with the old jem space set. But I don’t expect that much out of it at this point and rather focus on the stuff I look forward to which is getting to 60 and work with the upgraded tier 5 lock box/lobi ships.

At the very least with 8 toons and sponsorship tokens I hopefully will be able to do the rep with fleetmates on the fly if the daily marks are comparable to the undine rep.

Hope they don’t forget the 32k dil reward at its conclusion cuz for the moment that pretty much the only incentive here.

and you have not seen the new fleet extension, with all new dilithium and EC sinks :)

so you meant defensive, not offensive?

I have yet to see a definitive answer on how or if we will be able to upgrade our rep gear to MK XIV. So does anyone know for sure if we will be avle to and if so how that will work?

quiet amusing how crafting takes ONLY one year to finish
hey... i mean... pffft... one year...... thats nothing compared to eternity
on the other side... one year... STO is probably dead till then if cryptic continues to mess up this game

Of course you are right... you can finish crafting earlier...
the only problem is that not every player can be online 24/7 to slot these small crafting projects which btw. also consume resources which you only get for being even more online and doing missions or for investing dil or zen... or your soul (the time will come when cryptic will demand it).

and why in gods name should i craft anything below lvl mk XII?
thats just a waste of resources...
im clearly not putting mk V items on my ship and selling that junk on the exchange also makes no sense since the market is practically spammed with such items meanwhile
We are meanwhile at the point that you get more money when you simply discard stuff that previously had at least an average worth.

The entire crafting system is a joke.
You can only make progress by investing either ridiculous amounts of dil or ridiculous amounts of time before you actually get to the point where crafting many any sense.
And the side effects on the gameplay are so terrible that i fail to find words for it.
Mission loot has become worth nothing anymore... it only consumes cargo space. And the costs for the dil -> zen exchange are going higher and higher.

And again, no love for pistols. You've done rifles to death already. Enough with the damn rifles.
I too would like to see more done with pistols. I admit to being more of a TOS fan, but across most of the different series rifles were rarely used.

Unfortunately too true. It would be nice to have some sort of threshold/configuration to immediately render down certain kinds of drops.

Both space reputation sets actually look pretty good. I'd really like to see the 2, 3, and 4 piece set bonuses for them.

So now that the 20 Hours Reputation have decrease from 3K to 2K so a 7 day daily grind will be less. 98K under Tier 4 will just bring me at 100K to Tier 5. So now that DAR with take a lot more time to grinding up to Tier 5 if they decrease 2K to 1K per 20 Hours. Marks, XP an etc to get gear have also increased. Some top 1K Marks and D-ore even worst. I don't craft, and I have my reasons why. I like to grind and get what I've worked hard to get with my skills in this game. I've spend so much time in 8472 grinding and I have enough marks to get what have. The rest I can't say I the same. So DAR will be done the same way as the 8472 grinding hard to get nice gear! ;)

Extremely underwhelming. I will only do it if we get the usual big bag of dilithium at the end. Then I will simply cash in and buy nothing.

If we have a store to buy mk xii weapons from I will give it a look, more flavors of mk xii weapons available for dil is not a bad thing.

I think that they mean: if you equip this YOU can focus on offense and leave the defense to your gear.

I am not agreeing or dis-agreeing with them (disagree), just providing an alternative (inverse) explanation. :P

Any news/info on visuals on the space shields? Would be interesting to see what the visuals will be and what they will do to the overall look of the ships. Especially the new Intel ships. Also, what will new visuals do to existing non-Intel ships?

It doesn't, it takes 90 days to get to rank 15, and, at MOST, 295 to get to tier 2.

That's if you NEVER craft anything ever.

It still takes too long, 40 or so days without spending a ton of dilithium feels right to me (same as a rep). If they had made level 10 the top level it would have been fine. I have not crafted anything because of the gambling mechanic. I don't grind enough to blow tons of dil for an item with the wrong modifiers.

Not to mention that every rank after rank 15, which, again, only takes 90 days to reach if you never craft anything ever, is just bonus crit chance and not base skill that you need to craft anything.

Stop with the "IT TAKES ONE YEAR" argument, its been proven false more times then I care to count.

Lvl 15 science on 2 toons, lvl 15 beams on another one, no dil spent but i have been crafting cheap 1,2 or 3h stuff, focusing on one toon at a time.

I've managed to get Engineering up to level ten in about 20 days using a mix of the 20 hr and assorted lower crafting items.

My Science and Shields are at Level 8 heading for 9.

The others are between 3 and 6.

I'm mostly just trying to max out ENG/SCI & Shields so I can make the Aegis set.
(I like the look of it on my ships)

Though I know I need a special Doff to do it, I'm hoping by the time I get there I will have acquired one.

Thats weird then... because Season 9.5 with the crafting was released about 60 days ago... I was online almost everyday to do crafting stuff and I am at about 50% of the LVL 15 requirement.
Your calculation is a stupid illusion. Yes its great to rely on math and the assumption that every player would ALWAYS crit EVERYDAY.
    Reality however looks different.
    1. People which start crafting usually dont crit at all
    2. People which start crafting usually try to unlock the first 4 crafting slots which means they do not focus on one crafting school (which actually is logical to do at this point)
    3. what does it help to have one crafting finished? there 7 to finish atm and that takes ages

fact is if you cant be online all the day to start crafting projects (because you might have a job and a RL) you need ages to craft

Prior Seasion 9.5 I was able to craft whatever i want... crafting already was maxed out... now i cant craft anything useful... and that for a pretty long time unless I pay cryptic.
No compensation for having done the old crafting system already... nothing.
And when cryptic decides that the new crafting system does not work as intended in a few months they might introduce something new and all players start at 0 again.
Well, that appears to be cryptics new strategy on STO lately

    1. you are still doing your calculations on the pure assumption of always critting which is simply not true
even at lvl 10 (as you have pointed out) there is 1/3 chance not to crit

    2. your calculation ignores other schools and the need to unlock slots early

    3. the reason not to focus on just one school might be.... ships not only need weapons... they also need shields... consoles... etc. + the wish of players to get hands on sets (which obviously dont consist of just one piece)

yeah and ive pointed out how long it takes doing crafting in general just to get to the point that i already was prior Season 9.5 and how long or how expensive it would be to reach this point again

Gotta admit...with the reputation nerf, I really don't see the point of adding yet another reputation project. None of the Delta Alliance Reputation abilities really stand out. I don't see myself replacing any of my abilities or gear with anything this reputation project has to offer. I'm going to pass on this one.

Why would the Federation use Polaron weapons especially with the Eclipse's Phaser Lance?

Dont like the Kobali but I guess I'll need to grind it... would of been better if they gave us a choice on which side we can "support".

It should of been that at the end of the day the folks from the alpha and beta quads decide to stay officially neutral and do business with both sides since they are after a large coalition to fight against the Iconians.

You took the word right out of my mouth.

If the reput offers a dil reward like the others have this could be the only incentive here.

The new console looks interesting but other than that… why bother at all?

Is this on tribble yet? I'm wondering wether the Phaser Compression Rifle resembles the canon compression rifle or wether it's another stock super-soaker.

In addition to these passives, completing your advancement with the Delta Alliance and reaching Tier 5 will allow access to a powerful Active Ability usable in Ground combat:

    Concussive Tachyon Emission
Generates a large Tachyon blast that deals damage and nullifies enemy shields for a short time.

The way the tooltip looks in game it looks like this tier 5 rep skill appears to be space but in the blog it says ground so which is it? lol
