Why is it grey? It could be just beacuse they were filming a scene where it gets dirty.
    Otherwise nothing special.

An unimaginative rehash of the Tumbler... I'm not impressed...

I loved Watchmen (might even put it on later) but thought Man of Steel was TRIBBLE, and not heard anything about this sequel which I like the sound of :-\

Personally I liked the tumbler .. and this one too. I am old enough to remember the original TV Batman series ... and the older Bat mobile, and those from the first Batman movies ( ugh! ).

IMHO it was ready for an update. I actually hated seeing the tumbler blown up!

I liked the Tumbler too, absolutely loved it. I'm just disappointed to see it re-hashed in such an unimaginative way.

(I grew up watching the Adam West series, and saw all the other movies... The Nolan movies were a nice update, by putting Bruce/Batman firmly into the (almost) Real World rather than impossible BatGadgets, but from what I've seen, Snyder hasn't actually updated anything, just taken existing work and put his own spin on it)

A bit harsh, but I tend to agree. I think I would have appreciated it a bit more if there were not odd cuts in the design. Take the rear tire well, for example. If the goal is to protect the top of the tire, why is there that odd exposure at the front? Someone elsewhere commented that it would be a pain to change the tires, too.

A bit less artistic license and a bit more realistic functionality, and I'd be won over.

I did like the tumbler. Despite the bizarre roof-driving sequence, it did give the illusion of having been a real prototype. It also screamed Frank Miller's Dark Knight style.

agreed. I remember the original "mobile" ... It was cool .. for it's time. IMHO the tumbler was a great idea t pull it forward into todays designs. It also made it as you said: a genuine prototype.

Some of the others (just my opinion) .... look too ... umm well .. "plastic" ??? (Not sure how to say it right) ... but plastic comes to mind.

The Batmobile Tumbler was to bring it up to today's standards, while still keeping the rear mounted jet engine thing. The Batman Begins trilogy was ment to be more realistic than the source comics, therefor had to come up with more realistic takes on classic devices and stuff.

    The Tumbler did that perfectly.

    Also... famous line:

Basically... the same argument applied to the reboot Enterprise can be applied to the BatTumbler. Its not your father's. Its made for the modern fan.

And IMO, the Tumbler was the best Batmobile, because it also made sense. The older ones were fancy spy vehicles. They got the job done, had the cool factor, but looked impractical.

It looks like Keaton's Batmobile and Bale's Batmobile had a baby.

And then the Joker showed up and hit that baby in the face with a boxing glove on a spring with the word "UGLY" printed on the glove.

What did Batman and Robin do when it rained?

Funny you should say that... back when it was released on the TV series there were a few cartoonists who had fun with that very point ! LOL !

Just the same .. "in the day" (so to speak) it was great! The tumbler (In my opinion) was a good idea for a modern upgrade.

We al have our opinions ... and I wouldn't mind seeing a cross over between the two ideas (maybe that's what the "new" one was supposed to be??? I dunno .. ). I don't think the new one bridged the gap at all... and is somewhat lacking in "new" ideas.

I stil like the tumber ... it looks very distinguished ... durable .. I'm still not finding the right word.
(sorry ... having a senior moment right now!)

    Really? Because I heard...

I know the OP is about the new film; I had no idea non-film Batmobiles are not up for discussion.

If it helps, I believe the car I posted appeared in the (animated) movie Mask of the Phantasm.

Why do people always call cartoons "Movies" they are not they are cartoons and why do people think because there was something in a cartoon its all of a sudden included into talks about real life things.

That is a cartoon car and what ive given are the 1960s batmobile and the 1989 Batman Movie Batmobile.

Anyways when i hear movie i think real movie not a cartoon and a long cartoon is still a cartoon not a movie and yes i feel the same way about every disney animated cartoon ( Or as the refer to it a movie).

Anyways we all have the right to opinion

    Movie
    [moo-vee]

    noun
    1. motion picture.

    Motion Picture
    noun
    1. a sequence of consecutive pictures of objects photographed in motion by a specially designed camera (motion-picture camera) and thrown on a screen by a projector (motion-picture projector) in such rapid succession as to give the illusion of natural movement.

Shockingly, that definition seems to support your rather narrow definition of "movie."

Anyways, my real point is that you were speaking generically about the best Batmobile, which has appeared in multiple forms of media (including comic books, in which it debuted), and then got bent out of shape when I suggested an example from a form of media you weren't referring to, even though you didn't say you were restricting yourself in that way.

    It annoyed me.

    It's all good now. :)
