So I went to buy the DR pack for the pre-reduction rate of $120, but as I'm in the UK it's saying that it's 120 Euros instead, now for me at the current exchange rate works out at about £95, which on one hand is good but if you (Using Google) check the exchange rate of 120 Euro's into USD, it comes out at $157.83.
And this isn't just about the DR pack, it also goes for Zen and anything else.
If the price (And the only price on the Arc website) is $120, why can't I buy it for $120 which is £72??
Best to wait until it hits the Steam store so we can get a decent UK price. For some reeason Steam hasn't got these VAT issues seem to have problems with.
Being a Brit, the price discrepancy is annoying. I don't mind paying in EUROS -IF- it ends up being comparable to the USD. But it's not. Spend 5 minutes with a calculator and it would tell you that. Now - I have spent money with this game, because I enjoy it. But with the DR Pack now available, the difference in pricing is just stupid.
Also - Price Discrimination IS illegal.
Price discrimination is the practice of charging different persons different prices for the same goods or services.
Price discrimination is made illegal under the Sherman Antitrust Act. 15 U.S.C. §2, the Clayton Act, 15 U.S.C. §13, and by the Robinson-Patman Act, 15 U.S.C. §§13-13b, 21a, when engaged in for the purpose of lessening competition, such as tying the lower prices to the purchase of other goods or services.
As Cryptic is an American company, you would think they would be better aware of US Federal Law.
Although, good news is for us Brits and Euros, is that on 01/01/15 the laws regarding VAT on digital products is changing: http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/posmoss/

The Euro/Dollar exchange rate is 1.30 today. So $125.00 is 96 Euros just using base exchange. Throw in 20% VAT and you get 115 Euros - and they are charging you 120. So the price is relatively comparable.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

Price discrimination is perfectly legal and in certain cases is encouraged, for example cheap cinema tickets to student or free bus travel for the elderly - same service but different prices for different people.
But I agree it is annoy that us Brits always get screwed even when you take account of state taxes/VAT.

Still waiting to be able to use forum titles
Because they have to add 20% VAT in Europe. But as you worked out the numbers still don't add up.
£72 + 20% (£14.40) = £86.40. But the Euro price is 120 which is £96.....
I wish companies would just charge the correct amounts (yet even allowing for VAT, Cryptic's/PWE's numbers DO NOT add up)
